A question about modding (read before you report though because it isn't bad)

This is not about how to mod/pirating or anything- I just want to protect myself and not get in trouble for something someone else did...


My friend came back from college to find his little brother (16 years old) had modded his 360. My friend who plays xbl all the time was really angry at his brother.

Here is the situation. He invited me over to play 360- specifically my new copy of Res 5 that I just bought - co-op split screen. If we are not plugged into xbl and my account is on a memory card do I risk getting my account banned even though we are not doing anything wrong? I seriously want to smack his little brother upside the head because I will probably have to bring my 360 now...

I may be wrong, but I think they ban the console rather than the account.

only consoles get banned not the accounts themselves
