Xbox One Console Thread (Console is currently in stock as of 12/3 at Amazon)

I'm not the one talking out of my ass insinuating to everyone that a service (that we know nothing about besides that it's free until 2015) is going to be $30 a month.  If that were the case, then the Xbox One comes with exactly $400 in free value just from Xbox Fitness, making Microsoft the most generous corporation of the gaming industry.  If you're going to make negative stuff up expect to be called out on it.  I searched online and couldn't find anything regarding that price point (or any rumored price point) besides a poll from a Xbox One fan site that showed just 3% of people would be willing to pay anything over $25 a month.

I never claimed that was the price, I asked if it was the price because I thought I had read that somewhere, big difference. Reading comprehension son. And don't act like Microsoft doesn't know what they will be charging, they don't sign a contract with Beachbody to offer their content without all that laid out. How old are you? Feel like I'm talking to a 16 year old that knows nothing but thinks he knows everything.

 
Microsoft already paid that company and everyone else for the content.  It's up to them to decide how to maximize their profits over a year from now based on how many people are using it, how often, and what the demographics are for those using it.

I heard somewhere they're just going to keep it free forever though, so it's no worry.

Thought I read Call of Duty was coming out early, but I could be mistaken.

I hope to buy a controller early like I did with the Xbox 360 back in 2005. It's fun to hold the controller and imagine the gaming you'll be doing with it soon...

Amazon updated their 2K14 release date to 11/15. Hope some others start to come out early as well.

My gamefly account also shows 3rd part games shipping out on the 19th.

I'm Xbox Gold and I have not gotten an email for Forza 5 cars or for the Killer Instinct stuff. Is this something that is going out later or only to specific people?

Only to specific people, random people, to be exact. They just use Random.org and pick some Gamertags.

 
I didn't get a Forza 5 email either... and I play all the Forza games, 10 years+ and Rewards member..:(

It just seems like everytime they do this 'random' selection, I miss out.

I got forza email not sure if code can only be used by person or not. I'm not getting forza so if anyone wants it hit me a pm and if I can find it in deleted messages you can have it.
 
The Forza 5 codes can't be redeemed yet AFAIK. Tried two different codes at Xbox.com to no avail. Might have to be done through the console, or the codes just aren't active yet.

 
I would love to get Ryse or even one of my currently planned purchases in time for the launch or shortly after.  If I could get something like Need for Speed or even Dead Rising 3 on Friday (or even Thursday if it shipped Monday or Tuesday) I would probably not buy them then and just hold the rental till I was done or it dropped in price.  I'm fine either way though, cause I don't buy many games and this is a special event.

 
I just got an email from the MS store saying to make sure all my information is correct and that orders will start "processing" on the 15th. Early release potentially? 

 
Based on how long it took the Microsoft Store to "process" the digital point e-mails, I would not say it's a sign of them shipping them early.  Rather just making sure they don't shit the bed again.

DR3 allows you to pick how serious or comical it is.

The story line is serious, but when you can put on all womens clothing it kind of makes it not so serious

You're going to play Dead Rising 3 first?  I don't know what I'll play first Friday morning/afternoon.  I need to start thinking about that.  I suppose Forza would be the traditional choice, but I would like to somehow know if my Kinect is all working correctly though.  Hopefully there's some setup process that will show me everything is good.  I never have used the first Kinect either at my home or anywhere else so I don't know what to expect or if I can put the Kinect where I want it.  I sit about 7-8 feet from my 60" TV and would like to place it on top of the TV, but that would be probably a foot or two above my eye level.  Would the Kinect be able to do everything it needs to while playing a scary game or a game like Battlefield and track my head and stuff?  For Xbox Fitness I'll be sliding my chair and standing so it should have no problem there based on what I've seen of the Kinect 2.0's radius and space requirements (the old one wouldn't have even be usable down here since I'd be to close).

I might even try out Xbox Fitness first, but I think it'll be Forza 5 even though I'm not a HUGE Forza person, I just would like to continue off the 20-30 seconds I played that night two weeks ago today:

to be honest i doudti will play much if anything after i get it at midnight release. I think if i play while im kind of tired i will not remember anything of the game lol. I'm sure only thing i will do is unbox it set it up mess with the dashboard and maybe try a game of nba 2k or something that is not single player story.

 
Is it weird that I just spent a whole bunch of money at amazon to pretty up my living room? I mean I want it to look like a welcoming home when she arrives. Not a place where wires and electronics go to die.

 
dang well looks like x1 is not getting b2 g1 at target for launch ad was posted on here yesterday. nothing. Only hope is that target start selling games before next sat while deal is still going on but doudt it.

only hope is that amazon does something like that for both systems.

Hopefully Amazon matches the upcoming B2G1 sale at Target. NBA 2K14 for X1 is coming out 11/15, at least according to Amazon. I'll get that and 2 PS4 games if they match the sale.

I'll kind of post this in here as well. If you have GCU with Best Buy and can handle getting reward certs instead of instant gratification then their deal might be the best one.

Take advantage of the $10 preorder credit on certain games and do all three on the same preorder receipt. Then pick all three up at the same time so they are on the same transaction. This will trigger three bonuses. The 20% off one, the $30 in reward certs, and their $25 cert for buying three next gen games. Total for the three games out of pocket is $144+tax and $55 in reward certs after a few weeks. It's not entirely instant but does provide a nice sum of credit to use at a future date.

This method should work.

Will this work with a mix and match on PS4 and Xbox One games? If BB won't do a B2G1, this is my next best option to cash out my credit, I think.

I also checked all my emails, but sadly I did not get a free Xbox One nor did I get KI :(

I got a text from gamestop yesterday that my call of duty for x1 was ready for pick up today . Just got back and they gave it to me . Just wondering if anybody els has picked up any games yet ? Gives me hope for the target deal

alot of people are holding out hope target sells x1 games a week early or amazon matches for both systems

Wow I wasn't excited at all for the kinect but after that demo it's totally a steal at $40 than what the ps4 has going on.

 
In that dashboard preview and such that released today i noticed at the end it says Game DVR only in supported games.  Which is pretty disapointing,  so far i know forza and KI will support it but what about dead rising 3 or battlefiled 4?  the 2 games i wanted to use it in the most -_-

I spent 80 bucks at Best Buy on an additional TV Stand that sits to the side of my actual TV stand, it's holding my Turntable, Stereo, and has a shelf reserved for the XB1. You aren't the only one. I almost got a higher end stereo so I can hook it in, but decided to get a SPDIF to analog converter instead.

I got the text but I plan on using the trade up program and so will not pick mine up until the 22nd.

 
I got a package from Amazon today (a couple Halo art books) and it arrived before 1pm on a Friday, same day as the Xbox One is being delivered.  I hope it's like that in two weeks.

 
Also, for those who wanted to do the free will-call pick-up the UPS depot on Friday morning, I have confirmed it you can and it is a free feature, just like the initial guy who brought it up said it was.

With a UPS My Choice® Membership you can.

I can't decide if I want to keep my X1 ghosts order or not.

I want a good shooter to play but I don't if anyone I know will have the game, and I keep it's just an ok game. I might give it a go,and see if I like it or not before I redeem any codes or anything. If anyone wants to add me the GT is ShinigamiDojima.
 
I chatted with a MS Store rep to confirm they were shipping via UPS, and they are. From what I read, you can change to will call as soon as the package ships. Maybe it will arrive Thursday before close and I will be able to snatch it up early  :bouncy:

For the GS trade-up promo, do you think we'll get the base value of the game on top of the PUR, like the trade 2 for $9.99 works?

I'd like to think so, but doubt it. I think it's just like the $30 guaranteed credit that doesn't stack with promos.

Also wondering if once we trade up, whether we can return the packed game for the $59.99 back. Can't see why not. We'll find out soon, I guess

I'm assuming that story heavy games won't allow it. BF4 and DR3 are both games that I expect to support it.
