So looks like ekim has his insider to help him get BC updates. He's only a day ahead but if he's right we should get Shadows of the Damned and Rocket Knight today. Pretty excited to see Shadows of the Damned go BC. Hope it hits EA access down the road.

Anyone having trouble with Xbox.com? I can't seem to view the second page on "My Games" tab. Tried for both consoles and Windows 10, with Edge and Chrome, but it's still the same thing.

Have you already found you enjoy the base game? Just curious before you spend any money, I gave it an honest chance and the werewolf levels ruined it for me, I hate that game.

It's nice that Access has EA prioritizing BC, the two programs compliment each other nicely. It's also bittersweet because games like SotD and Dead Space remind me of when EA was taking chances on new IPs and publishing lots of cult classics and sleeper hits alongside their big, predictable franchises.

 
Just a reminder that 7 years ago today - January 26th, 2010 - one of the greatest video games of all time was released. That game was MASS EFFECT 2.

There are other achievements that are affected as well, mostly app achievements but yeah. Sucks that developers made achievements taking advantage of a feature that is being phased out.

I am slightly worried as Crystal Dynamics is working on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Eidos-Montreal is rumored to be working on the "second half" of Mankind Divided, along with helping on Tomb Raider.

So we went from having 3+ games every Tuesday and Thursday to days being missed (after the holidays) and now we get just 3 titles in a week. I told you all the program was slowing down. It is dying. A couple weeks will have more than 3 but it looks like we will average 3 a week until the end of the year and the program will have about 500 titles and that will be it. Once Scorpio is out, this will quietly get swept under the rug shortly after in 2018. An occasional title might come here to give as a GWG or bonus and there, but the priority will be gone.

 
If you're serious I think you're crazy, and if you're keeping the joke rolling, it's gotten old. They've been hitting lots of well-received sleeper hits lately and it's only January. Catherine, Ghostbusters, SotD...

I'm pretty sure there were close to 20 titles made BC this month, and you're making predictions for 2018 lol.

Talk about moving the goal posts every week. It went from "is dead" to "it is slowly dying" to "it'll be swept under the rug by 2018". I don't think he's serious and does it for shits and giggles. Who knows, who cares?

While we're on the BC subject, it seems ekim's source was right on the money. Hopefully this time his source will last longer than last time with the "sales".

Did you guys know that if you have gold on 360 and you choose "Get for Xbox One" on an X1 game that's on GWG you can continue playing it on your X1 even after your gold expires?

Are you still gaming on an SDTV? If not, games that you stopped playing for that reason might be worth revisiting.
 
One thing to consider is that some games may take longer to convert for BC than others. I'm sure games with a big online component, like the Battlefield games, take longer to test, etc.

And publishers agreeing to let MS do it also is a factor. So there could be many reasons for lower numbers and not just MS "winding down" the program. Especially to make that conclusion less than a month into the new year.

Are we going to have the BC is dead/no its not discussion every Tues and thurs? It's obviously not dead and has gotten an overwhelmingly positive response. Microsoft needs to continue to provide services to gain back it's fan base. I am more concerned with quality over quantity and this was a damn good week.

MS should employ humans with no regular life for the BC conversion. Then those individuals can work 24hrs a day - with IV fluids keeping them going - and churn as many BC titles as Mr. Trench likes. That is the purpose of those life forms, to satisfy Mr. Trench.

Now the ball is in MS' court - to find the said humans and put them to work. fucking M$!!!

 
Or be like me, and ignore BC games altogether.  Leave the past in the past.  Look towards the future.

I understand some of those games were great for their time, and that some people may want to revisit them out of nostalgia, but I personally did not spend $300 on a "next gen" console to play 7 year old games.
