@Cainiac/Topside - offer still stands..

fucking Christ. Jason in Far Cry 3 starts on fire way too easily, and takes way too long to put himself out. He must be made of paper or something.
Yuup! Lol, that's the only thing that really gives me any trouble. Sometimes I'll just accidentally step in a camp fire and erupt in a blaze, lol. Then as I'm holding down triangle while trying to evade an enemy I'll wander Into a field and just make shit worse.

I meant to mention earlier that I'm playing strictly ranged and stealth. So that might be why I'm finding the encounters easier than you. Silencers equipped on everything and I use the recurve bow. Also, once you unlock all the chain takedowns it makes taking out a cluster much easier.

That's what she said.

Does PoP: Sands of Time get any better, and are the other two games better than SoT? I never played these during their original release days, but I started the PS3 collection. I really like the platforming, but the combat is really boring so far. The dialogue is also too fucking muffled. It sucks even more since you can't turn on subtitles.
PoP: SoT is one of my favorite games ever

the night crew in my opinion is Corg, ninja, break fuss, stellar and ???

Oh, you didn't respond to me earlier so I assumed that you either had second thoughts or you had finally put me on the ignore list.

That's great news. I'm not going to mess with it while I'm on my phone at work, but it should take me all of five minutes to find when I get home. Why do I get the feeling that your definition of "baiting" is going to be different from mine and I won't see a penny from you?

I don't think you are who ctrlc was talking about
Definitely not. Most of the normal crew are posting pretty late tonight but there is generally a huge shift in quality around 9-10 PM PST or so because of shit like what I just quoted above you. Also, snakey posts around then. NinjaSquirrel is forgettable, Xtina is forgettable, Stellar is eh, breakfuss is cool though, even when he's starting shit and then playing the victim.

Topside is one of my favorites but he doesn't really post until way early morning.

Not like it matters. We dont have to make alts to hide behind. :p
Nope.

I'll probably get another "fuck you" from Stotch for this, but I always thought Ctrl and Stotch were the same. Their writing style and wordage and sense of humor are just so damn similar. :whistle2:

And fuck you guys hating on the night crew, which basically consists of me and whoever can't sleep on that particular night.
I'm here, whether I'm wanted or not :whee:

So Equistina, CTRLC, and Tyler think I suck. Thats cool homie.
I still like you.

You can really feel the love tonight.

Not sure why I feel so compelled to go for this Far Cry 3 platinum.  Oh well, I'm in this deep now, might as well go all the way.  The only annoying trophy i have left is the rock throwing one.  Still have the co-op stuff to do to.

I'll do the co op with ya. it wasnt that bad. lol. im night crew too when I remember.

I just got level 99 in dragon's crown and beat the normal game with all heroes other than wizard. woot

Any trick to leveling fast or did you just grind it out? I remember playing on my vita and remember thinking I wouldn't want to play the game 4 times with the different characters to plat.

I just would keep it rolling through all the dungeons and do the trailblazer bonus xp on infernal and keep it going with multi bags. You gain so many levels that way

I finished it. I can't call it one of my favorite games ever, but it was fun. Definitely one of the best PS2 games, IMO. The puzzles and platforming are top-notch. That section in the Hall of Learning with the light beam puzzle is classic, and probably one of my favorite levels in any 3D platformer. I'm still not a fan of the combat, though it did become less of a chore as you upgrade your sword.

Speaking of the combat
it felt so good towards the end, when Farrah goes missing, and you get that upgraded sword that just lets you mow everything down.

if you're shooting for the plat, here's my unsolicited advice:

- take an hour or so to try out or read about all the classes and what they can do. you'll be sticking with one character for 99 levels and that takes a while, so keep in mind how you like to play. I played the dwarf because he's the closest thing to a tank there is and I was playing a lot of solo.

- play the coop a lot. like velo said, if you turn on the xp modifier prayers and tour on coop your xp just keeps going up and up (by that I mean it scales every round - ex. the first map might be 1x xp, the second might be 1x xp and 1.5 gold, the third 1.5xp and 2x gold the fourth 2.5xp and 3x gold, etc etc). it definitely encourages long play sessions. on infernal in a decent length session (an hour or so) it's not unusual to pop up 5+ levels until you're in the 90s.

- as far as playing all the characters trophywise the only requirement is to have them beat the first difficulty. with a patch they took out the requirement of having to replay the 2 hour tutorial for each one, so it's not too bad. save it for last, and you'll usually have a pile of AI skeleton partners that are in the 90s levelwise. since they're shared between characters you can add them to your new character's team and have them do most of the heavy lifting for all of the levels. when I did my elf run I don't think I did much but move around the map trying not to die.

- speaking of skeleton AI pals, keep in mind that you can't repair their gear and once they break most of their stuff they're virtually worthless. so if you're doing a lot of soloing, make sure you always save a handful of them for later. if you need more, just coop on infernal for an hour and you'll probably pick up a solid dozen or so.

- learn what the gourmand trophy is and start tracking early. it's a pain if you don't know what you've cooked and what you haven't.

edit - the xp scaling thing happens solo too, it's just a crapload harder to survive without real people for as long as you'll want to. also, velo mentioned this too, buy multiple bags for gear and outfit all of them with decent stuff so you can keep going when your gear breaks. it may not seem important, but it is!

A lot of you guys are super skinny.  A buddy of mine in HS was 6'2" and 185 and he was a rail.  He was blown over by a light breeze.

I am 5'10" 215.  I have a 6 pack...of beer in my gut.  But otherwise...

I'm 5'10" 143, after the weight I've gained recently. Hoping to be up to 160 by the end of the year.

I'd have bought CoL already if not for the shitty day-1 DLC. That pisses me off, as does the EU physical release getting all of the DLC but our version getting nothing.
