This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

I thought about buying the bundles they had listed but that would've created too many dupes. Instead I opted to add all the games I didn't have individually. Turns out 50 items is the max for their cart.

I did notice their bundles do change a bit. I checked this morning and they added 10 or so new games to their big list and removed some as well.

Yeah, I missed some games too. And yes buying individually is better.

(And I will be doing that from now on, since I have way to buy now :p)

It seems like a great way to cherry pick from previous Cubic bundles, IG, and non-bundled cheap stuff. I used Bitcoin since they don't accept PayPal, and using a CC was out of the question (for obvious RU reasons).

Just an FYI. They sure took their sweet time verifying payment. So if anyone else buys stuff from them don't expect keys immediately. All keys worked though.

At least BethSoft's giving this away instead of charging for this as some kind of Fallout 4: Special Edition re-release later.

No. It's best to think of Steamground as a reservoir of +1s and bundle junk. As a side benefit I'd say roughly 90% of the cheap wholesale region free games offer idling potential for Steam cards. So that's good, I guess.

Of all the games I did pickup, Dungetris ($0.07) is a Very Positive reviewed Rogue-Like. That might be the only game with playable potential.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm already using that though. Even using that, it's a pain in the ass. But I think I'd probably go insane if I were listing all these cards without a helper like that one.

I've run into a bit of a wall though. I can't check any steam market pages now. Whenever I try, I get hit with the following message:

"Sorry!
An error was encountered while processing your request:

You've made too many requests recently. Please wait and try your request again later."

So, I guess this is because the steam inventory helper checks the market pages to get the most recent price. Obviously, with the number of cards that I've been listing, it has checked a good many steam market pages. Apparently there is a limit to how many you can check within a certain amount of time, and I've hit that limit. Anybody know how long I need to wait until I'm able to check the steam market again?

I stopped buying bundle trash 2 months ago. Yes, this means skipping all IG bundles and most BundleStars. I've been sticking to Humble for the most part. Finally out of the +1 game

Though I did buy the Groupees Jast VN bundle with coins

I don't know about them being worth buying, but I could find 65 games in that cesspool that I don't already own. I am only saved from debasing my steam account with that trash by the fact that they don't accept any payment method that I'd be willing to use.

Edit: Oh and thanks to Motiv for the compare2steam thingy. First I'm learning of this tool, but it came in very handy in this case.

In most case I get an IG when I see one game I think I would actually play. With the happy hour ~$1/game isn't too bad.

Wow, missing 49 games from that Russian key site. It really does take forever to buy using Bitcoins. Is it a marketing thing that only allows us to use Paypal when buying bundles and not specific games?

Tried using my entropay card to top up a yandex account and pay that way, no go.

Just a guess on my part, but it might be them looking to avoid payment fees from paypal on small orders. I see games as low as 4 cents on that site.

Honestly ever since they started making you confirm each card you list on the market through the app, "+1 for cards" was no longer worth the effort. 

Well, unless you're one of those freaks who likes seeing a bigger number on their profile page. Then you're in heaven, since Steam dribbles out more and more poop out of the anus it calls "Greenlight" every single day, so there's never a shortage on ways to throw away your money.

Okay, so I bought and started playing Doom. Only got through first level but yes, there are some moments. My favorite was in the first few minutes the guy says "we did it for the benefit of mankind" and the character looks at the mutilated corpse. Classic.

Can't remember the last time i bought an IG bundle. I don't think I've bought one even within the past year.

Man, it's a tough game to get out of, but as long as my Steam store purchases are covered by selling Steam cards, I'll keep buying some bundle trash. That is as long as the effort doesn't take too much time. I don't have any alt-accounts so that seems to keep things simple too.

Wait, does BundleStars even do game bundles anymore? Their last "Killer" bundle was in August I believe. They seem to be spacing bundles out a lot more over the past year. Feels like they're mainly focused on pushing out these Star Deals as of late. None of them have caught my eye.

Speaking of Groupees, I need to use my last remaining coin and cleanse my hands with them. If I'm going to blind pre-order something my money is better spent towards a Humble Monthly. Or what they hand me at a fast food restaurant in a paper bag.

Yeah, me too...something about hitting 5000 made me not want to fund Yanni Crappuccino's "Teabagging Motoki in my basement dungeon" charity any further and other dumpster fire +1 collections....of course I'll probably buy something tomorrow from Yanni.....DON'T JUDGE ME!!!!!

It's more about not having to waste my mental energy on having to check, buy, and activate every shitty game just to +1 than the cost of it all to me. I gain some peace not having to think about that shit anymore. It's easier to stick to buying good games that get bundled rather than the thousands of shovelware that make it to steam and 90% of those (the good games) are bundled by Humble these days. I haven't even been selling/idling cards lately, just too lazy to do it.

Yeah, I don't know if BundleStars has been pumping out bundles, I stopped checking. I mostly meant that I'll only buy Killer bundles from them.

Yeah, I hear you. I have no dispute with that line of thinking at all. Once I hit 5k my motivation (pun intended?) stalled out completely. I've actually played more games since then, go figure. I tend to just stick with IG and Humble stuff now and add games when I have time.

To each their own and I'm all for people doing whatever makes them happiest. Being a gamer or hobbyist is supposed to be fun entertainment. If it ever becomes a chore then hopefully someone will remind me (or kick my ass) and tell me I'm doing it [customspoiler=wrong.]

Deus Ex franchise is rumored to be going on "hiatus", due to sales not being what they (Square) were expecting (i.e. they weren't high enough, to suit them):

Just got my GamePump refund. Can't decide if I should put the $20 towards a steam pump, a power pump, an air pump, some Reebok pumps, or a penis pump.

Wonder if it's was pushed out because they knew FF XV was going to need more time, so they needed sales somewhere. But FF XV was really in development for like 4 years(almost everything from the previous 6 years was thrown out in 2012 according to some interviews), so maybe that's what SE does now.
 
I was broken of the +1 back during Gleam & Tremor.  Was too much work for shitty games and, since I was passing up on those, there wasn't much sense on +1'ing off Groupees bundles or other junk.

Anyway, Spoder only plays Dead by Daylight now so he doesn't need any other games.

None of the games themselves are ones I've been interested in, but the quality of the deals has been pretty good. Lowest price ever on icewind dale, and I think it was the lowest price ever on the ultimate or massive edition or whatever it was of the secret world. If they keep that up they might wind up being a place i buy from relatively often.

 
Incidentally, you know you're getting old when you log into CAG and you start seeing targeted ads for face wrinkle cream. Seriously, there's enough going on in the world as it is. The last thing I need right now is a cream facial.
