videogames in general don't scare me because i'm older than 12
:applause: Yeah me neither. The closest is deep suspense/tension when I'm trying to pull of something far above my level and need perfect awareness and execution.

That and I don't want to be scared more than superficially. I already have nightmares from RL.

try playing the fatal frame games instead.
I still can't believe the ending to the first one, After all I went through to find him and that was his decision :wall:

I get scared when it comes to in game heights, Climbing up towers in Far Cry 3 is nerve wrecking.

Sadly I think this is the new reality we live in. Amazon's summer "sale" was even worse than the Steam sale. I really don't mind since I know I'll find what I am looking at eventually, but for those who like to wait to splurge on the sales it can be a little disappointing.
Yeah. For people who don't mind or even enjoy the metagame of sale hunting and knowing you paid 40¢ less than the next guy for a game, it's not so bad. Sucks worse for the people who look forward to the seasonal sales as their big event and who don't have the time/inclination/knowledge to stalk the best deals year round.

So as the last person on earth who hasn't played Skyrim yet, is this the time to bite?  Or does anyone think it will be 50% off at some point later in the sale?

Hard to say... years ago I mostly relied on the seasonal sales. I suspect those that still do are pleased enough... unless they come here and find out what sales they've missed while they've been leading their happy, well-adjusted lives. It's kinda like asking a troll "does this dress make me look fat?" ...just wear it and be happy. Ignorance is bliss.

Base game was $16 on GF last week. >.> Legendary Ed was a few dollars cheaper too.

I managed to idle all my Organ Trail cards with no duplicates. I celebrated by buying the remainder of the cards for a whopping 5¢ each.
Reported.

Hey guys has Dust/Mark of the ninja been cheaper? I read it is a gem and I'm thinking about jumping, but with the backlog I can wait.

Not the last person. Legendary was $32 last week on GameFly, and I'm like, I really want Skyrim. But it has to be at least 50% off on Steam. I'll get it for $30.

Now I'm like. $36 is more than $32... but that was with a coupon and during a summer sale when will it drop again? But Steam still hasn't made Skyrim a daily, maybe it will be 50% off then... What, and piss off everybody who bought it as a flash sale? Come on, Gabe won't care... How do you know?

It's tormenting.

Either way, I'm waiting til Skyrim becomes a daily deal. If it's 50% or more I'll get it, if it stays 40%, I have 48 hours to make my decision...

I am continually surprised by how many people keep asking this. I mean, the link is in the OP, in several sigs, and has been linked on almost every other page. If you still don't have enhanced steam, your doing steam sales wrong :wall:

Well aren't you lucky. Four of my four FTL cards were the Stealth Cruiser and I didn't even idle for them...

I woke up for this?!?

Skyram DLC discount is worse, Crysis Pack is $3 cheaper if you buy Crysis Max & Crysis 2 Max separately.

Grabbed $0.99 SS3 DLC...

Tempted by DmC DLC

Still need to decide on Dishonored DLC..
Bah - Dishonored DLC is NOT 75% off or better. :p

Plus, waiting for Brigmore Witches DLC to drop.

If only Crysis 3 was 75% off somewhere...

Well, crap. Sorry. I hate posting questions when something has already been covered. But who can keep up with this thread during a summer sale?

And can I just say how happy I am that this hasn't turned into a Coconut Queen thread yet? That makes me happy.
Coconut Queen is currently 0% off, or I would be telling everyone to buy it.

khD2t4p.png

Dick Marcinko doesn't take kindly to your type, son.
I want to see a mashup of Coconut Queen with Rogue Warrior:

[customspoiler=Salty Language]Suck on my old-man coconuts, you Lui-Lui mother-fuckers. Dun-dah Beach belongs to the Colorado Coconut Company you fucking stupid fucking commie fucks. I'll stab you fucking sharks in the fucking asses with my fucking knife all the way back to Kaba-Lui Park. I am going to pick up all those fucking crabs and fucking sell them for five dollars like that time I got fucking crabs at the fucking Fuddrucker's in fucking Kuwait City.[/customspoiler]

I like the way you think. I'll wait for $30 as well.

You know you have way too many Steam games when instead of going through your LONG list of games, you just use the SEARCH function and (either partially or fully) type in what game you are looking for...

I mean i would use it regardless, so much easier than even scrolling through a short list

Nah, I use it all the time because I have too many overlapping categories and can't remember which game is in what.

I mean if I beat an indie game and then uninstalled it the game could very well be either in the Indie, Completed, or Uninstalled categories I made. One of these days I am going to make categories that actually make sense.

For everyone thinking about skyrim... cost vs time you get out of it is definitely worth it. I've put more than 100 hours on xbox for it easy. Now gonna transfer my save from there to the PC for even more hours with mods!

Agreed. For me, aside from the Mass Effect games, Skyrim has been one of my most efficient purchases, even counting all the DLC. Over 500 hours on 360 (without any DLC) and Steam says 450 hours with @120 mods. Fus Ro D'oh!

This

75 Hours in and I have not even touched the main quest. (3 quests deep into it and those were really just to be able to do things).

66 hours for me, barely through the main quest and scratched so little.  I feel like I should play more... so much to see!  (skyrim)

EDIT:  Nevermind...deals hadn't fully updated yet.

Anyway, 263 hours in Skyrim for me. That's easily the most of any game I have on Steam and probably the most ever. There is virtually no limit to your playtime with all the mods out there.

Oh My Goodness!  I know we had to wait 6.5 days but it was TOTALLY worth it for $25 Aliens and $15 Dragon Age: Origins.  Sale has been officially saved and is a born again virgin.

Edit:

OK, Updated prices.  $9 DA Origins (hasn't the entire pack with 2 been cheaper?)

And $12.50 for Aliens (didn't GMG beat this?)

Last edited by a moderator:
For those of you interested, Aliens Colonial Marines shows in the banner as 50% off, it (and it's DLC) are actually 75% off on the store page.

F1 2012 shows as 66% off in the banner, but actually 75% off.

Mars: War logs is actually 50% off, not 33%

and, Dragon Age Ultimate is actually 70% off, not 50%.

also, for Civ IV fans, Gods & Kings DLC is 75% off.

I'm a huge Alien and Predator fanboi, but I'm not touching that pile of shit with a ten foot pole.

Also, voted for Primordia.

Also, I guess I was just asking for too much for expecting C5:Brave New World to go on sale with the rest of the pack.

yes on DA: origins Ultimate, I got it for $7.49

also, Aliens: CM was free after rebate from Newegg just a little while ago.

Well, I'm officially fed up with this trading card garbage. Just voted for the 15th time for Community's Choice and what did I get? My 4th Football Manager card to go with the ones I got buying games, etc. I've only got 5 of the 10 Summer Sale cards (including the 4 FBMgr ones) and no drops are pending for any of my other games, yet I have no complete sets. All this talk of crafting badges and booster packs and getting foils sounds like fairy tales. ARGH!!!!

/rant

Never seen Spaceballs (I know I just lost some geek cred there).

Damn it!, Why do I feel so compelled to buy The Secret World (again) just for some damn near worthless virtual cards!?!
