This has happened several times to me. Now I make sure to keep an eye on the transaction screen to make sure they don't add it. When they do, a lot of the times they'll add it and quickly go to process the transaction so it changes screens to just show the total. Very deceptive.

You have to be really lucky to get someone to override the register to allow you to buy current 3 cent games. They don't scan as for sale anymore so there is no way to sell it unless a manager overrides it. I wouldn't try looking for those.
That hasn't been the case for the entire I search. The only clearance items that show up (tagged or not) are usually home items. Electronics, games, toys, etc. don't show any local inventory or price drops, on Brickseek that is.
Brickseek sucks. Majority of items it says it can't show local inventory for, the pricing is off the few times it even shows stock and local price drops isn't for most items that are dropped at a store.

The reason I didn't get a Series X was after realizing that the only games I have on my Xbox One were Halo, Sunset Overdrive (great game) and random games I got on clearance for like $5 and never played. I barely turned on my XB1 and it was used mainly to test games.
