My friend and I were BSing last week, reminising about all the concerts we went to in our 20s, and there was some crazy times.

Around '96, at edgefest (alternative fest), there was some girls at the front of the crowd, and some guy with a boner was humping a couple girls in the ass. One of the them was repulsed and got away from him. The other girl didn't notice, or was totally fine with it.

At another concert, my friend was up near the front and Limp Bizkit was playing. He was either bored or tired or both, and fell asleep. Fred Dirst got pissed at him and hit him in the head.

2000, at Ozzfest, we were up late the night before, and I had taken pills for
Bipolar
. We stupidly decided to drink some "knock out juice" to go to sleep. On the drive there the next day, I puked out the window on the drive over there, at a restaurant, and while laying down at the concert between my legs laying near a fence. The funniest part about puking at the restaurant was that nobody seemed to notice or care, and I kept right on eating after I puked.

1998-2000, at Soulfly/Rammstein, we were probably the only people in the crowd with KMFDM shirts. Before the concert, some guy came up to us and asked us, first in German, then in English, what we thought about the lyrics of their songs. He said he was doing a documentary on the band. We said we didn't know, we didn't speak German, even though one of the shirts my friend was wearing was one I gave him with the lyrics of KMFDM's Light in german. During the concert, some German girl came up to my friend and started talking to him in German. Another girl grabbed my friend's hands with hers, and put her/his hands on her tits. I remembered the crowd was rude and hell and many people left after Soulfly.

I Remember going to Mayhem Fest a few years back and not eating or drinking anything because...

A. By principle, there's no way in hell I'm going to $6 for a bottle of water and God knows how much for food.
B. Sure as hell am not going to wait in line to go to the bathroom and who knows the horrible attrocities that have happened in there.

So the day went on and I was hungry and thirsty and figures worse comes to worse, if I pass out they'll HAVE to give me water. I Then realized weed smoke is the most foul stench in the world when you're fading away in the sun and everyone there was smoking and I can safely say I hate that smell more then anything now. Mastodon opened on the big stage, which is always awesome, but since they were opener their sound sounded like ass. Next was Dragonforce, which was total bullshit Mastodon opened for someone like that and my friend agreed. So oddly enough around that time a bottle of some kinda strange dark yellow liquid rolled near us. My friend who was drunk and stoned and pissed at the people who were fans of Dragonforce decided to pop the lid off that liquid and jam his thumb in and swung it around and tossed it at the people infront/below us (we were in the back grass seats). So for all I know, someone got a bottle full of piss chucked at them. When the show finally ended I literally just drank as much water and ate whatever I could.

Ozzfest 2000. The year before, the crowd had totally ripped up the lawn and clods of dirt were thrown everywhere. So in 2000, they had tarps down over all the grass. About halfway through Godsmack's set, the crowd ripped up the tarps, set them on fire, and started mosh circles around them.

Then they started pulling up the lawn and throwing shit everywhere. I'm not sure if it was just sodded or what, but it was coming up in big pieces. I saw a full-grown man get taken down by a huge clod thrown from up the hill. There were shoes, beer bottles, rocks, and God knows what else being thrown. A friend and I had to stand back to back to make sure we didn't take anything to the head.

A couple of years back during a NIN show (Halloween night), they played Survivalism. The large screen behind them turned into a lot of surveillance cameras. I thought it was recorded stuff, but they showed some fans dressed as the Harlem Globetrotters on the screen that just ran by me. Anyway, one feed is of a bathroom sink. A man and woman walk in. After a quick check of the bathroom and a brief makeout session, he yanks her pants down and they start going at it. I guess they're busted a short time later because they clean up quickly and RUN out of there. The people I was with didn't notice it at all. I found a video on Youtube.. you can see it a little bit.

I'm not going to post the link, but go to youtube and type "Nashville Survivalism". First video. Top row, third camera is the men's bathroom. They enter at 42 seconds in.

Not all of the displays were live cameras. The couple fucking in the bathroom was prerecorded and played at every Lights In The Sky tour

but i.. wh.. but.. th..

well, then.

there were two chicks making out at the same concert. that was pretty cool.
just kidding. they were fat. :puke:

At Ozzfest 2006, my girlfriend and I were able to sneak from lawn seats down to dead center front row for System of a Down. I caught Shavos guitar pick and took some great photos. I have never been able to settle for shitty seats ever since.

Green Day on the Dookie Tour - the crowd demolished the lawn at Blossom Music Center about a month after Woodstock '94. $60,000 worth of damage to the grass.

The Wonder Years/A Loss For Words in a tiny club about a year ago. One of the opening bands was a tough-guy hardcore band that brought some of their friends in order to start fights. The show was shut down after the second band when a full scale riot broke out - I watched some kid beaten unconscious and bleeding. In the midst of the fight, TWY's merch guy pulled a flying Macho Man elbow off of the bar to break up a 3-on-1. Crowd forced outside, riot cops showed up, helicopter overhead. Absolutely ridiculous.

I've never been to a concert.

Great story, I know. But to be fair, I'm not much into music. Also, none of the few bands I like ever come close enough to make it worth a trip.

Papa Roach/Hed PE/Taproot (circa 2000)... Concert started off with a bang. Taproot opened. One of the best frontmans I have seen. Not only did he mosh during one of their songs while he was singing... about midway through the concert he went to the 2nd floor of the House of Blues, gave the bird to a Backstreet Boys member in attendance, and jumped off into the pit below (about 2.5 story drop). Next up was Hed PE. By far, the most weed I have smelled at any show I have been to (seen 311, Damian Marley, etc). Papa Roach then came on and Coby Dick was just nuts. Opened a gash on his face by banging the mic into his head. Played with this open wound for the majority of their set. Guy threw shoes up on stage. He banged them against his head a couple of times. By far this was my favorite performance by a tour.

Funnest show (from a crowd perspective) is one of the following two...
Primus - Started the show floating (i.e. off the ground, not crowd surfing) for a song due to people pushing forward. The pits extremely fun during Jimmy Was A Race Car Driver (for those who have never seen them, everyone runs around a track inside a super giant pit).
New Found Glory - At warped tour, some of the craziest pits I have been in. It was very unexpected. When they came on, we went from the very back all the way to the front moving through the pits.

Lastly, seeing 2 chicks make out/boobies/etc is far from a great concert experience. I have seen plenty of this "attention whore" crap over my years of outdoor shows.

And clubs, bars, girls gone wild videos, etc.

Did shots of Crown Royal with Weezer in 2005. I was working back stage for that show, Weezer just finished their set and invited me into their green room to do some shots.

Lupe Fiasco shouted out to my rival college (thinking he was at the right place), got booed and shit thrown at him for it.

Plan to have more this coming Coachella.

Where do I start?

So many years of shows and so many stories.

Probably one of the craziest ones Ozzfest 1997 Columbus, Ohio riot.

Basically it started off like any show, Pantera, Type O and Fear Factory were great! I was chilling up on the lawn just minding my own with some friends and my gf at the time.

Right after Manson went off it was time for OZZY!! or so we thought.

Members of Pantera, Marylin Manson, Type O Negative, and Fear Factory walked out and started playing Mr. Crowley. This started a little unrest up in the lawn section.

Their show lasted just over 35 minutes and the crowd was growing more unrestless. We were still waiting for Ozzy to come out and do his thing, but Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo had to break the bad news that Ozzy wasn't playing.

People ran up to the fence and started tearing it down. Fires begin popping up on the lawn and people started tearing out seats and setting them on fire.

After I saw that I decided to get the fuck outta dodge and we booked it to the parking lot.

Several months later there was a make-up show which was better than nothing.

That one is the only show I ever went to that turned into a riot.

Probably one of the funniest things at a show I ever witnessed was Warped Tour 99 and Emenim getting clocked in the head with a water bottle. People were throwing all sorts of stuff at him. During that time I was indifferent and a friend of mine was a big fan of him.

Warped Tour 98 was quite a story. Me and my buddies borrowed my mom's car and drove up to Perrysburg ,OH. The reason one of my friend's GF was staying there for the summer with her grandparents.

Unfortunately, because we were not old enough we couldn't get a hotel so we were stuck sleeping in my mom's car. Well, my buddy wanted to see his GF that night so he walked about 3 miles through corn fields in the pouring rain to her grandparents place and lost his virginity. He got back and we congratulated him and tried to sleep.

I was in the driver's seat, one of my friend was in the passenger and Mr. Lucky was half in the trunk and half in the back seat.

It was one of the worst nights of sleep I have ever had in my life. We got awoke all feeling like absolute shit but, we knew we had traveling to do for the show!

After about 20 minutes of searching we finally found a parking place under a highway overpass.

The show was awesome despite feeling like shit.

NOFX, Bouncing Souls, Bad Religion, Fu Manchu, Reverend Horton Heat, Rancid, Snapcase, and Vision of Disorder to name a few.

The final thing that made this show so awesome was my mom's card didn't get towed, unlike several other people who were parked in the same area.

Other strange or cool things I have witnessed at concerts:

A dude puked on the table at Jeb's aka Headliners up in Toledo during Clutch last year. Another drunk ass sits down at the same table like there isn't a huge pile of puke in front of him :puke:

At the same show I saw two drunk chicks in a cat fight.

This was not really a strange thing at a show but, the venue itself. The place is called The Blue Cat in Bellfointaine Ohio it used to be a bank.

The stage is maybe 12 by 12 and then there is this huge guard rail that extends out from it. The area in front of the stage is further shorted because of risers about eight foot from the stage. I think on a good day this place couldn't hold more than 200 people. Somehow, GWAR was able to play here and kicked much ass.

Crazy people jumping off the balcony at the Agora Theater during various shows. I'm not sure of the distance but, this is just plain nuts.

The Dillinger Escape Plan, words really can't sum these guys up. They're absolutely nuts in concert. Breathing fire, settings stuff on fire, hanging from rafters while performing, diving into the crowd while still playing/singing.

More pairs of titties than I can remember.

Several people who face-planted due to stage diving.

Too many fights to remember. Some brutal and others pretty weak.

Toby from H2O jumping out in the crowd at Warped Tour 99 to break up a fight (he used to be a bouncer). He then proceeded to tell the guys that people who start fights in mosh pits are pussies.

Ice T telling the crowd at Warped Tour that was booing him that he is even more punk and metal than them. He said "You mother fuckers don't know shit I belong here I was hanging out with Black Flag and smoking blunts with Slayer when you were still swimming around in your pop's nutsack." He also said something about the pimp game that was pretty cool as well.

I could go on forever, I don't believe there was a concert I have attended that didn't have some sort of cool story associated with it.

Saw Primer 55/Dope in 2002 in Louisville on what ended up being Primer 55's last tour before they broke up. Ended up on the guard rail for Primer and had the lead singer high five me and dive into the crowd right next to me and one of my friends. Since it was their hometown show they fucking rocked out. Met all the members after they played and Jason (lead singer) is one of the coolest guys I'd ever met.

Dope then took stage and all my friends decided to hang back so I was towards the front alone. A few songs in this drunk asshole starts trying to mosh me (the pit was about 5 feet behind us, so every few minutes he just rams both forearms into me, after the third time the girls behind us went off on him and he just ignored them. He reared up the fourth time, so I punched him in the stomachand shoved him towards the pit, never to be seen again. Towards the end of Dope's set I look to my right and see my friend Shawn literally swimming his way through the crowd towards me, so we rocked out to end the show.

got some excellent noggin from some random chick while Pantera was playing during the Pantera/White Zombie tour.

Used to be this random dude who showed up to all of the metal shows in town (mostly the small venue shows) and we were apparently pit magnates for each other. Without fail we would end up running into each other at full speed, usually a head on collision because I like to run in the opposite direction of the rest of the clowns in a circle pit.
I have since run into this guy at least twice a year and we buy each other a drink. Good stuff.

Played Milwaukee Metal Fest one year and ended up shagging some chick that was the background soprano from a norwegian black metal outfit. Nothing like hard concubine, though getting a girl out of a pleather corset can be a bit tricky when you can both barely stand up anymore. That was a rather rough walk of shame.

Summer Sanitarium 2003. It was my first time seeing Metallica. It was at OSU stadium. The field was covered with a metal ramp so the field would not get messed up. I ended up passing out during the 3rd band from the heat and had to be crowdsurfed to security. Paramedics checked me out then I was back on the field. They said they took temp. measurements and it was reading over 110 because of that damn ramp! After Metallica played an awesome show I caught James' guitar pick! That started my guitar pick/drum stick collection. Oh, and I got soaked from kirks pink lemonade he was drinking lol.

Lots of fun stuff, but my my most memorable:

Type O Negative - Halloween Night show, Detroit (2009). This is always going to be my most memorable concert ever. You can't top seeing your favorite band perform the final show they'd ever play from the front row. This was the last show of the tour, and the singer died several months later. Stood right in front of Peter the whole time. Feel incredibly privleged that I was there.

Ramones - Farewell Tour, Detroit show (96?) My best friend and I stood in the front row for the final show they'd ever play here. Their final tour really didn't have a ton of dates so it was really cool to be able to see this, from the front no less. Interacted with CJ all night, he handed me a pick when it was over. Really fun.

Misfits - Pontiac, MI (97 or 98). Favorite show with the 2nd generation lineup, was right in front the whole time, caught the Frankenstein neck-band thing that Doyle wears when he threw it out, and Dr. Chud handed me a stick. Plus it was released on bootleg video so I got to own a copy of it.

I was at that show. Metallica was about the only good thing there. Mudvayne and the Deftones might've been alright, but the sound quality sucked really bad during their sets.
