Looks like I'll grab it too. I have it physical still sealed but I can trade it in at GS for $16 with division coupon. That's the type of game I want digital plus get $5.96 for doing that.
Bastards dropped the Shovel Knight TIV a $1 :nottalking: Still upgraded to digital tho

That's a terrible comparison. You consume seltzer water until you run out and need more. You buy a game once. Keeping such a product on sale constantly implies that demand is low, and consistently putting it on sale implies that demand is consistently low. So either that's right or these guys don't understand supply/demand principles.
Most people do not check the store every week, and likely not even every month. You're confusing your own behavior with mass behavior.

The analogy has nothing to do with whether the product is used or consumed. It's as simple as whether people want it or not. If nobody wants a product, it wouldn't sell at all. But the seltzer water, and games that go on sale, do.

I don't get why you're stuck on that logic. Everyone who's weighed in on the subject disagrees with you.

Pulled the trigger on lego marvel game. I was hoping for a flash sale so thats why I waited. I also tried out Doom and thought it was meh. Battleborn was surprisingly fun.

Still got too much of a back log that is not disappearing. Have not touched Witcher 3 in months and then I started playing MGSV again. I want to get Dark Souls 3, but still have to play the first two.

You're not a true CAG if you back-log doesn't grow larger every year O:) . Like you, I have but haven't played Demon Souls and Dark Souls. The last Metal Gear I played was the first one on PS and I have all of them.

I'm loving Uncharted 3. It's pretty crazy that I've beaten UC1 and UC2 both 4 times each (3 on :ps3: and 1 on :ps4:) and this is my first time playing UC3. Better late than never and right in time for UC4 which is a day one  .

I bet a lot of people have never played Dead Souls

Bought Shovel Knight although I already had it on Xbox One and Wii U. I want Streets of Rage and Super Hang-on for PS3 although $4 each is still pretty steep since it's only $1 off of each game, so I'm debating those. Sega must be in dire financial straits.
A few years ago, Sega was putting classics on sale for $1 each every week or two. Those were the days...

Super Hang-On was never one of them, but I remember picking up Revenge of Shinobi, Alex Kidd, and some others back then.

Ah good old Dead Souls...pretty much killed off Yakuza localizations in America, though it was stupid for Sega to put the future on a side title, though honestly the games didn't sell amazingly well at the time either....I hope Yakuza 5 and future releases sell well...I will buy all on release from now on and still regret not getting Yakuza 2 before it ballooned in price, though I didn't have a job or anything at the time so it was harder to make purchases.

http://www.housemarque.com/veteran-finnish-game-developer-has-passed-away/

The Art Lead for Alienation passed away about two months as Housemarque was finishing up the last bit of the game. He started his career at Terramarque in 1994, who would later merge with Bloodhouse to form Housemarque, and recently reunited with them back in 2012 to start work on Alienation.
Ugh. That sucks. I love Housemarque. What a damn shame.

that's not necessarily how that works. whether you put something on sale or on "sale" or not doesn't mean people will buy it. People are more willing to buy something that is but that doesn't mean they would.

Only one more week of franchise sales!

I have about 100 too, I doubt I'll buy anything this week unless the trilogy has a good price I would snag that

Hopefully friday has a good flash sale so I can use it

You missed my point. I wasn't saying that people will definitely buy something if it's on sale. Someone said that frequent sales means nobody wants the product, and I was disputing that.

No flash sales coming?
I at least hope next week's deals are better.
I doubt we'll get a flash sale any time soon. Maybe one during the summer. Flash sales tend to be rare anymore. As for good deals yeah I hear ya. They've been pretty flat lately. I think the last game I bought was when they had children of earth on sale and that one gem game on the vita.

prolly will be one on friday

what you talkin' bout willis?

I'm guessing the Arcade Game Series is Namco trying to do the Arcade Archives stuff?
I remember reading somewhere that Namco was re-releasing those games but that they're not part of the Arcade Archives series. I think the Namco games are supposed to be $4.99 each which is better than the $7.99 each that the AA releases go for. Maybe I read it on Destructoid?

So pretty much the concensus that LEGO Marvel Superheroes is definatly worth the 5 dollar purchase, are any the others worth the price tag or should i wait longer on some of them?

If it's something like that, it's cool, though that early list does take away the charm of AA's stuff in that AA sometimes has a few games that have not seen a US release in ages, if at all (Salamander/Life Force, City Connection, Twinbee, that weird mahjong game they put out), but hey, maybe Namco has a few left field picks and, hell, if I'm wasted enough, $5 Galaga might not sound bad.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/04/18/guile-joins-street-fighter-v-roster-this-month-april-update-details/

Guile is being released for SFV this month along with his Air Force Base stage. There will also be an update to add a ragequit penalty system and some matchmaking tweaks.

So am I allowed to be upset that less than a year after buying a 3 year old console Sony has decided to release  new one with better specs? I feel like it is ok to be a little miffed about this.

Geared towards 4k so unless you have a 4k tv, then maybe you don't need to be upset. But Sony has done this every generation. This just happens to be the first time it'll offer better graphics. I'm not upset since I knew there'd be a second iteration sometime, but I wanted my console day one

You will be lucky to see 44.99 or 39.99 with a shark card. If GTA5 goes lower then that I would be in utter shock.
It was less than this last black Friday, and even less than that with GCU... Thinking it was $25 or $27. I snapped it up knowing it never goes on sale.

I should have bought 1 million copies and resold them for $10 million in profit! Or, you can do that yourself by becoming a game retailer.

This has happened with every console for ages now. Every time slim or whatever they call it iteration is a more powerful version relative to its previous dieset that the manufacturer has used to pass the savings on to themselves. Considering it's very unlikely that games will become segregated even if the next PS4 supports 4K video at least Sony's making the console better and not just more profitable for them to make.

The games won't be segregated but the report is that games going forward will have two "versions". The new system will be able to play those games at higher framerates and more stability. I understand tech is moving fast but I am just not ready to accept that I need a new console every 3 years. I might as well just get a PC then.

The publication reports that from October, games released for the PlayStation 4 must ship with a 'Base Mode' for the current model and a 'NEO Mode' for the upgraded model, while games released previous to October can opt to take advantage of the new hardware with a patch. In a nutshell, games running in NEO mode will offer higher visual fidelity and a more stable frame rate - the exact specs provided to GiantBomb are below:

Original PS4 CPU - 8 Jaguar Cores at 1.6 GHz

NEO CPU - 8 Jaguar Cores at 2.1 GHz

Original PS4 GPU - AMD GCN, 18 CUs at 800 MHz

NEO GPU - Improved AMD GCN, 36 CUs at 911 MHz

Original PS4 Memory - 8 GB GDDR5, 176 GB/s

NEO Memory - 8 GB GDDR5, 218 GB/s

I think an upgraded PS4 is a great idea. Normally we have to wait a long time for the next generation of consoles for any improvements to the internal specs, but with this planned upgrade, we'll get a better CPU, GPU, and faster RAM, I won't rush to buy a new model, but when I do, I'll probably just keep my original anyway (unless the trade-in deals are really good).

Well, the hardware limitations do push developers further, things that are done in late cycle are simply amazing compared to what is thought possible early generation. I'd hate to see this become the norm for a console generation, because you know eventually they would allow segregation. The problem is they can say games cannot be "NEO exclusive", but then you end up with developers that might skip optimization steps and just make the game functional on the vanilla.

Take, for example, Hyrule Warriors Legends on the 3DS. It is really great if you have a New 3DS - the framerate is even more stable than the WiiU (of course the fidelity has taken a downgrade from the WiiU). But, it is also "playable" on a regular 3DS. That is in quotes because it struggles to maintain 20 fps most of the time. So technically it is playable on a base system, but I cannot imagine why you would bother.
