Just picked an Xbox 360 250gb with Skyrim and Forza 4 for $250 at Walmart

Yep, you heard it right. Was looking to buy a console tonight and I'm lookin around and I see an Xbox for $249.99 with both games. I couldn't believe it. I asked the guy to ring it up and it was $250.

Not sure if this is anywhere else, but this was at the Mount Pleasant, SC Walmart.

Did 250gb get a price drop to $250? I thought they were still MSRPing at $300.

word of warning you dont have all of Forza 4, youre gonna have to either borrow someone elses 2nd disc or pay for the 2nd disc content

the Forza in that bundle is the Essentials version which is the first disc only, idk why they did it but it really is BS

if you race online without that 2nd disc content youll see so many blacked out Jettas its unreal
 
just out of morbid curiosity why would an individual go out and buy a console 2 months out from black friday when they usually get marked down $100 off?

Skyrim is not on disc, correct? And you are missing the second disc of Forza 4.... This bundle is definitely not that great... I think if you can find one of the Star Wars bundles for $299, that is a much better deal since you get the Kinect as well as a 320 GB console.

or is it just printed on the card (no scratching or tearing required)?

Skyrim on a download code? fucking awesome! Last year all the codes packed in with bundles were selling for under $10 by Christmas/a few days after! eBay was FLOODED with them. I got a bunch of cheap games like that last year.

Does it matter? Oh, you just want to buy it, use the code then take it back and say you changed your mind. Why don't you just walk in to a store and steal a copy of Skyrim? It'll save you the time of committing return fraud.
 
I think this is the best holiday bundle yet. Recent years: (For the mainstream "hard drive" SKU)

2009 - Lego Batman, Pure
2010 - Alan Wake, Forza 3
2011 - Halo: Reach, Fable III

It's a solid deal if you're in the market for a console.

Nice price with the hard drive and games!

Wonder what they will do for Black Friday? Last console I got was net $4 from a pre-black friday sale at Walmart. Purchased for $199 and got a $100 gift card then sold my old one to GameStop for $95. Already had a 120GB hard drive. It was right before the slims came out. Maybe somewthing like that will be possible again and I can get a slim with a 250GB hard drive. Otherwise I'll just wait for the new one.
 
I don't know how many people get lucky on BF but I try to stay away from the stores if I can. Last year I was at the WalMart where some woman pepper sprayed the crowd. Went to Target and the line was a quarter mile long. For $250 for the Xbox and no crowds, that's a great deal if you're in the market for one. As for the Kinect bundles, I'd hold off. Can probably get a better deal if you buy them separately (or buy the Kinect used).

As a buyer you'll never get ripped off. In fact, they'll take the word over a questionable buyer who lies about items over a trustworthy seller.
 
well if it's a printed on code, i won't even take the chance of possibly wasting my time having to do a claim etc.
i might have an opportuniy to buy skyrim (disc) for cheap but if i think i can get a legit code then i will wait. i remember my ebay alan wake code being a tear-off. hopefully skyrim is the same.
 
Personally Black Friday has been lacking some the past few years and it's a good chance they'll just advertise the original price anyway. Worst case scenario, they could return and adjust the price (store policy depending)

Not sure if this is anywhere else, but this was at the Elyria OH, Walmart.
 
I went to Best Buy today to renew my gamer club membership and I saw a couple of employees packaging Forza 4 and Skyrim (a digital card from what I can see) with Xbox 360 250gb consoles. I didn't check the price though..

I'm pretty sure they are concerned about there codes' security and resalabilty (its harder for people to be convinced to buy some code open to the air). This user prolly has skyrim but wants a new 360 holiday bundle, don't be so quick to judge. :whistle2:k
 
yay TC is from my home city(not living there now) but yea those wal marts slash prices like crazy on everything. their game clearance sections are unmatched.

Agreed. $50 off MSRP is already decent especially if it means not having to wait in lines and deal with the BF nonsense or try to get something online only to have the site down because they got overloaded and then the thing is sold out when you can finally get to the site.

Just buy from someone with a good rating who has a decent amount of ratings where most are positive. It takes a long time to really build up a rating on eBay and someone who has a really good rating isn't going to blow it on some stupid shenanigans. Even one bad review can make you lose sales. A reputable seller would never intentionally risk that.
