Hi, does anyone have a spare PS + trial/30 day code? I'm willing to trade my humble bundle codes (2 years worth) in exchange or pay $7 or so through paypal.

I would really like to get some of these vita game at the PS+ price.

Thanks

Cole

Ah, worse than Sigma Plus? I already have Sigma 2 on PS3, maybe I'll just pass. I was just curious if the PSN version still had the dlc (I remember it got pulled from the store for a while, and theres no mention of it now)
I haven't played either (didn't have Plus when the first was free) so I can only go off what I read while trying to decide if it was worth it. Here's from Worthplaying for example:

Where the game falters in terms of visuals is in the resolution and the frame rate. It wouldn't be fair to expect Xbox 360/PS3-caliber graphics from Sony's handheld, but few would have expected to see resolution changes occur on the fly. One moment, you'll see the game presented wonderfully on the system's OLED screen, and the next moment, you'll see the game reach PSone resolution with lots of aliasing and blocky characters. Playing at a consistent frame rate also plagues the title. Just like the first Ninja Gaiden title for the Vita, the game caps out at 30 frames per second, which isn't the target 60 fps on the home consoles, but it is decent enough. It never really holds on to this frame rate cap, and while those playing at the default difficulty level or lower won't notice the inconsistency, those playing at much tougher difficulty levels will notice that the game stutters far too often. This makes playing at higher difficulty levels much more difficult than expected since your timing differs greatly per combo, leaving you open to punishing counter-attacks. You can mess around with the options to alleviate the particle effects, characters and blood that slow down the game, but that ruins the console's plug-and-play nature. These frame rate issues never plagued the first game, so it makes you wonder what went wrong.
So I don't know if that's stuff that was fixed at all or how it compares to the first game but none of it sounds all that good.

so.  Jetpack Joyride.

I just got my 5000k trip trophy, by far the most technically difficult.  i used gravity boots + warper.  gravity boots help a ton when the screen is flying.

the last trophy is to buy everything in the store.  i just did the math, and i have almost exactly 500k left of stuff to buy.  i did two timed sessions of ten minutes each, earned about 5k in one, 6k in the other.  lots of random events affect this - from winning slots to getting stuck with needing to buy a utility for a mission. i've earned 1k in coins in the first 1000m, and i've also gotten to 2500 and only had 500 coins... random is random.  so  let's call it 5k every 10minutes, or 30k an hour.

That's about 16 hours of grinding coins for that last trophy.  Or i could buy two  packs of 250k coins for $12.  Lol.   Helllllls no.

What's worse, is that i actually liked the game.  i'd love to tip the dev, but i hate freemium models so much they will not ever get my money.   I've actually used the tip jar on the IOS game Solomon Dark / Solomon's Keep because i loved that game so much, but i will not buy coins, period. Ever.

i'll probably keep the game on my vita and play it occasionally, but it'll take a LONG time for me to get that trophy.  maybe in a couple years of occasional play.

The good news is that the game is fully playable w/o using cash.  You'll unlock the good stuff pretty fast.   The real money is only required if you want to buy that last trophy.   Oh, and I suppose you could buy the 5000k trophy too if you spent a ton on revives and such, but i got that naturally.

Oh yeaaah, I forgot, don't use the gem powerup. Use Lucky Last. You'll make far more money off jackpot wins than you would picking up gems.

Also, like I said, intentionally crash your vehicle after getting three groupings of coins as that causes them to respawn quicker.

Can't you only use one revive per run, no matter how many you have in stock? Maybe that is different if you pay for them...

hmmm. yea, i started crashing after you said that, and it does seem to spawn at least one gem grouping. that said... i think, after reading your post, i have better idea.

use lucky last and token gift, and just crash. die, die, die. this might work. i'll test it for 5 or 10 minutes and get back... it would absolutely suck the life out of the game, but it might be the highest $ per hour.

probably? though they were so expensive i never bought them, but if i'd have bought them, my 4970 (seriously) run would have been a winner. actually, i'd probably have gotten 5k in half the time based on other 4k+ runs.

so while you can't 'buy' it outright, having those revives and bombs and such would sure make it easier.

ok, tested my theory. in 5 minutes of bonus coin + lucky last, i made 2500k. so the same as playing.

pro - mindless. never need to actually play, just click.

negative - mindless. 16 hours of this would kill more braincells than crack.

i'm not actually sure lucky last is better than gemology, though. but i'm done testing. there's no way i'm getting that last trophy, so no point in min max calculations.

Damn it people. I've played a ton of Jetpack Joyride on my iPhone, so the PSN version wasn't on my radar. Now you people forced me to download it to my PS3. Damn you people.

Ok so I might have been to quick to rush and say there were no control problems on Ducktales.  Is anyone else running into an unresponsive square button (pogo stick).

I'm not talking about landing on an edge and losing your pogo bounce.  I'll be standing, go to jump on someone's head, push Square, and nothing.  I land flat-footed on their head and take damage.  It's happened about 15 times and it sucks extremely badly.

I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing this, mostly to see if it's possible that the Square button on my controller is starting to get wonky.

EDIT: Looks like I'm not the only one experiencing it.

anything worthwhile vita wise? I got Metro: LL and Sniper 2 but both not my cup of tea so I am thinking about going back in and getting PSN Cards

I wouldn't use bonus coin, you get enough tokens playing the game. One jackpot win of 1,000 coins is the same as collecting 100 gems, combine that with being on a double run and that's worth collecting 200 gems, way faster. Coin magnet + Lucky Last + crashing vehicles after coins immediately stop spawning brings in a decent amount of coins per run.

Regardless, you'll be playing a lot. When I did it, I broke it up into segments. I'd play until I got 15K-20K depending on what I felt like and then play something else.

Speaking of segments. When you start playing Wipeout again, be sure to let me know. I'm starting to get a lot of jerks who are picking races. I just don't understand, when so many goals involve hitting people with weapons or destroying ships.

That goes to everyone in his thread. Play Wipeout, let me know you're playing, and we'll all group up and combat the shit out of this online mode.

Well, to be fair, they probably don't give a shit about the campaign (or maybe even beat it) or trophies. The hardcore Wipeout players want to race. Regardless, I'll hit you up. It'll probably be awhile cause I want to finish Ragnarok first, but it'll likely be my next major Vita game.

*edit* Wow, 2/2 posts using regardless. What a nerd.

Should I get Muramasa digitally or wait for the cart? I forgot that I have a good amount of Best Buy credit that I can use to buy PSN cards.

I'm down for wipeout whenever, too. Loved what little I played a few months ago. I'm also currently trying my hand at the Runner2 leaderboards. Not sure what the heck people are doing, but the top ranked in this game have some stupidly unobtainable scores. 1.5 mil on the first stage, and I don't think I cracked half that, lol. Wonder if it could be that I haven't learned a new move from later in the game (already unlocked dancing).

there are a ton of worthwhile vita games.
yes, like vita pets.

Over at GameSpot, I'm known as the WipeOut 2048 addict.

I bought both Pure (first PSP game) and Pulse, liked them both, but gave up due to their difficulty spikes. Didn't find that in 2048. Instead, I got three campaigns (with HD and Fury), two different playstyles, beautiful graphics, tight controls, and a whole shitload of other content all in a nice PS+ wrapped package.

Didn't actually do any multiplayer levels, so I guess that makes it four campaigns!

It seems that Soul Sacrifice is pretty loved on here, any criticisms that would make someone wait till it drops lower in price?
Did you try the demo? It's representative of the final product except the difficulty is more volatile in the demo since you face off against a tough boss earlier than you do in the full game. Still, bosses can be tough if your teammates don't know whatthey're doing - and the price to revive your allies is steep at half your health bar.

If you're not going to play online, I'd wait for it to get cheaper. Hell, if you're on the fence avout getting this game, I'd evn recommend God Eater: Burst, which was a PS+ freebie. Tey're not exactly the same since Sacrifice is an action game and God Eater is an action-RPG but they play similarly enough and scratch that monster-vanquishing itch.

Like out of the ones on sale whats good, I wasn't a huge fan of SS though I had that and traded it in
Ok, here's a run down:

Soul Sacrifice - arena based combat reminiscent (but different than) Monster Hunter. Worthwhile. Deep if you let it be deep (ie, you can chain weakness attacks - hit with fire, then ice, etc). If you like the game, it's well worth the sale price. if not, not.

Sumioni: Demon Arts - sounds cool in theory, but the demo made this a no buy for me.

Ninja Gaiden - not my thing.

Guilty Gear - fighting game, not my thing. supposed to be good, but lacks online which is a critical hit for some.

Atelier Totori Plus - i bought this. price unlikely to be beat anytime soon. jrpg game with a heavy emphasis on crafting.

Silent Hill Book of Memories -- silent hill meets diablo. i bought it last sale. not my thing, but people that like it really like it.

Touch My Katamari - if you like rolling things up, it's definitely worth the price. you need to grind some to unlock some of the levels, but there's plenty of unlocked content for the price.

Ridge Racer - skip.

Street Fighter V Tekken - fighter, don't know.

Muramasa Rebirth - supposed to be great. i'm on the fence.

Metal Gear Solid HD -- you already know if you want this.

New Little King's Story - i'm buying this. i played enough on the wii to know i'll like it. they changed the art style, but that doesn't bother me. there are supposed to be some frame rate issues in crowded scenes, but i'm okay with that too.

Dead or Alive - fighting.

Ragnorok Odyssey - it's another Monster Hunter style game. it gets some hate, but i really dug the demo and i'd be all over it, except i'm waiting for the Ace edition later this year.

Dynasty Warriors Next - insta-buy for me

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom - fighter

Super Monkey Ball - you're either a super monkey in a ball or a monkey in a super ball, and you're racing down tracks and picking up bananas.

Calling all people who play Ragnarok Odyssey, Bumslie and I are having trouble beating Grendel in 3-11 and we're looking for 1-2 more players to help hopefully make it easier.  If you're not that far yet, that's not a problem, we'll help you get through the previous quests.  We're looking to play at about 9:30 PST tonight.

If you think Grendel's tough, just wait till some of the later bosses. What a piece of shit that game is.
I know that. I was able to beat him solo but playing in the tavern (multi-player) makes him as hard as having four players going, so we're at a disadvantage with just us two.

I'll probably be close to done by the time you finish that crapfest. I was able to just blast through levels 12, 13, and half of 14. My goal is to pass at least 5 a night so that was a pretty good stretch I had.

I thought Soul Sacrifice was a good Vita title, if not one of the best. The system is deep, if you take the time to invest in it and the multiplayer is fun. A friend lent me his copy and he didn't see it until I plat it. So if you like the Demo just a bit, the story, system and content get much, much better. I would buy it, but I need to finish other games. I plopped 80+ hours and had to return it, else I would of just keep going, with all that extra dlc...

Soul Sacrifice is a much better version of the type of game that Ragnarok Odyssey is right?  I'm actually really liking Ragnarok so if Soul Sacrifice is even better, I'll want the cart.

An issue I had with the demo to Soul Sacrifice and part of the early part of the game is how long the sword and arm type attacks take to summon and that I would often be hit while summoning or take so long to summon them that it would kind of kill the flow of combat. I found it to be a lot better into the game when you're able to use the more projectile type weapons and blitz techniques that are much faster in addition to being able to fuse the offerings so that running out is much less of an issue.

Just wanted to throw that out about the demo and early part of the game for those checking it out.

I could wax eloquently about the battle system and write it a love letter. As for the story, it won't blow you away but if a sequel to SS is made, I'd buy it on the spot.

Tip- Max out on the demo and hoard offerings. The progression curve is well made. You will be slightly powerful at the beginning, but it evens out quickly and then kicks into gear to force you to play with combination of offerings. An offensive approach is recommended in the story, but you can mix it up. As for multiplayer, later bosses will be a challenge and a good team is defined by the offense/defense/heal approach. Also, managing offerings is a must, since they can be spent.

I thought I had that happening to me a few times too, but chalked it up to bad timing on my part. Good to know it may not be just me. But shitty to know this bug exists.

Ok, here's a run down:

Atelier Totori Plus - i bought this. price unlikely to be beat anytime soon. jrpg game with a heavy emphasis on crafting.

Muramasa Rebirth - supposed to be great. i'm on the fence.

Metal Gear Solid HD -- you already know if you want this.

New Little King's Story - i'm buying this. i played enough on the wii to know i'll like it. they changed the art style, but that doesn't bother me. there are supposed to be some frame rate issues in crowded scenes, but i'm okay with that.

Dynasty Warriors Next - insta-buy for me.

Nice run down. Games above have my greatest interest. I think I'm most intrigued with New Little King's Story and Dynasty Warriors Next. Could you elaborate on what makes Next a buy for you?

I laughed when reading your blurb about MGS HD... Because I'm very much on the fence about MGS HD at the moment, eventually I'll be getting the PS3 HD collection whenever it receives a discount but I'm just not sure about the Vita version. Transfarring saves is awesome but no Peace Walker (never played) is kind of a drag and the idea of playing these games without a dual shock feels almost sacrilegious. Sadly, I don't even have a Vita yet, still waiting for the used bundle I ordered off eBay to finally arrive, aargh.

I have never played any Metal Gear game, so I might end up picking up the HD edition. Though since I'm not sure I'll like it maybe it makes more sense to buy the cart so I can sell it if it doesn't work for me.

If it helps about MGS HD for vita, unless you need or want it portable I would just get the ps3 version. One of the big reasons is it contains Peace Walker. For me personally, I find it much more enjoyable on my ps3 and a lot easier to control than my vita. Don't get me wrong though, I love my vita, it's just some games you want the precision and control of the better DS controller. So take that as you may :)

Just thought I'd share this with you guys:

http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/PS+Vita/Heroes+of+Loot/news.asp?c=53127

A cool little game called Heroes of Loot which I've been following the progress of, is apparently coming to Vita as well as iphone and android! Personally I think it's great that more and more indie devs are developing or porting to the Vita. I just hope the pricing is right for vita compared to mobile. I don't mind paying a few extra bucks for physical controls on my vita, but $9.99 or something versus a dollar is messed up to me.

Yeah, I think the controls are the biggest thing, besides PW, holding me back from a purchase. Thanks!

If your new to the series, I recommend starting with the original MGS on PS1. If you can overlook the retched graphics and dated gameplay you'll find a fantastic storyline, great setting, and some truly memorable bosses. MGS lays the groundwork for the series and it's storyline is easily the most approachable. But, if you don't like games heavy on narrative and exposition then stay away from this series at all costs.

So after several hours of playing Ducktales I only really have two complaints.

1.)More than a few times when you press the pogo button (around every 25th pogo on average), nothing happens, and you end up landing on an enemy and losing 1/3rd of your life bar. This appears to be a widespread issue so hopefully it will be patched in the future.

2.)If you fail a level, you keep none of the money. I think that would have been a good opportunity to soften the blow of having to start over when you run out of lives, even if you aren't progressing in the game at least you would be progressing in the unlockables section.

I also wish they had included a full copy of the original game. I'm not sure why they didn't. But now that I've played this remastered version, I want to go back and play the original to see how different they are.

Probably a rights/royalties issue, tracking down all the artists, programmers, etc. to get their permission. Recreate everything from scratch, change it enough so that it's not an exact copy, and you can get around that.

Oh I didn't realize there would be so many rights issues to deal with. Interesting...

Picked up Touch My Katamari, I had it before but for $3.75 can't pass it up. Though it kinda sucks cause I had $3.50 in credit already, and had to spend $5 to cover the 25 cents I didn't have.
