This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

I see NewEgg has the 8gb RX 570 for $150 after $20 promo & $30 mail-in. How does that compare to the RX 580?
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2018-08-24-amd-radeon-rx-570-benchmarks-7001

That'll break it down for you.

570 is a great card too for 1080 gaming. On par with a 3GB 1060. I think the memory is clocked lower than the 580 which leads to the difference in performance. That's a great price considered you could only get 1050s or 560s for that price up until recently.

At this point, I don't really think you can go wrong with either card. People citing AMD driver issues from 2 decades ago are idiots.
It was very obviously a tongue-in-cheek comment. That's okay. You're easily the biggest bigot in here and you make moronic posts constantly. I can practically hear you eating sunflower seeds and chomping on chips every time you make a post.

I don't presume to know what's going on, but can we please just be civil and keep on point.

I only recently (since moving) discovered there's such a thing as red cream soda...not sure how I managed to live this long without it.

Yeah, I have better things to do than to read through old pages. Thought I was helping. Will keep my thoughts to myself from now on! ;)
The only thing that matters: is that we all keep this thread going.

Especially since we surely know that Steam Sales surely ain't keeping this thread going.

And I might have gotten angry a bit too quickly. I tend to do that sometimes. I have nothing against you, MysterD. In fact, I remember that you and a few others helped me to learn how to navigate the world of Steam sales when I first got my gaming PC. So thank you for that.

Looks like the thread has ended the night on a positive note after it was temporarily soiled by stank.

Also, how had you never heard of Big Red? (Not that surprised, Condor recently discovered it to)

Wonderful. On a different note, I keep seeing that Hollow Knight is on sale right now for $9.89 because of some free update that just came out. I've got $10 on my Steam account, but I haven't spent $9.89 on a game in months. Is this game worth all the hype it's getting? Is it low-end friendly? And is it one of those games that probably won't go any lower in price because of all the attention it's getting? I ask this because I could probably get 10 semi-decent games if I wait for the next Steam sale.

If you were a hot dog, would you eat yourself?
I don't really like hot dogs, so no.

I'd eat myself if I were a pizza though.

EDIT:

Real talk...

Who had a PowerVR card?

Who had the ultimate setup; A general 2D/3D card, a PowerVR card, and a Voodoo card?

What if hotdogs were a topping on pizza? Or a hotdog rolled up in a pizza?

Pizzadog?

Have you ever thought about dropping the Fox- prefix and just going with AssGamer?

I have no idea how low-end friendly it is, but as far as being worth the price, it absolutely is. If you already know you like that type of game and do not mind difficult games, at least. It is one of my favorite games ever. I did have one friend rage-quit it over difficulty though.

Anyone ever have ginger beer? Not ale, beer. It's not alcoholic, but it's 100x stronger ginger flavor than ginger ale.

Tastes like liquid ginger Altoids.
This is the stuff that I buy.

Bundaburg is by far the best ginger beer I have ever tasted. They sell it for $6.99 a 4-pack at Total Wine & More but I just noticed it being sold in 12-packs at Costco the other day as well (which has to be new; it's an import). It makes for a fantastic mixer with bourbon. Ginger beer is good for you too. It's a nice change of pace drink.

To my knowledge, no. Previously, living in Maryland, I don't recall Big Red nor Barq's Red Cream Soda, which was my first entry into this deliciousness since moving to Indiana.

And a question that is lesser on point, can anyone sell me on Monster Hunter? The last time I tried the franchise was on Vita and it just didn't click with me. I guess at the time I was expecting more of RPG experience akin to Bethesda titles which wrongly set my expectations?

My best description is it is akin to Dark Souls. Basically there's a base, you take a mission, you go out on mission (completing some submissions), then you go back to base. Every creature you're fighting has "tells". You make new armor to battle new creatures, to earn better armor,to face progressively more badass creatures. The fire-breathing T-Rex was probably one of the hardest hurdles for me in all the games.

Honestly, if you're on the fence, spend a couple of bucks and rent it on XBO or PS4 and see if you like it.

When I'm feeling wild and crazy I pick up some Crabbies. I prefer the orange enhanced version but the ginger only version is good as well.

Is Monster Hunter World as difficult as Dark Souls?
