Hot damn for a half day at work leading into a long weekend. The wife still has a full day so I'll have all afternoon to binge-game. Anyone gonna be on? I could get into some Battlefront or Black Ops or Rocket League. 

 
Anyone have one of those Fire 7" tablets that are $50 right now?

Thoughts?  Opinions?  Haven't used it but still have things to say about it like you have used it (this one for Therm only)?

I might fall into that last group here, but I avoided buying one so far since I do not care for it being tied to the Amazon store. You apparently have to sideload the regular Google Play store on it if you want to use apps from there. I am not really sure in practice if that would matter much, but it was enough to make me decide to go with Samsung models instead.

All I can say about them are that I believe they will be 34.99 at best buy tomorrow, and I'm going to try to get a couple of them for xmas gifts.
 
On the one hand I'm home, and on the other the brakes and stuff on our car need a lot of work and we need two new tires and to try to get the tire place to fix the sensor they apparently broke when we got the other two tires. :(

They should fix it. Discount Tire broke one of the ones on mine and fixed it before they gave the car back to me.

No shit? Well fuck. Might really have to go that route then. I mainly want it to read all the digital comics I've bought over the last couple years.

Is that Talk to the Pig For All His Conversations Or Whatever trophy tricksy?  I see you got it after the last story one for episode 3.  I know people were worried you had to talk to him in old episodes to get it to unlock.

Some android apps (like the Kung Fury game), the first 3 episodes of some TV shows (Justified, party of five, astro boy, rescue me) and a few movies. I watched A Christmas Horror Story last night (pretty good Christmas, horror, anthology movie) and one of the trailers before it was for Odd Thomas (one of the free movies on the list) and it looked interesting. Pretty much the only other movie of note is Divergent.

I don't have that one but my mom has the older model and I did research on the HD version before going with the Nook instead. When I did all my research it was two years ago and even this Fire has been upgraded nicely. They used to not have the microSD slot or (IIRC) an IPS display. It's still not HD for the 7" model, but it's small enough that should be okay. It also only has a single wifi antenna compared to the HD model which has two, so it won't do quite as well with connection stuff.

The inability to get around the Amazon OS wrapper was one of the reasons I avoided the Fire before. It looks like that has been fixed. Read here for details about how to root the Fire.

If it were me I'd do some more reading around before buying it, but my main objections to earlier models (lack of microSD, stuck in the Amazon OS) have both been resolved. At $50 it looks like a pretty good deal.

Yes but not that bad, kind of a slight spoiler for part of the episode so use that to determine if you want to read this.

When you get to Soren's house and find the plan that he uses to try and teach the Endermen, you have to collect 6 clay blocks. Get all 5 of the ones in the house without EVER going through the door. Then talk to Reuben over and over. You will get the same little scene a bunch of times but keep going and eventually he will tell you a joke. Trophy will pop then.

I try to set my team up every week, but jumping on people due to injuries is just more work than I care to put in. It would make me have to actually pay attention to the NFL on Sundays. Screw that.

ETA: Is Deadpool improved at all on the PS4?

Odd Thomas was okay. Not great, but watchable. I liked the ending and it made me want to read the books. Plus the girlfriend was pretty hot.

Yeah. Okay at best. It messed up enough that watching the Civil War trailer really highlights the problems they're bringing into that storyline as well. The individual movies work well for the most part but they're doing a poor job of linking them all together from a characterization and narration standpoint. Stark, Banner, and Romanov were all handled poorly in Avengers 2 with regards to their earlier characterization and even to some extent within the movie itself.

I didn't play it last gen, so I don't really have a frame of reference. I'm getting a lot of stuttering, but looking online everybody else says the gameplay is silky smooth. Tried rebuilding my database and it didn't help. I'm going to reinstall the game now. Hopefully my PS4 isn't shitting the bed.

 
I really love playing Dragon's Crown. The devs put in so much love ever after release with infinite dungeon and ultimate (no level cap) modes.

I appreciate any time you guys let me co op it with ya. I always want to go back and even level up the other characters cuz the gameplay is so different, but i just end up playing my wizard

im home with all 9 kids today, i forgot it was a no school day. im supposed to work later, but monday worked great so i might just call in sick again, haha. the chic kept yelling at me and knew i wasn't really that sick so it was kinda funny. I really wanna win this blops 3 zombie challenge for a $10 psn giftcard my clan has going on but none of my partners are on yet. le sigh

Mine does too, so many that I keep having to burn days to stay under the cap. However, I assume we will get told to go home in a couple hours. Definitely not going to waste a day for what will likely be a free half day anyway.
