Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

If you've gotten the 10% off your entire purchase coupon that expires 9-21-24, have you used it on a pre-order? I have 9600 points and my $5 monthly I can put towards the new Zelda to get that poster and the 10% on top of that. I was curious if the 10% off worked on a pre-order. I know I know, I should buy something more expensive with 10% off but I don't really need or want any other game than Zelda. I mean, Astrobot sure but I that that game will get discounted much quicker than Zelda and it has a good shot at being on PS Premium within a year or 2.

Pretty sure poster is for in store pickup only. Zelda comes out 9/26, your coupon expires 9/21.

Limit 1 fabric poster per purchase. Fabric poster will be provided upon paid balance and receipt of game. In-store pick-up only. While supplies last.

I see PS5 w/ disc launch edition TIV dropped after yesterday. Damn. Was thinking about trading it in towards the PS5 Pro after finishing Astro Bot.

I hope they have a good promo when they officially start pre-orders in October. A guaranteed $400 would be nice, if not $450.

I feel like price will be back to $385. I've seen this happen before. They got too many trade ins.

i don't know, i kinda thought this is the drop anticipating the extra 10% with pro week. I still don't think they are getting many ps5 consoles yet. while i was there trading in my series x, 2 people came in and traded in ps4s.

or wait until Next holiday for the Pro go on sale or have a bundle, like previous PS5 models.

I'd say it was astronomically better when the Slim spiderman bundles were available back in the spring. Now you gotta wait till black Friday for them.
It was but still kicking myself I didn't trade sooner. There will be another boost hopefully by end of this month or next I hope

My Gamestopfu is a little rusty, but as I recall it's pointless to use a monthly $5 coupon in a Buy x Get x deal, yeah?
You can use it on the most expensive item to bring its price down. But if that price goes any lower than that of the cheapest item then it's being partially wasted.

Example: trying to use a B2G1 on a $10, and $15, and $20 item, you can use a $10 certificate to drop the $20 item to $10, so the final price would be $25. But any certificate amount higher than that would make that item the cheapest and thus the free item.

If the three items are very close in price then there's pretty much no point.

Some TIVs appear to have gone up today—at a glance, I see $22 base for both GoW Ragnarok and Gran Turismo 7 on PS4 (they were sub-$20 base earlier this week) and $35 base for Star Wars Outlaws (was $30 base yesterday).

So someone posted the sales for next week and I keep seeing everyone saying pro week is next week. Where is anybody seeing that pro week is next week? According to CAG on X, pro week is the following week - starts the 22nd.

Yeah just skimming through the Most Wanted trades list, definitely some solid values like those you already mentioned. Some other good ones - Ghost of Tsushima DC PS4, FNAF Core Collection Switch, It Takes Two PS4 all up to 20 base; Bloodborne and Horizon Forbidden West Ps4 both at 14 base.

Even on the stickers shared on here it clearly said it starts 9/22 so I was confused as well...

Since PS5 controllers have officially artifically inflated in price does that mean GameStop will offer a higher trade-in value for them later, ya'll think?

Maybe $1-2.

On 7/17, non-white dualsense went from 44 to 38.50 for Pro trade credit value, then dipped to 23.10 on 9/10 when all console and controller values dipped, but then returned to 38.50 same day. White currently only gets 29.70. Spider-man dualsense gets 49.50 since they are selling those for $89.99.

If such is the case, then the base/slim PS5 TiV should be expected to fluctuate/tank all the way thru 11/7.

the new shiny colors are still $44 (cobalt blue, sterling silver, and volcanic red)

Damn. I may have to trade in my copy of Deadpool. Had no idea it was going for that much.
It’s kind of funny that both Deadpool and Godzilla are going for so much when they were both at can’t-give-‘em-away prices for a while there. I picked up Deadpool for the Xbox One for $11.99 from Best Buy, and I remember Godzilla being on clearance at Target for $6. I thought about grabbing Godzilla on a lark, despite the incredibly negative reviews, but never actually did. I’m regretting that now!

If yours is PS4 and you have the case, you're better off selling it online. It's come down a bit, but sales are still hovering around $100.

Speaking of Deadpool PS4, it got a small $5 price bump, Xbox One stayed the same since it's not selling out anymore (the secondary market is going for less for that one). Lots of other $5-$10 increases but I noticed Godzilla PS4 got a $20 jump to $100 which is still too low. I remember when I bought it in 2021 it was $70. Pretty crazy that only in the past month have they raised it from $70 to $80 and now this increase.

I'm seeing a lot of price changes today. A lot of retro console prices went up, like $90-100 for a Wii system now. Some 3DS systems are $280, ps3 and xbox 360 systems went up. Lots of retro game prices went up. Still some games a lot lower than market price, surprised they haven't got an increase yet.

Walmart 50$ new 3ds right? I already saw the writing for that one and got it before they'd jump in price.
Well I did buy 2DS and 3DS years ago when Target had them cheap. I have two New 3DS XLs in my personal collection, the black Pokémon one and a red one. Funny enough, I got the black one awhile back when GameStop was randomly listing them. I think it was $150 back then?

Super sad I sold the two Gameboy Micros I had in 2020…I won’t be parting with my 3DSs, even at $280 or whatever.

Crazy enough, I just recently got a New 3DS XL black CIB for $150 with some loose games. I was extremely hesitant to pick it up, but it was either that night or never. Really grateful we met up in an affluent shopping district with ambient lighting and people around, in case things went awry. The console is minty fresh, I'm totally against using it...for now, I'm hunting down screen guards, protective shells, and handheld grips; that Monster Hunter XX grip by Hori is so 🦆ing expensive and the Cyber Gear rubber coated grips are very htf...I miss my pearl blue GBASP.

It's funny that they raised the prices of the Wii. The trade-in value is still 1 cent. They must have a lot in inventory somewhere.

They still will give you a penny for that Wii trade in too. 😆

Was just thinking about the 2DS XL I got from Walmart super cheap.

Question about those, is it safe to keep sealed for years? Since it has internal battery? Don't want to take them out one day, or sell them, and the battery be completely dead.

I still have a Pikachu and Majora's Mask
3DS sealed. Don't worry me.

I wouldn't keep a 3ds sealed, those batteries are going to eventually welt. If you were looking to keep it as a collector I'd open it and pull the batteries from them. The good thing is amazon sells replacement batteries.

The issue is the battery bloating (check out the spicy pillow Reddit). I know people had issues with that happening to PSPs.

That's not the correct listing for it. You can't find it online but it' sin their system internally as "Wii System Original White" Sku 909090 and traded in for $27 last week. I've traded in ~12 in the last month. You just can't trade in the sensor bar and cables individually like you used to.

Count me in for that one. Have a white Assassin’s Creed PSP and a white Vita. Haven’t used in years, were put in storage in a room temperature environment. Checked on them about a year or two ago and the PSP had the back cover bulging off. The battery was bloated. Vita seemed fine.
