Thanks! I missed the winner in the stream, was looking through easy Vs. achievements for TA's Day 2, and got a few XBL messages in quick succession, one of them in Spanish ("you give me the code"). Wondered WTF. One said I was lucky, checked the stream chat and saw I had won. Cool.

Finally finished the requirements for the Flaming Torque Bow. God, I suck with the Torque Bow. Though I think that thing's as inconsistent as the Gnasher. I got killed by splash damage so much, yet I never seemed to kill others. Also had a number of flat out misses when the guy was standing still and I had him lined up.

 
FYI to anyone interested in Battle Chasers: Amazon has it currently for $22 and it keeps dropping every hour or so. At the rate it's going, it might be $15 or less by the end of the week.

Game is so damn good but man did they spike the difficulty with an update. I started back up last week and it seems way harder.

yeah the Gnasher is your bread and butter but it takes so much skill to work the angles and strafe competently just to get a kill with the Gnasher. Its not just point your shotgun at someone and they die, there's a lot more to it than most people think. Its much much MUCH harder to be even decent at Gears Of War than it is to be at any other shooter game. Call Of Duty, Destiny, Siege, Overwatch, etc none of them compare.

No it's not that difficult and trust me it is very fun. One of the few games that has kept my attention. It might just be that since I took a long break from it I just need to get re-acquainted. I also found new party member and have been trying to level him up so that might have also contributed to the difficulty spike. Please don't let my shitty gaming ability scare you away from a great game. The art design is ridiculous. I love it.

Not sure yet, it hasn't shown up. I missed what it was in the stream, though Kristaps said it was a Gears Supporter pack. I've seen them raffle off packs 1, 5 and 6 (Dallas) this weekend. There might've been others. There were 3 months of Game Pass as well on Friday, don't remember seeing them the past 2 days.

 
I am all that is man,I finally 1000gs sky force anniversary and got damn was I getting bored having to repeat stages over and over and over just to pop one cheevo.I had to collect 500k stars I wonder how much time it took me to 1000gs it the stats in game does not say nor does the progress bar in the achievement game hub section.

I'm going to have to decline on that to me it is very easy to kill people with it, it almost feels like it doesn't even require aim tbh, the gnashers cone input is very generous, way too generous for my taste. doesn't help that hitreg in this game is very spotty with its 30 tick rate servers and no game with a comp. mode should ever have that low tickrate.

Are you playing Social or Competitive? The skill gap between an Onyx player and a Gold one is pretty substantial. Diamond players are on an entirely different planet from the rest. I mean I've played many shooters in my life and none are harder to master and be good at than Gears. Any dick head can play a game like Destiny and Overwatch and get a bunch of kills just by derping around. There are no classes or specialists in Gears. Everything is dependent of the users skills. You can't press Y and throw out some bullshit ultra ability that wipes the map.

 
Did an online chat with MS support, they refunded both of my Marvel Heroes Omega purchases (from July and September) with no problem. Went back to my Paypal, but tempted to use that for Hand of Fate 2.

The difference between the ranks also has a lot to do with teammates as individual skill level. Given the issues with their ranking system, as well as matchmaking and netcode, it's a bit of a mess and can be very volatile. One weekend I played 2 Escalation matches for one of the events. I started at ~10% Onyx 1. First match, my team won, I finished in the top half of players. No change in rank. Second match, my team lost pretty badly after someone on my team left in the 2nd or 3rd round. When I signed on the next day, I was down to 66% Gold 3. There's something wrong with that.

Since people don't seem to lose their place if they don't play, there should probably be some rank attrition if you don't play. Maybe that's why I dropped so much after 1 loss (the system finally allowed people that had been playing a lot to leapfrog me) while I can't seem to move up after doing well.

Competitive since it uses different weapon tuning, idk why this studio even decided to tune weapons differently at all for different modes, just so weird to me I think im still in Onyx 1 or 2 and have played against all ranks since this system doesnt really find that many players to queue with. Idk I got into Gears only recently and got into the online portion of it with Gears 4 and to me seems very easy to play and control the weapons etc. Idk maybe because I am mostly do the majority of my gaming on the pc I caught onto this quick but the gnasher to me is way too easy to kill people with and can be easily. Doesn't help that that this games hitreg and hitboxes for it are super generous. I don't ever see Destiny as a comp game at all since their balancing between pvp and pve is atrocious. I just cant believe this game still runs 30 tick servers as a competitive mode, Siege,Overwatch is ages ahead on that. I like Gears Multiplayer it just surprises how it still plays like it did to older titles.

I do think you're right in a lot of ways, and I think the reason it's hard to master Gears is mainly the movement/cover system. Using your rolls/wall jumps/etc. correctly is a large part of your success it seems, and shotguns are difficult because if you're good, you're probably playing someone who knows how to move around well and is just as good at popping you in the face as you are at doing the same.

But yeah, Gears is tough because your skills from other shooters don't translate all that well. For better or worse, there's no other game that really feels like Gears, so you can't get the new Gears after playing a shit ton of some other shooter and just expect to have a short acclimation period. I am by no means any good, but I played a lot when it first came out and was happy to even be decent at a bronze or silver level, lol.

Gears is in a tough spot. I'm sure TC wants to change things up but the hardcore community would have a conniption if it strays too far from the current formula. But yeah like the guy above me said, there's really nothing like GOW out there in the PvP realm. There's not much you can change besides making the entry point easier for newcomers, but they tried that in GOW 3 with the Sawed Off and the Retro and every experienced player hated it. So I expect 5 to be more of same with slight gameplay changes and some more noob friendly weapons.

I just tried to do 3 $10 PSN cards. None available in a 250 mile radius for store pick up. I bought one a week or two ago and know the store near my house has a crap ton. I wonder if this is how they excluded or something? Annoying.

 
I remember playing gears 2 when it released and I enjoyed it. I was never good at it though and could never quite 2 piece the opponent which was melee then shoot.So I gave up but maybe I'll give gears 4 a go.

I redeemed the Games Pass 1-month code that came with the Seagate-branded hard drive. Decided to download and give Dark Void a whirl.

Good Lord what a digital piece of human feces. I had to literally force myself to finish chapter 1. Uninstalled that crap.

 
Gears multiplayer is great but no way am I getting into competitive competition in that though lol.

Played some competitive Rocket League last night, normally usually play casual, and had a lot of good games moving up to Gold D1. Haven't played in a while but kinda like Gears multiplayer, you don't forget it (when I jumped online for the 4X XP event a while ago I held my own, have played Gears since the very first one).

More Battlefront updates coming today. Most of it is just number tweaks on rewards, doesn't sound good enough to me, but we'll have to see what all the actual numbers are from the community as usual, all EA said was 3X the daily limit on Arcade, 3X crafting parts from daily boxes, and just general increases with no numbers for the rest. It seems like they're just going to keep marginally increasing stuff until they hit the point that people are complaining as loudly. This stuck out though.

Unless this ties directly into the events of Last Jedi, I don't really see why it had to be held back, and it's still actually coming out before the movie. Holding back Finn and Phasma for multiplayer I understand, it's something to build hype for right next to the movie, but crippling your story at launch is pretty stupid.

 
I Keep thinking about how much I want a Sleeping Dogs sequel, mostly because I still love how just randomly in the game there will be three or four thugs protecting a suit case out in the middle of a sidewalk or park. Sometimes the suit case will be open already, but they'll still be protecting it for really no reason. Regardless, here I come in a sports car to mow them all down and teach them they should've done this shit indoors. Yeah, I want a sequel with more of that...

Capcom has been trying to build hype for a Mega Man 30th Anniversary stream today, that starts at 11AM PST, and apparently has an hour long pre-show before it. They were sending out these boxes to a bunch of websites and Youtube channels, including the PlayStation Blog, and Nintendo tweeted about the stream too. The two main guesses are either Mega Man 11, or a Mega Man X Legacy Collection. Since everything in the box is themed toward the original character, I'm leaning towards something with him over the X series, but it could also be the announcement of a lot of stuff. Neither collection is on Switch, so I'd guess that's coming as part of this stream at least.

The story does seem like it's building to something interesting, and then it just slams the brakes on with no indication more is coming later. Kinda reminds me of the original Assassin's Creed that way. Super disappointing.

Didn't try a second of the multiplayer outside of the beta, but this one is definitely a rental. The single player campaign is easily done in a day or two, and this is coming from someone who hasn't beaten a game in a long freaking time. I'll grab it again from Redbox after the new movie.

I think the movie premieres on that date, though, so the internet will be filled with spoilers everywhere between the movie and the new game content. Best to just turn everything off and stay off the web if you're avoiding spoilers.
