Went to gamestop, picked up a few games and also went to the Wal-Mart next store. Saw that they had a game at Wal-Mart for $50 that was $5 new at gamestop, so I tried to pricematch. The associate was skeptical, but he allowed it and took the game and me up to the front. This manager asks him what he's doing, and so he tells him. Then she looks at me, and gives me an aww, hell naaaaawwwww look.
Then she's like "we don't pricematch gamestop because they sell used copies." I was like "uhhhh, this game is $5 NEW at gamestop, if you want, I can give you the number to call them. So I give her the number and show her on my phone that I searched GAMESTOP PHONE NUMBER and she calls them, and basically goes "I have to deny you because they're not selling new copies. It's $5 for a used copy." I told her, no it was not, that she was wrong. And she was like "Don't you TELL ME that I'm wrong." There's a gamestop like RIGHT NEXT door so I go over there and ask how much the price of a new copy is, and they told me that it was $5. I said that "I was trying to pricematch at walmart next door, and that if Wal-Mart calls again, could they tell them that it was $5 at gamestop?" They said sure, no problem. They were happy to help me because I left them positive feedback on the customer survey and bought some games from them today, plus I'm always friendly with them.
So I go back to Wal-Mart, and ask if they can call gamestop again, and she calls again and tells me the exact same thing. "They ain't selling it for $5 new, it's $5 for a used copy." I told her NO, it was $5 for a NEW copy," and then she proceeds to tell me that gamestop doesn't sell games new, that they basically take games, burn them onto discs and then sell them as new. That it's reconditioned at gamestop and doesn't include the plastic shrink-wrap because it's a burned disc. And she gave me this gem "we get our games straight from Wii unlike gamestop, so no, I'm not giving you the pricematch". At this point, I just told her I wanted the number for corporate, and then she smiles and goes it's 1-800 Wal-Mart. HAVE A NICE DAY SIR!!!"
I called corporate, and they connected me to the assistant manager of ANOTHER store and he says he's going to look into it, but I'm like... "since you're the assistant manager of this OTHER store, are you going to be able to help me?" and he's like yeah, no problem!" I tell him what happened and he tells me to give him my number and he'll call me back. He calls back and goes, I'm sorry, you have to call the store you tried to price match, I can't help you." So I'm like "great, not getting this because of course they're going to say no, they denied me in the first place. So I call the other store, and guess who picks up? The ***** that denied me in the first place. I tell her I want to speak to the store manager, and the store manager basically tells me that he spoke with her, and she told me that gamestop isn't selling it new, but used. Basically lying. I tried to argue it, but then he basically screamed at me and said "WE ARE NOT GOING TO PRICE MATCH IT!"
TL;DR,

Wal-Mart. They're a shitty ass company and I hope they burn to the ground.
This made me actually appreciate gamestop more as they were very friendly and helpful with me and were willing to talk to wal-mart and everything. I went back into gamestop after and updated them on what was going on, and they were sympathetic towards me. I felt like those people actually cared and were trying to be helpful and honest, unlike

ing wal-mart.
