Not sure that an additional perspective is needed here, but wow. You have no concept of sportsmanship and have no knowledge of football if you can convince yourself of that. It's the same thing I preach in my league. If you're up 21 points with 3:37 left in the game you don't NEED the 1st down (especially when your opponent has no timeouts).

In the real world, no coach would risk a pick 6 there, when they could run the ball, kill an additional 40+ seconds off the clock, and then pin their opponent deep in his own territory...where, because he's down 21 points, he has to get desperate and start making risky throws himself. Punt the ball, sit back in your quarter defense, and you're likely to get the ball back anyway. If he decides to nickel and dime you down the field while you're in quarters, that's a good thing for you too, as he's killing the clock for you.

It's incredible how mind-numbingly stupid somebody would have to be to not understand this simple concept. It is 100% worthy of a strike. What mental deficiency do you have to reach where it's no longer good enough to win the game...you have to make your opponent feel like complete shit too? Whether or not this typifies your overall behavior and attitude in this league, Madden leagues on CAG need much less of this. Enough is enough.

As for the formation thing, an argument can be made of how far behind "Madden logic" is with the real NFL. But at the end of the day, the game is the game. To me, the bigger violation is not recognizing when the game is in hand.

This strike wasn't a good one to break into the "1984 Madden League" argument.

Ballhawk... up that much, you gotta just run the clock out, got too. It is definitely uncool to run 5wr and 4wr1te sets in the 4th with a substantial lead.

I'm not a stickler, but that would piss me off two.

(Running the ball and clock is a more sure fire way to end the game quickly than spreading it out and adding the possibility of incompletions IMO)

I do sometimes feel our play calling and decision making is overgoverned, and that people bitching in the thread are given far too much credibility as too what actually happened, and what is and isn't cheese.

This specific time, ballhawk was completely in the wrong. And against a commish he was just asking for it.

this is why when issues come up in games they should not be made public and kept between the two people i learned my lessions couple days ago. This is a typical cag thread heads collide with each other for dumb things.

if they had josh cribbs on their team probably. in his many years of being with the browns he was often used on a few wildcat snaps, reversals, bascially any screwy play that put the ball in his hands to attempt to make a play. i'm not a powerhouse team, i'm 1-3. usually shitty teams have to get creative to get wins. take what my browns did this week. they faked a punt for a run in the 1st half and faked a FG to throw a TD pass, i don't remember when in the game that happened but it wasn't the 4th qtr. so from my experience yes, the shittier a team is the more they incorporate risk junk plays to try to make things happen.

if i was 3-1 i wouldn't even bring it up. it's not like it's a particularly amazing strategy that i'm aware of, shit my only experience playing madden tbh has been in these 2 cag leagues this year so its not like i know a great way to exploit it i just wanna mix it up a little.

So your brother plays exactly like fero described? And he also gets on cag and offers to trade away your entire team in the middle of a blowout loss to me? You sure give him a lot of power over your team...
 
Granted we are all humans. ..I feel like this whole scenario was handled very poorly on both sides. ..this time and many others since I joined last season...I believe things would run a lot smoother if said infractions were handled in private by possibly a committee and not aired in public the second the game is over or even during the game (comish or not) I'm not blaming anyone since I said I've seen it before. I would also like to see everyone have some restraints when it comes to solving the issues at hand...attacking peoples character. ..attacking the comishes...threatening to leave the league....threatening to shut it down...if it is going to be aired in public I believe we should hear each side of the story and be granted a vote for strike or not
 
Hold on just one second. Out of five games this year, you've only personally played one and allowed your brother to play the rest? You really are asking for it aren't you? Admitting this shows me that your thought process is severely lacking . Letting someone play who has never read the rules, and is surely not going to follow something he isn't aware of is even crazier. If he plays more than one more game for you, I'm going to have to remove you from this league and find another owner. YOU are here to play football. Not your brother, not your mother, not your sister. If you can't find the time to get your games in its time to reconsider your dedication to madden. Not to mention that you've actually broken the "miss 3 games and you're booted from the league" rule. Staticz, any thoughts on this insanity?

In my mind if a non owner played that many games that team needs a new official owner. Trust me I know how sometimes it can be hard to find time for madden thanks to work then let someone play CPU or sim game. Just a input from another owner
 
I don't care what reason was to be honest I'm sure if you told one of the commoners you were out of town they would have understood and put you on auto
