Lots of people have gamecube controllers already. I think I have 12-15 controllers of various colors that I got from yard sales. There was no adapter until late nov 2014.
 
FYE in MN never got any of the Rares of Wave 2, Falcon, Pit or Mac as I'm aware as I call them about their amiibos frequently as well as visit their shop
 
I get the feeling that GS isn't going to be able to fulfill all of their wave 3 preorders. Every other retailer seems to be sold out or have stopped taking preorders, except GS. 

EDIT* Looks like WM still has them up too... though they're a much bigger retailer and is more likely to get stock.

JESUS Christ people just wait till the holidays are over i'm sure they're gonna release the waves again as already confirmed by nintendo reps from various retailers

Ya I did the same thing unless it was pit, falcon, or Little Mac. I just returned it... Figured I'll make some trade with those 3 when wave 3 hits

They're invoiced separately but I don't think I don't recall seeing anyone report results. Not sure if I'm keeping my order or going to return it. Have the Hori controller coming on Monday and if that's suitable I may just stick with that since it's a lot cheaper (and more useful) option right now.

The retail season extends through January because of returns, gift cards, etc. so people are still shopping at a high volume.

This has never been confirmed anywhere by anyone who has the authority to speak on such matters.
 
So I'm not too enthused about wading through 300 pages of posts.  I noticed that the BBY exclusive Meta Knight is "Sold Out Online."  What does this mean?  Have they started taking pre-orders on it or are all the pre-orders gone?

Yea... they were doing Meta Knight pre-orders quite a while ago. Might be out of luck when it comes to him.

 
Hi everyone, glad to now be able to post. I had been following this website and thread for a little while now and finally decided to make an account. Got myself somewhat into the Amiibo craze a little while ago once I found out that some might not be so readily obtainable in the future (apart from resellers), but came in a little late. I want to say thanks for all the updates you guys have posted whenever one has come back in stock, even if they were there only for a few minutes- I managed to get Pit and Captain Falcon from Amazon that way. Hopefully I can help you all in a similar way.

My most wanted Amiibo is Little Mac, which... I've had absolutely no luck with, online or in-store. Hopefully that will change soon!

 
Marth's available on Best Buy's website.  However, its only available for Store Pickup and no-one around me for hundreds of miles qualify. Don't know where they would be able to be sold.  Maybe someone will get lucky.

 
Does anyone know if Best Buy is getting another shipment of wave 2? When I put in "pick up in store" for Diddy Kong, it shows me a list of BB stores near me that will have it in 3-5 days. The thing is it gives me an error when I add to cart. I want to get Diddy from BB because of the GCU, but according to Target PDAs, there's about 15-20 Diddys in a few Targets near me.

Also, that feel when I read people being able to preorder Meta Knight but spelling his name like Mega Knight. And thread title.

 
Lol, I saw some guy putting all the Star Fox amiibos in his cart at Walmart. There must have been at least 6 or 7 in his cart.

I haven't been following this thread lately, but I remember a few weeks ago people were saying Fox was going to be rare, I guess he ended up being rare after all.

As far as I know, Pit and Captain Falcon have yet to make appearance at Toys'R'us stores. If anyone has seen them, please let me know. Thanks!

bestbuy did the same thing with my smash bros wii u bundle.. they "shipped it" but never gave it to ups. Took me months to get a refund.

Seems like they do that when the item is really rare

It doesn't look like any TRU except a few (and I mean like 5-6 stores total) have them right now unless they were returned from an online order. Checking by item number only yields a couple of stores that supposedly have one piece in stock; in fact, if you do a product category lookup, Pit and Falcon don't even show up at all in the instore systems because they haven't come in and sold.

 
Was at GS today and saw lots of TONS of Diddy Kong, Zelda and Luigi.

Also plenty of Samus, so I don't think she's in the danger zone, yet. I don't remember if I saw Fox. I don't think so.

called them up and asked why they have been preparing to ship since the 29th, rep said they're system shows a ship date of 1/7/15. I think someone else got an email response saying the same thing

Here's hoping that's the case - I've managed to get a Luigi, Pit, & Cap elsewhere (via Lootcrate, Gamestop, & Target, respectively) but I'm waiting for my BB.com orders to come through so I can pick one of each to open up & add to my display stand! :D

yeah i think for diddy/mac/zelda they pushed back in-store pick ups to get ship to home orders on time. with people getting their pick ups on time for cdjf/pit/luigi they must have pushed back ship to home orders this time, i am expecting delayed ship to home orders to be the norm here on out

I guess I should count my blessings - my Pit and Captain Falcon figures arrived on Friday. Though Luigi, the most common of the three, is *still* "preparing for shipment". Ended up picking him up in-store instead, and I'll just return the late one once it finally arrives.

Best Buy AD for 1/4/15 Shows Meta Knight "Now Pre-ordering". Still OOS online, maybe some saved for in-store only reservations? Or did they just use Meta Knight as a default image to indicate that they are simply pre-ordering Amiibos.

Think it might have went OOS briefly but the two controller bundle has been in stock every time I've looked since they put it up on New Year's Eve. Still can't get the adapter anywhere else but Nintendo promised more so we might be on the verge of that. GS might have gotten their supply already so they started selling them off as bundles a week or two ago knowing it was coming. Or maybe GS pulled another Xenoblade and managed to exclusively get the restock on them and is going to pull more shenanigans.

 
I have never seen the gamecube adaptor in store til this day. Even Nintendo World never gets them in. Must be rarer than the holy trinity.
Just waiting anxiously for more wave 3 info ! And wave 4 if they'll give it to us :)

Those ads are typically drawn up and planned out far ahead of time before the ad date - so I'm sure that BBY didn't anticipate that MK pre-orders would be as intense as they were when they put a picture in the ad.
