WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Went right over his head as he kept mentioning random characters not in FFVIII. It's probably best these trade promotions are fairly short lived because I'd brain one of them before long.

Any prebuilt PC from GS is probably a year out of date even if it has the latest GFX card.

For instance the Alienware Alpha they sell are the non Windows versions (steam big picture mode is free so might as well get Windows version and superior Xbox 360 controller for the same price) without the Graphics Acceleration Port (that Alien/Dell laptop port for external high end graphics cards).

Just looked, you're right. Everything is Skylake or the always-outdated AMD junk. $2,000 for a PC with a year-old processor? Get bent, man.

These were all duplicates that I "upgraded" when I found them in better condition at other gamestops many years ago. I kept all of the Mario ones as well even though they are extra copies.

Yeah, those were the days...I paid like $85 for about 65 Gamecube games during that liquidation. I have 36 of the games left...but the ones I traded in so far netted me over $200.

 
Lol i had an extra bravely default 3ds game in my pocket from last night that i forgot to trade in. I there any trade in promo at all that i can use in addition to the $5 trade code?

I also still need to trade in my ps3 160gb that only finished reformatting the hd this morning lol. Open to suggestions here as well.

Does trading in a 2ds need the charger with it for full value? I ordered one of the new 3ds systems but they don't come with a charger. Wanted to keep the charger and was wondering if they think a charger is supposed to come with it.
 
How did I get 6500 point only. I bought 6 $40 trade in game and trade them back. I trade in 3 xb1 controller and 3 xb1 communicator

Don't know but I'll be attempting it when stores open on the West Coast. If no one confirms before then, I will. I'm also gonna try to stack the B2G1 with the Kinect and two more games in the $20 price range as well ($ Off coupons stack with B2G1 so I'm curious if this coupon will as well). I don't particularly want a Kinect but for $20 (or $13 after B2G1) I'll try it out.

 
Damn...planning on trading my PS4 for a pro and 50% would have been niiiice. Guess I will try tomorrow with the 20%.

Whats the chances that the TIV value will change tomorrow? Any chance of a last minute PUR deal being added?

You should of did it Tuesday or Wednesday they tanked the base values but the 50% extra and boomerangs made it worthwhile for most people to upgrade for little or no out of pocket money. Now you are stuck with a shit base value and a possible 20% more which would make it the same TIV as Monday.

EDIT: To answer your question, I really doubt you will see a TIV boost this weekend for consoles after they were giving out $185 to $225 for a PS4 the last couple days. I bet they are hoping to offset that this weekend with the lower TIV.

Yeah I know I should of did it on Monday. I didnt know the deal was going on or I would have. I was looking for a bit of hope to still get something good, you gave me the exact opposite. Well played.
 
Does anyone with technical knowledge of the website (mainly blackbeard) know how to manipulate a page to put in a hold request for an item that doesn't normally allow it? I tried going to a hold request page and changing the SKU for the item I want, but it just brings me to the page of the item

I know it can be done with pre-owned games, don't know about new stuff.

Well if you look at it from a greedy business standpoint it makes perfect sense. Do it to stock up quickly on easy flippable consoles for the holidays before BF and screw over the majority on the busy shopping weekend of the year.

Everyone already has twelve metric shit-tons of points from boomerangs the past couple days, go waste your time somewhere else

 
My store opened like 10 minutes early and I was first in line, so I got a black N3DS there. Raced over to the other store closest to me and snagged the last one there too  :D/

Also strangely saw a ton of people lined up to buy the PS4 Uncharted system bundle and NBA 2k17. Like... you're really gonna line up at 5am to get things that are basically guaranteed to not sell out? AND things that are cheaper at multiple other stores? Oh well. They're the ones who allow us to take advantage of all the good deals  O:)

Now pleeease let there be some good GS->BB movers this weekend  :pray:

 
Happy I was able to score one of the 3 our store got. Would have sucked getting up at 4am and waiting in the cold for just the enormous FNAF plush...

But gotta say that plush is cool!
