Thanks. I'm on the East coast so my GS will probably get their shipment in closer to Wednesday. I'll call them tomorrow to make sure everything is OK with my preorder.

You realize that most companies probably did a risk assessment on air shipping costs vs. port delay, right? You also realize that you can't just route a vessel already destined to a west coast port to an east coast port. Even if they have the logistics in place to route a vessel from a west coast port to an east coast port the additional transit time would be worse then waiting for a west coast port, plus additional vessel costs.

 
Came into a best buy for meta knight and it said they had 3. They didn't have any. There's another store that says they have 5 (not preorders) so I might try later when I'm out there for work.

There's a best buy that says they have 17. It's 45 miles from me and in the middle of fuckin nowhere.

Yes but what I'm saying is that everyone was affected by the port strike, it was likely a business decision on Nintendo's part to try their luck on this while other retailers were willing to pay extra to guarantee stock made it to stores. You can't redirect a vessel destined for the west coast but you can make a decision that its not worth the risk to send it there and just air freight it or send the ship to a east coast port and eat the cost.

Went to Best Buy this morning. I was first one, and within a hour later, about 18 people showed up. All just for meta knight.

Manager came outside before the store opening and apologized that they do not have any meta knight and gave us discount paper toward any Wii U or 3ds games.

That was crazy, and I told my lil bro that I couldn't get meta knight for him. Got him sheik, and he's excited about that, so that makes my day.

 
Do you guys think I could go into Best Buy and ask for the $5 coupon? I was technically at two stores this morning, but all the figures were claimed by the time I got there (Over an hour before store open. Crazy.)

true but at the same time the government should also take a stronger stance to. The Ports are a essential part of this country economy due to trade from other countries and this strike is dampening the economy in many ways and preventing goods from reaching consumers which mean less money both from taxes and other outlets. And could cause potential problems with trade latter as retailers and countries both second guess there decisions to use the ports next or find another loophole.

Yes every worker should be entitled to strike for rights but at the same time certain essential jobs that affect the country in such a big way should not be allowed to such as the case with the ports as it causing havoc with the economy. It the same reason why Police, Military, Fire Department, Hospitals and other essential parts of the country infrastructure are actually not allowed to strike by law.

Possibly, but do you think the $5 is worth driving there? If you are passing by I would give it a shot, but it doesn't seem worth it to go out of your way.

Well, it's not terribly out of my way since I pass two of them on the way home, and I wanted to drop in for my streetpasses and to possibly buy a random Amiibo anyway.

Yeah well this is what happens when you have a state like California where the politicians are indebted to labor unions. You might as well suggest that they try and reform the teacher's tenures while your at it. Everyone has the right to strike but I always do chuckle when people are blindly pro union and anti-business since an excess of either ends up fucking over the public.

Truth be told he gave my Little Mac preorder away and called every GS showing stock in the country only to be told that the Little Mac they had was for them or another employee. He hooked me up with a pretty good discount on some games to rectify the situation and now calls when any Amiibo come in the make sure I get one
 
So, I went to Gamestop first this morning to pick up Fox knowing that my odds of getting lucky at BBY were slim to none. I swing by BBY afterwards and get confirmation of that. Apparently it was a real mess over there at opening, and nothing's left.

Then I found a random copy of Cubic Ninja at a Walmart for $10. So, meh.

 
I havent been following the thread, but has anyone gotten a "dirty" meta knight? I ordered 3, and 2 of them just have some of the dirtiness but the silver is mostly shiny. The other one is more dirty looking than shiny. I can post pics later tonight but too busy now.

im in PA lancaster picked up my preorders at 10:15 am-ish and heard there were alot of ppl camping out and the fact they only had one extra damn i know some ppl were pissed as its cold as balls right now.
 
My BB is the best for in store pickup. DeDeDe joins his brothers and sisters! No $5 off coupons though but I might swing by tomorrow to talk to a manager as I was in a rush.
