Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2024

Pikmin 1+2 from Target digital or physical? I like physical, but the extra gold coins from digital are always nice…

So Astro Bot is probably not going to be cheaper than $50?
(yeah I know about QVC but I have BB credit from an iPad trade in, Target Circle $ and a Gamestop GC that I got at 20% off so I’d rather buy at one of those places).

best bet is going to be a buy2 get 1 free used at gamestop, but then you have to buy 2 more games. sams club has it for $42.98, but i don't know if best buy or target price match them any more. target buy 2 get 1 free on new games should be coming up soon but good chance astrobot won't be included.

Sam’s is OOS for me so that’s a no go. I hate the roulette of case/no case from GameStop and my local ones don’t have it used - one actually cut back on video games and made single Pokemon card packs take as much space as possible in the store.

Guess I’ll get a new one at GameStop. My $5 is working for a double dip.

I’m really hoping for better sales on Stellar Blade and Rise of Ronin. I wish those games were multi platform.
I don't. Platform exclusives are the business models that help generate unique content. Manufacturers invest in creative to build up their platforms. It's always been this way and not just in videogames. Network tv, cable, streaming -- it's always about platform exclusives that push mediums to their best and push competition. The breaking down of platform exclusives means fewer AAA games that push the envelope, and frankly, give off the illusion of choice (e.g., Nintendo e-shop - just a.n uncurated morass of junk). No thanks.

Any chance some of these retailers will restock the sold out games on actual Black Friday? I was waiting to order a game because I was going to have it delivered as a gift to a relative's house, but they weren't home and I didn't want it sitting on their front step for 3 days. It has since sold out.

Is there a google spreadsheet of price comparisons anywhere this year? Curious if the Ps Store does actually have the best prices for a few games I'm interested in picking up.

I'm assuming Walmart will have limited stock in stores for these prices too? Is that starting today as well like can I go to a Walmart and buy SH2 for $30 if it's in stock?

Missed that Epic Mickey Rebrushed was $30 at Walmart (still in stock for Switch but gone for PS5 and Xbox). :(

GameFly is doing 10% off all its games and accessories with code BLKFR24

What is more interesting however is they’re giving away 3 free months right now if you subscribe to Gamefly for a year. This is better than the usual deal they run around Christmas and Fathers Day, which let you get one free month if you subscribe for 6 months.

A yearly subscription is the best deal anyway, and getting a quarter year on top of that for free makes it even better. With the classic 2-game plan it will come out to about $14.40 per month, which imo is the best deal in gaming. I’ve been a member for over a decade and the service is better than ever. You can even gamelock games these days, which works like pre-ordering, so you are able to play new releases right away. Although I believe this feature is locked until you become a member in good standing after a few months of uninterrupted subscribing.

I got what I wanted from Walmart which was just the $29 Jlab headphones. I’m the only one in the family that doesn’t have a pair of noise canceling ones for flights.
