Another PayWUW bundle.. this time, not very good.

$1:

Steel Storm Complete

Frozen Hearth Gold

$4:

How to Survive

Would be worth it if How to Survive was in the $1 tier, but the other games are repeats everyone probably has by now.

Before your next uninstall spree http://www.gamesave-manager.com/
Thanks, I'll check that out! I've got a machine on which I'm trying to reclaim some storage space and this might come in handy! I install and dabble in so many games... and then I feel guilty about uninstalling them, intending to go back to them at some point, but lots of times it never happens. They just sit there and hog space.

Good lord. All I did was rate a single game 8/10. How did it start all that shit?

To clarify again, my 8/10 is akin to a school grade. So I give Far Cry 3 an 80%. Maybe in the future I'll just give out percentages, nobody will complain then. Even though, mathefuckingmatically, 8/10 and 80% are the same exact thing.
The reason why this subject irritates me so much is because I've reviewed many games under the constraint of a typical grade-school schema. To try and make better sense out of the scores, we switched to one in which each range of numbers was defined, which ultimately just angered those people expecting a letter-grade equivalency. Ultimately, we ditched numbers altogether.

I get why people want a scale -- tl;dr. They also like to compare scores of other games to support their subjective internet arguments. It's just really stupid when meanings are never given. And so much of a videogame review is subjective that it makes the whole matter of numerical scores infuriating.

I'll tell you this though... game publishers are keenly aware of game scores and let me just say... pretty much all of them view the 1-10 scale in the equivalent terms of grade-school ratings. There's no telling them that "hey, 7 is above average". In fact, some have notoriously connected bonuses to the developer with ratings connected to that scale.

Cool. I have Frozen Hearth (I think from a Gala), but not the Gold Edition (with the Soundtrack/Artbook, which is $7 extra.. and you only save $1 buying the Gold Edition that includes it), and I don't have Steel Storm anything. Thanks Spoder.

I'm disappointed How to Survive is in the higher tier, but I'll take $7 worth of DLC + a complete game for $1.

Ditch numbers and letters. Go with a scale of apes (Gibbons, Siamangs, Chimpanzees on up to Gorillas) or maybe geometric shapes. "I'd give Bioshock Infinite a triangle and a rhombus".

im just gonna start doing this. since 8/10 is apparently impossible for people to get a grip on how i feel about something, maybe random crap will work better. On a scale of Corn Flake Crusade To Minotaur Sex, I give Far Cry 3 about an AJ Lee Spansky

I gave this post a perfect average of 1 out of 1 likes I am allowed to give giving it a 100% perfect mean. To translate from the numerical scale I "liked" this post which for those who aren't into social media or facebook means I liked it.

I have Dark Falls: Lights Out, download version only from Groupees Build A Bundle.  I wonder why they didn't put that one on Steam so I could have a key and see it in my backlog.  How am I supposed to not play it if I can't even see that I own it.  Sheesh!

Edit:  Is there a separate DF Lights Out game or is it really DF 2 and various stores call it different things?  I'm keyless and confused.

Pretty sure I can SAM it, which is all that really matters.

is velvet assassin worth it at .74 cents? lol
I got it for the 360 at a little over $5, and free on Mac. It's probably worth the $5 I paid, or would be if it didn't go so damn cheap/free so often. You could definitely do worse than 74¢ for it.

I'm sort of vaguely considering biting just to see if the controller support is any better on Windows, because my generic 360 controller doesn't map right for this game on Mac and the keyboard controls are awful.

I'm strongly thinking about contributing to a kickstarter for the first time.  Should I?  I know a bunch of regulars have done so.  I know there are no guarantees, blah blah blah, but I would love to see this thing happen.

If anyone cares, it would be an HD remake of Outcast by some of the original team that worked on the game.  Success might mean a sequel could happen.  I loved Outcast way back when.  One of the best games I played with an enjoyable story and a fully realized world, well before other games of it's type.

Thanks for your input.

According to this, it got a 90% from PC Editor so this HD remake has to be worth an additional 10% for an average of 90% +10%/1 = 100%.

Wait - you mean this game did NOT get a 94% score from PC Gamer? ;)

I have Outcast from GOG, BTW - barely touched it. I should play it some time - like some of them other classics GOG games that I have...

EDIT:

You did not clarify. That's like asking Google where is Main Street.
Good point.

I should've clarified.

Convert it to something we can all understand. So you're saying that's about a 38 DD/F on the US Brassiere Measurement and International Fitting standard (underbust) scales? More hands-on testing needed.

(What are we talking about?)

Edit: Imagine how funny those game reviews would be.

"Would motorboat again. 40/FF" - Gamespot

"Firm and tender at the beginning, but sags near the end. 32/B" - IGN
Indie games are better! Sure, they're smaller... but they're perkier!
