It is pretty decent, straight horror and very bloody. They take the setting and plot, but tweak the premise slightly which give the "evil" part in the film a little more metaphorical meaning.

What was your complaint about the end of Man of Steel? From a moviegoer perspective the huge fight at the end was very overdone, IMO, but from the standpoint of characterization I think they did a good job. The trailer here actually turned me off a bit to Dawn of Justice simply because of the ruling that Superman was responsible. That's bullshit, I think. He gave himself up and Zod was going to kill everybody on Earth anyway, at which point Supes fought back. Yeah people died in that fight, which sucks, but look at the alternative. Hard to blame that on the guy. That the movie does so makes it far less appealing because I don't want to see the character beaten down for something that wasn't his fault.
I did the same, it's not too bad to go back. Just go in to a race and don't worry about winning to relearn the controls, only takes a minute. You'll be replaying each course 100 times anyhow.
