Oh, yeah, if you have a baby, i guarantee that was it. If my son has my vita in his hands for more than 10 seconds, he gets it on, exits whatever game i have suspended, and is in the store. It's a running joke with my wife, because it's happened at least 6 times and the kid doesn't actually get device screen time so i think it's a natural skill of kids 2 and under.
As a father of 3 myself, turning on the requirement for a password on any purchases was the first thing I did with my PSN account. So yeah they can grab free stuff and anything already purchased but paid stuff needs my approval.

But bigger than that, a word of warning to anyone with little kids .. be careful what you let them play. No joke, when my oldest son (now 16) was 2 or so I let him play a gameboy and made the mistake of putting Bonk's Adventure in it. Right, that's just jumping around and stuff... no big deal. What did he pick up? Occasionally headbutting me. It took just the once to realize my mistake. So, even the most innocent of games without blood or scary creatures or whatever can backfire. Zelda makes them want to get sticks and slice trees, bushes, flowers... etc. Even as older kids, Zelda games have that effect.

When I worked at walmart(ugh) we were always in trouble for having items on the shelf with the wrong price. my understanding was if it was priced that way and the item was there it had to be sold at that price until corrected. someone couldnt come back a week later and say it was cheaper because of a price mistake before and want it. we were fined many times too.
Fined? As in they took money out of your paycheck for that? That sounds illegal, frankly. But what do I know.
Might be a state thing. I think here in California, stores can get fined if things ring up differently than advertised. There's a Target store that has a sign posted by the entrance saying they failed and were fined on such and such date.

This includes not taking off sales labels on Saturday when the new Sunday ad rolls into effect.

Yeah. We don't let our 2 year old have much if any screen time. On rare occasions he gets to play a jigsaw puzzle game - he likes them in real life. But in general, nothing. Not sure when we'll let him play stuff... he has older cousins that are thoroughly addicted to minecraft [as in, we went on vacation with them and instead of exploring/playing/etc they spent the vast majority of the week playing the same tablets they'd play at home and freaking out if someone even suggested they put them down to do something] and we don't want to walk ourselves into that, but obviously balancing all that is a hard road nowadays. Another set of cousins are addicted to tv. Back in my day, we went outside and ran around and shot each other with fake guns.

I haven't put a pw on my vita yet because I'm secretly hoping he'll buy me a good game and I can just tell my wife 'whattayagonnado?'

"We" meaning the store. The state would fine us for having items priced wrong. They would come through and do audits, I never witnessed it but I was there when managers started to freak out and tell us to stop what were doing and make sure things were in the right "Home".

The big new update for Rocket League is live with Mutators and the Mutator Mashup unranked playlist. Along with are seven new community flags, 13 new video game antennas (Fallout, Oddworld, Driveclub, and Unreal Tournament named in the update), titles, and some smaller tweaks.

Uh... what?

Poster means Child of Light.
Errr derp. Yea sorry was late. I meant Child of Light =P Anyone compare the ps3 and ps4 versions? Wondering if the ps4 version looks much better or what. I'd rather play on ps3 if its not a big difference performance/look wise.

Yea pretty sure thats the case here in Cali. I remember ack when i worked at Target we had to honor that stuff

Super Dodge Ball out tomorrow for PS4 for $7.99? Sign me up! It's weird that I just bought a Kunio-Kun game last week on PSN and now another one is being made available this week.

I was hoping that's what you meant, but I wouldn't have put it past Wal-Mart either way.

After my first game of Mortal Kombat, I attempted to rip my Father's head off, but wasn't strong enoughbto pull it off, so I did the splits and punched him in the balls. Since I was already 13 years old when Mortal Kombat came out, I ended up doing time for assault in juvenile corrections.

That's too bad. If you'd been 14 and used a hammer you'd be a top contender for the next president by now.

I used to love those dodge ball games. Wish we'd get a modern one.
There was an updated Kunio-Kun Dodgeball released by the makers of the original game on XBLIG. You have to search hard for it since the title is in Japanese but it's still there. The most fun game of the series is the Neo-Geo version which also has the best graphics and animations in my opinion but if you don't own a Neo-Geo, there's only one other way to play it. And I've already said too much.

Aqua Moto Racing Utopia is coming to the PS4 from the Wii U:

5 Star Wrestling is somehow returning with a PS4 edition and an actual promotion featuring Rey Mysterious:

Serious Parody Ltd, the Dundee games development studio behind the 5 Star Wrestling video game series, today announced that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio, has signed on to be a character in their newly announced PlayStation 4 title - 5 Star Wrestling: ReGenesis.

Billed as the “The Pro Evolution Soccer of Professional Wrestling Games”, ReGenesis is set to launch in early 2016 and will look to focus on fun yet strategic gameplay. “We here at Serious Parody have huge plans for 5 Star Wrestling and signing the absolute greatest high flyer of all time, Rey Mysterio, is not only an incredible step in the right direction for our company but on a personal level, as a life long wrestling fan, it’s a dream come true to work with one of the very best wrestlers in history. Rey Mysterio could sign with the WWE at anytime but he has chosen to work with us instead; it’s truly surreal and hopefully a sign of big things to come.” said Serious Parody Founder & CEO: Dan Hinkles.

That’s not all.

Serious Parody have launched 5 Star Wrestling as a major new wrestling promotion and today have announced the 5 Star Wrestling: ReGenesis Tour, kicking off January 13th in the Newcastle Metro Arena, before moving to the Sheffield Arena on the 14th of January and then hosting a 5 Star show at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday the 15th. “We are aiming to smash records with the 5 Star Wrestling: ReGenesis Tour. These are by far the biggest wrestling shows that a UK promoter has ever hosted and we’ve signed an army of the best wrestlers from around the world to host 3 incredible nights of 5 Star Wrestling entertainment.”

If the first match announcement is anything to go by, it’s no exaggeration either.

On January 14th, for the first time ever, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio, will take on the former IWGP and TNA World Heavyweight Champion: AJ Styles, in a truly historic dream match that has never been possible before now. “AJ Styles is arguably the greatest wrestler on the planet today. Top tier wrestling personalities including Stone Cold Steve Austin, Taz and Jim Ross, have all recently pointed out that he should be applying his trade in the WWE. To have him go one-on-one with Rey Mysterio… there honestly isn’t a bigger match that a wrestling promoter other than Vince McMahon himself could make right now. It’s never been possible before and who knows if it will ever happen again and I’m so excited to be able to give wrestling fans an opportunity to see this match.” said Hinkles.

Tickets for these historic events, go on sale Thursday, November 12th, over on 5StarWrestling.co.uk and wrestling fans should pay close attention to the 5 Star Wrestling Facebook page, as several major announcements will be made over the coming weeks in relation to the shows and the video game series. “We have done everything we can to sign the ultimate roster for these events and there are more historic matches still to be announced.”

I have no clue how this is happening after that awful PS3 launched last year.

The Fenix Rage devs are being pushed to change the name of their game because of legal pressure from somebody with the rights to the "Rage" name.
Probably Bethesda, makers of the amazing Scrolls lawsuit
:

Indie game developer Green Lava Studios has been hard at work finalizing the addictive 2D action platformer Fenix 4@93 on the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One, the all-in-one games system from Microsoft. With brand new features, play modes, and fine-tuned gameplay, the frenzied platform experience everyone loved on PC has been perfected for current-gen consoles.

Due to legal reasons, the Fenix 4@93 game name has to change for the PS4 and Xbox One versions, courtesy of an unmentioned game corporation that has claimed specific naming rights to the word 4@93. The three-man Costa Rican team at Green Lava is disappointed in all this legal wrangling, but is not deterred from bringing its wicked-style of gaming fun to consoles this holiday season.

Step into the shoes of Fenix, a really sweet creature of speed and (blocky) cuteness…then feel his boundless rage. He is pissed! You would be too if your village was decimated by a huge explosion (and your game name was legally blocked!), leaving only two survivors: Fenix and the mysterious enemy Oktarus. Fenix will track down this shadowy villain through nine worlds, defeating righteously brutal bosses and hundreds of minions bent on his destruction, on a mission to return order and harmony back to his world.

Winner of the Gamemaker Showcase Game Of The Year award, Fenix 4@93 is in development for PlayStation®4, and the Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft. For the latest buzz and upcoming features, follow Fenix 4@93 on Twitter, and “Like” the game on Facebook.

FAQ

Q: So, a video game company is copyrighting the word “Rage”?
A: We didn’t say that, but seems that way, yes.

Q: That’s pretty lame, don’t you think?
A: There’s evidently a price for lameness that we can’t afford. But thankfully at Green Lava our awesomeness is relatively inexpensive.

Q: Fenix Ra…, er, your game was pretty awesome, how are you making it more so for PS4 and Xbone?
A: More info about what’s new in the upcoming Fenix game will be announced soon, but we definitely made gameplay tuning changes based on all the great feedback from players.

Q: Do you guys need a hug?
A: We’re OK, but…yes, hugs. And cookies.

Thanks, Frisky.

The Tecmo prices seem pretty good even without PS+.  Would be great if they drop some more, but I'm not counting on it.  I kind of doubt we'll see better deals on this stuff closer to the holidays.  I can't remember the Atelier games ever going for less than $20 on any of their sales.

anyone compared the ps4 and ps3 version of Child of Eden? I dont really intend to pick it up since its not cross buy for some stupid reason but it keeps dropping. If it hits 75% off or more maybe i'll snag one version. Just wondering if the PS4 version looks way better or if they're pretty similar. Id rather do PS3 just for the hard drive space
I completely forgot this was on sale a couple weeks back for the Vita, had it on my cart and everything :wall:

Pocket God vs Desert Ashes, that just launched a few weeks ago is on sale for 80% off at $1.  I grabbed Desert Ashes Episode 2 at the same time.   I'm typically against price whining... but wow, that kind of price volatility is what helped drive me away from iOS gaming.  I guess I'll plan my purchases a little more carefully.

That said, fans of Advance Wars should seriously look at Pocket God vs Desert Ashes for $1 and definitely grab Desert Ashes and the Episode 2 expansion as they are free.

...

Not sure if old ... but the Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky SC (SC being the second game in the trilogy that just launched 10/29)... it's showing in the sale but no price change yet.

Interesting. I never got into the Pocket God iOS games but if you say this one is more like Advance Wars, I may need to take a look.

Me neither, it's the "Desert Ashes" component that is more like classic Advance Wars. The iOS game was Mecho Wars which is also available as a PSP Mini and playable on Vita.

It's not on sale, as it has been there since it launched.
Ah, too bad.

Thanks, Frisky.

They have gone as low as $16 but Ayesha was just released in January this year and I believe this is the first time it's gone on sale. Same with Ar nosurge.

Thinking about DOA5LR for $20. I wish the costume prices weren't so outrageous.
If you haven't played DoA5 Ultimate, I think $20 is a fair price.

I have switched over to Sony since the stupid xbone launch policies.   In my two years, Sony has had some great sales but it seems that DLC is never on sale

Is this standard for Sony or have I been missing the deals--

Sony doesn't control sale prices for other publishers. Neither does MS. The basic strategy is they put the main game on sale hoping you'll buy the dlc... so DLC rarely goes on sale. it does usually though... just need to keep your eyes open and be willing to have patience.

Breakfuss and whoever else is in this Driveclub you're welcome for the trophy for getting the club to level 10.
If I join now do I get it? I've been pretty much ignoring the club component of DC.

Interesting. I never got into the Pocket God iOS games but if you say this one is more like Advance Wars, I may need to take a look.
It's a Pocket Gods skin of a Advance Wars like game.

I have a feeling it did terribly at launch and they're just trying to recoup some losses. But yeah, it does sting if you bought it at launch.

You should since it's just "Be a member of a Club that is Club Level 10 or above." I just joined Breakfuss's (whose CAG name I cannot remember) because it was the only one on my friends list that just let you join without an invitation.

I hate these KOEI sales.  All these games that I really, really want to buy but know I'll likely never get around to playing because they're so complex or weird but are too expensive to just buy on a lark.

At the same time I feel compelled to buy Atelier Ayesha and Ar nosurge Plus since those kind of things only go on sale once or twice and don't even always repeat during their sales (like the Arland trilogy of Vita Atelier games aren't on sale).

I just saw that Axiom Verge is 30% off on Steam so hopefully that means that the PSN sale is coming soon.  Bit weird that he would do a sale on Steam first though.

What is more likely to go on sale are the ultimate edition bundles which have the base game and all the DLC, which is why if a game has a lot of DLC I am interested in playing I will hold off purchasing it in the hopes that there will either be a physical GOTY edition on disc, or a UE digital bundle that goes on sale.

I don't think this is entirely true. I'm sure they don't have total control on pricing, but there is definitely some amount of coordination and encouragement (or incentives to the publishers) that both Sony and Microsoft are handling behind the scenes. The various themed sales are a good example of this.

I do wish they would have more DLC sales, but there's probably a bunch of data to back up the fact that they don't need to put DLC on sale as much or can much just as much money or more by not putting it on sale.

To answer the original question from Ltrain8765, there are DLC sales but lately they seem to focus more on season passes. I "stocked up" on a bunch of season passes a few months ago when there was a big DLC sale for Mordor, FC4, etc.

Didn't do any research on Ar Nosurge Vita. Will I be able to enjoy it if I

(1) Haven't played any of the previous entries

(2) Like most JRPGs with a leveling/grinding system, and somewhat decent characters and/or story

I recall Atelier Ayesha still has the time limit, Shallie removes it but is not on Vita. So no go on that. Hated the time limit in Rorona and Totori so much that I gave up on the series and didn't even start Meruru.

Maybe it's because this is my first Fallout experience, but I'm about 3-4 hours in and am really enjoying it so far.
This is definitely the best Fallout of the modern generation. I would highly recommend checking out the other 2 at some point although they'd probably be better on a medium-powered computer than the last generation consoles.

Ar nosurge is the prequel to Ar tonelico so it should be a good jumping in point.

Presumably they're going to keep releasing Vita ports of the Atelier games.

Thanks, will probably grab Ar Nosurge then. Could never have enough RPGs on the Vita. Doesn't look like there will be PS+ discount though...

If you're considering the Atelier games, it's worth mentioning that most of them were added to PS Now in the latest update. So for the price of one game, you have a buffet of games you can stream from any PlayStation device (for a month).
