So, I've got about ten hours logged on Risk of Rain now.  It's a relatively enjoyable and well-designed roguelike that for some reason I keep picking up, instead of getting to better games in my backlog.  Negatives: having the same three attacks the whole game starts to feel stale after a while, the graphics are shit, randomness can screw you like in most rogue-likes.  Positives: items are fun, many different characters to play, difficulty is challenging but reasonable once you get used to it.  The level and item system is addictive but ultimately feels a bit hollow; a little more atmosphere would have gone a long way.  On the plus side the music is awesome.

On my G600 MMO Gaming Mouse (which I've had since the end of March 2014), my left-mouse button turned to toast.

Tried to use the Mouse's left-button on any of the PC's in my mouse - no go. Whether in game or not - no go.

Had to do a RMA on it.

Daily Deal
Shadowgate - $19.99 $6.99
Worth noting that, for a limited time, this is a "Retro Bundle" which also includes original Apple versions of both Shadowgate and Deja Vu.

Anyone know if there is a difference in content between Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box on Steam vs. Origin?

I have both version and finally decided to play it but I can't tell if there are any differences between the versions.

*paging MysterD*
I don't recall any differences b/t the 2 versions.

BTW - if you have it on Steam, check the Registry after you do the download.

There might be a key in the registry for the Origin version, so you can add that to your Origin account.
Just in case anyone else was wondering about this:

I opened Origin to try installing that version of Burnout Paradise but it had already detected my Steam version and showed the game as installed. I used the "repair game" feature in Origin and it downloaded some extra files. I then opened the game through Steam and had some motorcycles and extra cars that I did not have before.

As far as I can tell, a lot of the big console DLC like Big Surf Island never officially made it into the PC version, although modders have managed to unlock some of the content. So I feel that "Ultimate Box" may be a bit of a misnomer!

Amazon Gold Box deal for today includes some Logitech gaming devices that may interest some folks here. There are two gaming mice, the F310 gamepad, headsets, keyboard, Gameboard and racing wheel. I don't follow prices so these may or may not be good deals:

If you can hold out for Black Friday and need a mouse, Best Buy is going to have the Logitech G502 for $79.99 with a free $50 Steam Gift Card included, valid from 27th to the 29th. Flip the mouse for ~$50+ on ebay if you don't need it, and make out like a banditpirate.

Link to the circular

Only cavaet is no confirmation about it being online too (just rumours), but if it is just B&M, noope.
I was ready to make some snide remark about Steam gift card deals, but this is gold.

Can anyone recommend a wireless keyboard with built in touchpad? I am moving my current gaming rig out to the living to be my new HTPC and Steam Big Picture machine and figured that style keyboard should work out well. any other suggestions gladly welcome.

I've used lots of those Rii mini style keypads, but just can't live with the tiny nature of them. I used a Logitech K400 for a while and it was a decent compromise between size and functionality, but the construction is awful in my opinion. The keyboard feels cheap and is not fluid to type on, but there wasn't much else out there until recently. I have since switched to a Logitech K830 and it pretty much meets all of my desires. It feels fairly solid, isn't terribly large, and has a good feel when typing. And being backlit is certainly a plus I was looking for.

Yea, the K400 is a popular budget choice, and does its job well overall if you don't intend to type too much. The touchpad is fairly responsive with good range, but the KB layout is not quite standard (due to size) and needs a little getting used to. It does have the cheap plastic feeling to it which is noticeable when you're holding it and hear the creaky noises whenever it flexes a bit.

But for $20 or less and regularly on sale, its tough to pass up especially when the next best choices are 2-3 times the cost with essentially the same funtionality.

I hope you washed it out first. ;)

In 3 days, prepare to be disappointed for 6 days

think of it as a warm up for the great disappointment a couple weeks later.

I'm using the "Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400" on my HTPC right now. It's ho humm okay, I guess. I use it almost exclusively for XBMC.
