Shit month for me since I bought both PS3 games ages ago and barely played either.  Ditto on Freedom Wars.

But yay Rocketbirds?

And playing Kings Quest in two years?

Thats a nice month, even if I already played what will probably be the best of the bunch.  Blood Dragon was awesome.

Gauntlet and Kings Quest will definitely be played. At least none of the games are real stinkers either I dont think.  They should all be nice and playable.

Own Blood Dragon Slap. Freedom Wars sucks but only had a physical copy that I traded in (half slap). Wanted to check out King's Quest so cool. The others seem ok, no slaps there.

Wow, a month where I don't own any of the games? At least now I don't have to buy Freedom Wars from Gamestop for $5.

I've wanted to replay Blood Dragon on PS3 after finishing it on 360, King's Quest looks awesome, and I guess I can put a little more time into SSX.

I'm good with everything else. I already have Blood Dragon on PC but would rather do it on PS3 anyway. Don't own anything else. Was going to pick up Freedom Wars for $5 like Vig, so that alone justifies this month.

I might have to give FC3 Blood Dragon a second chance. Bought for cheap on my 360. Played maybe 30 mins stopped and never went back to it.

Might also try Gauntlet but have a feeling that is something that while great in the arcade many years ago is blah now.

I don't think the second chapter is even out yet.
It's not, nor has the second chapter's release date been announced even though ch1 came out months ago. The first had tons of launch issues to the point where most people couldn't even get it to run.

My issue is that it specifically says "Chapter 1" in the lineup. That implies we're not getting the season pass.

I'd actually considered grabbing SSX a few times before but never did so. Glad I held off. It looks fun.

I guess Rocketbirds has a 3/10 difficulty plat, so there's that, which is good I guess.
I liked it on PS3 but never went for the plat. I remember something about it being somewhat aggravating enough that I didnt want to bother. I think it has a "hard" difficulty you have to beat or something. Unless there is an exploit I missed I didnt think it was that easy.

If you ever played the previous SSX games on PS2 (specifically, Tricky and SSX3), then this one looks soulless by comparison. I'll still give it another shot.

Please stop with the PS4 adventure games. Broken Age, Walking Dead, and now King’s Quest back to back months. That is more than enough for a while, thanks.

SSX was the first PS2 game I played.  Was in college at the time and got it the day it came out.  Everyone in the frat was talking about PS2 being sold out everywhere and I was like "I got one".  We played the shit out of SSX for days.  It was so much more colorful and fast paced than anything on PS1 (duh).

I've haven't.

To tyler's complaint...in a few more months of this we'll have every PS4 adventure game. I wouldn't object to that too much, tbh, though I get complaining about a relatively niche genre being represented as 1/2 PS4 slots month after month.

Freedom Wars may be good at some point but it's just SO fuck ING slow to start it very quickly wore on me. I didn't think the combat was all that fun which again may be better after getting upgrades or what not. Felt like I should have liked it more but it never connected with me. I haven't put many games down after starting them in the past 5 years and that was one of them.

And I know you guys have been getting a lot of negative feedback about small indie games, but I much prefer them over ancient retail titles. Games like SSX have been so cheap over the last few years, I don’t know how anybody who would have the least bit of interest in the game wouldn’t own it already. I’d much prefer a newer and smaller indie game over the really old titles like Mass Effect 2 last month and SSX this month. Maybe I’m in the minority, I don’t know. Thanks.

Decent month, slapped on Blood Dragon and had almost pulled the trigger on Freedom Wars a few times. There goes the only decent vita deal at gamestop BF. Really, they couldn't give us both versions of Rocketbirds?

Man I remember getting SSX for $5 from the @Gamer magazine coupon. Feels like half a decade ago...

Man I missed 401k talk!

Im only doing company max match which is 5% and they match .80 cents for every dollar. Wife does I think 8% right now and they match 3% so we are somewhere around 19ish percent cause of my weird match.

She is on the annual increase which is how you get up to higher percents. If you let it auto increase 1 percent each year you wont really notice much difference in take home pay, especially if you are getting any raises. Wanna get to 25% combined eventually.

Im also off today, same as I was last two days, off until Wed of next week.

Yeah, but you also live in Kentucky. Or are you the one that moved to Ohio (also terrible I might add) or something? I cant keep you crazy KY people straight.

Chapter 2 is due out before the end of the year, as far as the last announcement I can find states. Here's the trailer:

Yup I provide my feedback there too because just talking about it here is pretty worthless (I'm sure it's pretty worthless posting over there too, but whatever.)

SSX (cuz of age) and King's Quest (cuz of genre) are the two games that irk me. Rocketbirds and Blood Dragon do nothing for me because I own them, but that's my fault. They're decent additions tot he Plus lineup. Freedom Wars is a good Plus game (I own it too, bought it on sale for $5 digital). And Gauntlet is a good Plus game too, and the only game I don't have this month.

Also chapter 1 is 4 hours long. If they're all that length I can understand being slower to release than Telltale's especially considering the launch issues. Still not happy about only getting chapter 1, though. Hopefully they'll clarify to indicate we're getting all of it just that chapter 1 is the only one currently available.

If I can find 1-2 games in the month that I want, and don't already own, I consider it a good month. I'll take just one if it's a new release(dragon fin, even though it's broken atm). Gauntlet is my top of this month. Fw has me a little pumped too, since more people may be playing it now.

Do Indies even come out for PS3 anymore?
I didn't think so, but yea, more than you'd think. Just browsing through the recently released PS3 games list there's Marvel Puzzle Quest, Goosebumps, Jackbox Party Pack, Extreme Exorcism, Pumped BMX, Book of Unwritten Tales, Nova 111, Space Hulk, Back to Bed, Helldivers, The Bridge, Goat Simulator, The Swindle, QUBE, Monster Jam Battleground, Quiplash, Syberia, Sparkle Unleashed, Badland, Ultratron, Cosmophony, and Risk since May.

Not saying those games are great or even likely to appear on Plus, but I'd prefer one of those over 4 year old retail titles. But like I said, that's just me. After a game gets 3 years old, it starts showing up for $5 or less on PSN and used game stores. Pretty sure SSX has been as low as $3 before, so for someone like me with a ride range of tastes and paying attention to weekly deals, ancient retail games are actually a lot less valuable than mid-tier but newer indies.

Saw this in the deals thread. I guess people say it's legit but as always, look into it. You can get 30% off anything on the site so ZIMM a Vader PS4 would be 220.50.

Same price for an Xbone Lego bundle but who wants one of those.
I keep staring at it in my cart at $220. It's taking all the restraint I have to not checkout. But medical bills and bill bills and divorce bills and fuck.

I don't think it really gets much better, it just gets way harder. The dialogue scenes do become less prevalent as the story progresses though. It is one of those games though that becomes more enjoyable the better you get at it - once you can sling yourself around like spiderman and figure out when to try to slice off limbs and when to switch to ranged it's more fun. But the actual gameplay changes very little with minimal variety throughout the campaign.

The last boss is a hot fury inducing bitch solo. Bring friends.

I remember getting it free in some foreign Xbox region years ago...and never played it. And then it became a GWG last December. So we're getting the 360's sloppy seconds.

Not really, Gauntlet alone is worth the $2.50 I paid for this month of Plus. But it's certainly one of the more disappointing months for me of recent, worse than August even.

I always like when Day 1 games are offered, because for sure I don't own them and I like (almost) every genre. So when there aren't any Day 1 games it usually ends up being a disappointing month for me personally.
