Xbox One - General Discussion Thread

Havent heard anything about RDR 2. I dont think Rock Star even goes to E3?
RDR2 was just listed on a survey put out by Ubisoft, really doubt Ubisoft is privy to what is going on over at Rock Star so take that rumor with a grain of salt. Also you are correct, unless they are a surprise at E3, they said they won't be there.

I hope there are no more leaks. I actually like to be surprised when watching E3. That is part of the fun not knowing and seeing something totally unexpected.

Seems more leaks happen each year. Which is probably why some developers are announcing and showing games early, like Fallout 4. At least if they do it early it can be announced on their terms. With that said, hopefully e3 still has a good amount of surprises up its sleeve.

Under the General Gaming Forum, I created a dedicated e3 thread. If anyone wants to come talk about all things e3 and even help keeping the OP updated with information.

Veryay likely Rock Star isn't going to E3, as every year, but that doesn't mean the big three will not talk about their multiplatform games coming to their consoles - less so with Nintendo.

Rockstar might not be going to E3 but it could very well be that Microsoft will fly someone from Rockstar over to talk about or demo the game.

Speaking of xbox, I am very curious on what Forza 6 will be. After the whole Forza 5 problem of not a lot of tracks.

Or Sony. Sony had a deal with GTA so could be that again.

Now comes that moment I regret dumping my Xbox One.......I'll have to jump back in now towards the Holiday's. >_>

Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility works for Discs and Digital and features like Game DVR, Screenshots, Broadcasting and Streaming to a Windows 10 PC will all work. It's worth noting however that not all games will work and they'll launch it with 100+ games and add more over time.

In other news this is making that GAF Rumor that they're discontinuing the Xbox 360 more believable.

So we can play 360 games on Xbox One now, but that means there is no save file? So essentially you start from scratch on Xbox One right?

I'm confused. I'm wondering what the interactive live events app has going different for it this E3. Think there will be a surprise for those of us watching via it?

I haven't own a 360 in years, but I thought you had the option to store saves in the cloud. So presumably you'd start right back up on the Xbox One where you left off.

Backward compatibility is a monster megaton, fallout 3 with fallout 4, rainbow 6 games free with the new one..  Xbox One just pulled it's ace and it's huge..

This also is going to make EA Access even better because now they can put 360 games in there also..

Incredible..

what I don't get is if BC compatibility is available by an update, why wait this long and not make it a launch feature...  Seems like MS realized they had to do something, so a feature that was blocked to help developers make money is now being removed to bolster the titles.  Great move by MS now though.

For the past few months, the dashboard preview members have been getting little updates with very few features added. My guess is that they've been working on this for some time, because they refused to say what these updates were preparing for but admitted that they are prepping for something.

Come on now, don't turn this into some conspiracy theory ordeal. They've changed so much about the Xbox One OS since launch this is probably something that took a lot of research and coding before it became possible. I wouldn't be surprised if they thought about BC day one, but you have seen how many features announced from both Microsoft and Sony got pushed back when the consoles launched and were added over time.

In other news I don't think they should have opened with the Xbox 360 BC and new controller. This conference is taking a nosedive and is really boring.

What is essentially "Early Access" coming to Xbox One is a terrible announcement. It's a garbage program on Steam and it'll probably be a mess up the Xbox One as well.

Conference was terrible with the exception of the BC Announcement and new controller. Pacing was horrible and they barely showed any game-play and the game-play they did show was scripted as hell. I'd give it 5/10 or 6/10 just because it was a big disappointment minus the two big announcements they shouldn't have opened on.

Phil Spencer mentioned they have a lot more to show during their Xbox sit down show (I forget the name) later  throughout E3, but I'm not sure why that wasn't shown now.

Rare Collection Looks great and is an amazing value at $30.

Tomb Raider Launches the same day as Fallout 4 so it'll be a disaster.

Gears of War is a remaster of only the first game which is a big disappointment and it sounds like it won't hold a solid 60fps.

Rare's new Pirate Game looked interesting as hell. I'll be keeping an eye on it in the future.

And on a final note Kinect is all but dead which is fantastic.

Okay Mr. Poopy Pants. I loved the show. In addition, how do you think those voice commands were supposed to be picked up?

was it a great conf no but it was decent. i feel this year their main goal was to show of exclusive titles more then anything which they did and alot of them.

No kidding, what a negative reaction to what was an excellent press conference. Early access on Xbox One is huge, backwards compatibility is great, Rare collection is amazing, tons of awesome exclusive titles, exclusive content for Fallout 4 on Xbox One, and much more. I was probably least interested in the Gears announcement, but I'll definitely still play it. Tomb Raider releasing the same day as Fallout I wouldn't call a disaster, two entirely different types of games and I have no problem picking them both up as they both look fantastic (already pre-ordered my Pip-Boy edition for Fallout 4).

Looking forward to see what Sony has on the table tonight. E3 has been good so far, but nothing too crazy so-far.

I thought the conference was pretty great. I can't wait to get home and play the Gears of War beta and possibly UMvC 3 if its playable on Xbox One(doubtful but one can hope).  The only things I didn't like were the cgi trailers and no fable 4 announcement. Fable legends looks cool but I really want a new mainline Fable game with huge open world like The Witcher 3.  The fall lineup for Xbox One this year is gonna be incredible.

That's also suicide that Tomb Raider is releasing the same day as Fallout 4.
I disagree, it will affect the sales. But they need to have it out before Uncharted 4 and it's a completely different type of game. I think a lot of Xbox One owners will do what I am doing and buy both Tomb Raider and Fallout 4.

So the Kinect isn't dead because they used some Voice Commands? There's absolutely no game support for it moving forward and they completely distanced themselves from Kinect at the show because aside from the Voice Commands you mentioned which they barely used, they didn't show or talk about Kinect at all.

Early Access on Xbox One is terrible. It's a mess on PC because people often release broken games and barely fix them. You're basically paying for a game that isn't done and won't be guaranteed to be finished which is a terrible policy to be supporting.

Backwards Compatibility is a huge deal and honestly it'll probably be a huge system selling feature. That being said the BC announcement was the only good thing that came out of the conference and that was something they should have closed with because it set a high bar for the rest of the conference to follow

The game announcements for the rest of the conference just weren't good. I want to see actual game-play not CGI trailers and heavily scripted game-play scenarios. It was especially disappointing because Phil Spencer has been hyping E3 as being "All about the games" and it didn't feel like that to me.

(Edit) Also while Tomb Raider and Fallout may not be the same genre gamer's will be attracted to both titles and Fallout has a lot more momentum and a larger following.

I would not expect Microsoft to dedicate a part of their show to Kinect when there are other new and exciting things to feature. Kinect is not PS Move. It's still integrated into the OS and seems to be integrated into Hololense. Pointing that out just takes from the show.

Long short: PS move is dead. Kinect is still in use, but isn't expanding. Big woop.

I thought it was a decent show.

+ The whole Minecraft stuff looked really cool and innovated, but minecraft was one of the few games i regretted buying. Its a nice game just not what i want to pour hours into. But what they did with the table was really cool.

+ I did think that elite controller looked fantastic, i wish sony had one similar.

+ Gears 4 was what i was really looking forward to and it didnt disappoint. Though the main guy did kind of look like a generic baird. But the gameplay, darkness, and overall gameplay looked pretty cool. The creatures he did fight resembled a locust a bit, so idk where they are going story wise. Not out until 2016, time to wait on buying an X1 i guess.

... Did they show Gears 1 remastered? My stream froze and when it came back it was showing Gears 4 gameplay. So i might have missed it.

+ Tomb Raider looked fantastic.

+ Dark Souls Trailer was pretty cool too.

- Disappointed in no show for Crackdown. I know they mentioned they would show it later but i wanted to see it NOW! I dont know when they are going to show it off later and im not going to watch E3 streams all day long. Should have put all your good stuff in this 1-2 hour show.
