Steam+ Deals Mega Thread (All PC Gaming Deals)

Same as why the hell would anybody buy Destiny 2 The Final Shape on console for $100 or less any longer; look what you've done to its value via Humble. They are literally giving away the entire game anthology, all of the content, for $30 that paying customers, no your direct supporters, spent $500+ on over six years. While trying to sell the latest expansion for $100 on Xbox and PS still. Companies keep training us to never buy anything new. Dafuq am I spending $70 or $100 on a game and then logging in to more monetization? They make you feel like a goat for buying this stuff, especially when new content comes out that you have to buy to keep playing.

Final Shot – 6 minutes. A Hotline Miami like game with quick deaths, some questionable hit boxes, okay enough graphics, sound and music, and it’s just alright overall. I wouldn’t buy it myself, but it would be fine bundled. 6.5/10

Food Fight Fiesta – 17 minutes almost beat demo though last boss was hitting my HP directly regardless of shield. This one is a grid-based deck builder where you attack, move and defend with food. It feels mobile game like, but it’s really interesting when you can move and attack at the same time. Also, some food reacts to other food. It’s a really unique take on deck building for sure with multi use cards. 7/10

FUBUKI ～zero in on Holoearth～ HOLOLIVE ALTERNATIVE – 28 minutes completed demo. This one is an action 2D game where you can slash and do a bunch of moves playing as a Hololive Vtuber. I thought the graphics in this were good and the sound and music were OK. The game only controlled with a DPad of which the Series X controller one is average. Also, the confirm button felt weird as well. Overall, I liked this one, but would only get it bundled. HP sponge bosses almost killed it, but I just had to learn their patterns and beat away. 7/10

FUMES – 9 minutes. Interesting ideas with okay vehicle combat. This one controls okay with the mouse and keyboard and you pretty much shoot up stuff and drive around. It’s not amazing and it doesn’t control amazingly. What really got me was when I had to take on this big boss and a magnet takes you up and it becomes a platforming challenge. This was a horrible idea and after falling off 3 times I was done. This has some potential, but it’s not for me. 6/10

Fur and Fables – 5 minutes completed one level. A very basic survivors type game with annoying level ups, basic graphics, party members instead of skills and you save level ups until you have enough points to upgrade members. Just not very fun and I think will become repetitive quicker than most in this genre. 5/10

GearGrit – 14 minutes abandoned. This one is trying to be an action 3d platforming game from say the PS2 era but comes up short. The side missions are way too short and super precise. One with the floaty jumping took me about 7 times to complete. The story is nonexistent. The graphics are alright, but I just wasn’t enjoying this. 5.5/10

Guns Undarkness – 21 minutes abandoned during the mission. This is a funky gun wielding RPG with some cover mechanics and turn based combat. This is an unpolished mess right now. It has famous people behind it, but the graphics are rough, combat pretty basic and just going around doesn’t control as well with the Series X controller as it should. Also, in missions it should help lead you to objectives. I was just wandering around not sure where to go. This needs a lot of help to be good, and I think it’s just going to be an undercooked very low budget RPG. 6/10

Haneda Girl – 13 minutes completed a few levels. This is one of those somewhat lower bit action games. In this one you play Haneda and slash, dash and shoot your way with a mech through levels. It has some good music and controls very decently with the Series X controller. It’s very high quality, even though it is only a game I’d get in a bundle. 7/10

Haste: Broken Worlds – 7 minutes didn’t like this. I was falling asleep playing the game but it’s one of those run fast, descend at the right time to keep gaining speed. It looks alright and plays well with the Series X controller. I was just not having fun, and literally starting dozing off a bit. Speedrunners and precision platformers will like this game, but it’s not for me. 6.5/10

He is Coming – 24 minutes lost the game twice. This one is combination between an auto battler and adventuring around a map. This game sounds and looks great. The gameplay is simple but not bad. You keep going till a boss comes around and fights you and if you prevail you go on trying to get stronger. You can combine items, items are used in battle, you can have sets, and you just do your best. I really liked this one as it feels like a rogue like in a rogue lite body. I would get this one cheaper or in a bundle. 8/10

HELLBREAK – 8 minutes lost 2 runs. This is a small arena FPS rogue lite game. It has pretty good music and graphics, a little bit slow movement with the mouse and keyboard, some very HP spongey enemies, and some survivor like upgrades after some kills. I think this one is an alright one. I think the gameplay would need a little quickening to be a really good one, but there is a lot of stuff you can unlock and work towards. 6.5/10

I Am Legion: Stand Survivors – 28 minutes lost 2 runs. This one is a survivors game where you are fighting in dungeon rooms. You collect gold, ore to make items, summon characters, combine like equipment/characters to get more levels, combine certain characters to get more powerful forms, and it has decent graphics/music and was just a fun game. I’m not sure how much grinding unlocks will take, but I was having quite a bit of fun. It felt fun and had a lot of different things going for it. I hope the main game, which comes out in like 2 weeks or so has a lot more to offer as well. 8/10

I Will Purify You – 6 minutes. This is just an 18+ arena shooter survivor like game in a 2D space. It doesn’t control particularly well mouse and keyboard and is really simple everywhere. If you do well you can purify those who are sealed. A big pass for me even though the gameplay wasn’t embarrassing. 5/10

Inkborn – 10 minutes. This is a combat demo in a Slay the Spire like game. This game has combos for doing cards in specific orders. It looks good and is fun enough. It does get very hard very quickly though. I had fun in the combat. 7/10

Isle of Reveries – 84 minutes completed demo (was stumped for a solution for a while). This one is very decent Link’s Awakening like game with slightly dodgy jumping (not long enough so you miss a bunch), fast moving enemies that hurt, some hard puzzles and a really good look and sound. It’s very decent and well worth a play especially if you’re missing that old school adventuring gameplay. It will be on Kickstarter sometime in March. 8/10

Kero Quest 64 – 26 minutes completed one level pretty much fully. This is a 3D collectathon ala Super Mario 64. The little frog has a lot of moves and doesn’t always feel 100% fluid in movement. I like the graphics, sound and music. I missed a lot of jumps which drove me a little crazy, but this is quite a bit better than some N64 era 3D platformer throwbacks. I still think some New Lucky’s Adventure are just better. Still recommended enough to try. 7/10

Kiborg – 112 minutes completed demo. This is a very hard third person beat em up with a lot of parrying, dodging, charging and just beating up enemies. It feels a bit slow and clunky sometimes, but it’s a lot of fun. You play someone doing rooms while this alien guy taunts you. You go around beating up everyone and powering up. It has pretty decent graphics and the voices are really good. This one took a while to beat because of the difficulty, but it was fun while I was doing it. It grew on me the more I played. I would buy this on a sale or bundled. 8.5/10

A La Card - 3.2 hours. I don’t know if the time is correct, but this is a super unique recipe deck building game where you try to use your cards and recipes to satiate customers. The bosses are super tough and between levels you get ingredients/recipes/techniques. The graphics have a nice hand drawn feel to them and the music gets repetitive but is nice enough. This was very challenging and the farthest I got was level 3. I highly recommend this one for someone wanting to play something that actually feels innovative. 10/10

Little Problems – 10 minutes gave up during third puzzle. This feels like a mobile game where you search clues and get facts which you place into a story for a solution. I don’t really like it much even though the graphics are cute. Just not very exciting to me. 5.5/10

Lost in Random: The Eternal Die – 69 minutes completed demo. This one is a very obvious Hades like taking place in the Lost in Random setting. This succeeds by being very clean in action, plenty of difficulty and a unique skill system with dice placement which unlock skills and passives as well. This is a really fun one and it takes a few runs to beat it. I was ready to play more, but the demo ended. It looks excellent, the voice acting is great, the sound/music are strong and it controls amazingly with the Series X controller. One of the better demos this fest. 9/10

Luck & Loot – 33 minutes died after 3 levels. This one is a minimalistic feeling dice building rogue lite where you roll dice to get through battles. You can customize dice according to energy total. Everything is relatively easy to understand, which also makes it a slight bit boring, but it’s fun enough. I like this one, although it didn’t excite me too much. 7.5/10

Lunarium – 70 minutes completed demo. This one is kind of a mix between Dark Souls and Monster Hunter with big fights, lots of random creatures around, decent enough but clunky Series X controls, wonky translation with a somewhat boring story, good graphics and somewhat clunky slow battles. It’s not too bad, but feels unpolished at times. The story is the worst part and the somewhat not exciting exploration. This feels like a good enough bundled game, but I doubt I would buy it. 7/10

Magic Rune Stone – 46 minutes lost three runs. This one is an arena based rogue lite kind of super indie Hades like game. This one is a lot less polished than Hades but still has some fun. It has some like some auto battler games where skills stack and the more you have the better a passive is or such. The hit boxes are a little unforgiving, the Series X controls are good enough, and the graphics/sound are just OK. What I don’t like as much is there is very little flinch so you hit enemies and they will keep doing what they’re doing. It makes it so it’s easy to get hit. Also, the bosses have a mass amount of HP and feel more like grinds that aren’t as fun. Just a barely passing for me but this is likely only a bundle game. The localization also has some typos. I don’t remember a story at all. 7/10

Moroi – 28 minutes abandoned run. This was a really creepy looking, super janky overhead action kind of souls like game. The story is weird and doesn’t make too much sense. The graphics are the best part and a puzzle in the game kept killing me and I couldn’t figure it out and it bugged out during it as well. Just a bit too unpolished and obtuse at times. The atmosphere is great though. 6/10

Mountain Boy – 12 minutes completed demo. This is a very simple OK looking mountain climbing 2D platformer. The music is very simple, the Series X controller is good in this game. Pretty much the main thing is a stamina meter, jumping and moving around and climbing as far as you can while getting green stars (more stamina) to eventually reach the peak (a gold star). It’s super simple and honestly was a little fun. I would likely only get it bundled, but it is better than some of those more complicated climbing games in 3D. 7/10

Murder Inc – 6 minutes abandoned after like 2 levels. This one is a weird kind of real time with slowdown kind of like Hotline Miami. This one looks OK but wow is it difficult and hard to time things especially against bullets. I wasn’t having fun at all and it was frustrating unlike other Hotline Miami likes. 5.5/10

MUSESTRUCK – 30 minutes abandoned. I just didn’t like this one much. There is a lot of talking and then you get to the action which is kind of like a Cave Story 2D platforming shooting adventure. The graphics are solid enough but the action is kind of bad IMHO. It’s doable, but the main quirk is switching between characters as one can break through blue blocks and the other makes platforms with red blocks. The story just wasn’t that interesting and very slow moving and the exploring was just OK. I was done once I just didn’t want to do annoying switching blocks puzzle and got stuck on it. 6/10

Mycelium – 11 minutes. This one is a turn based almost puzzle like RPG like game where it’s simple looking but you use items and sometimes techniques and avoid in battle while sometimes attacking surroundings or pushing enemies to survive. It’s alright overall and does a whole lot with a simple feel and look. The little mini games for doors and such are kind of annoying. I think it is better as a sum of its parts and is passable and would be fine bundled. 6.5/10

Nautical Survival – 25 minutes died two times to a boss. This is a survivor game except it takes place in a boat. You find different buildings on the map which give different upgrades. The graphics are pretty good. Because you’re in a boat the handling isn’t as clean and makes it more challenging. You fish your coins and can shoot from your boat. You start with a weapon but can eventually get more weapons and crew. The boss does a lot of damage and you don’t do as much. Overall, I think it’s a good idea and has good concepts. I think it has potential. 7/10

Neo Junk City – 57 minutes completed demo. This one is a weird combination of pretty good graphics, neo futuristic city, you play as a metal cop with assets and go around interacting trying to figure out a mystery in an adventure game with some action elements. These sections are a little strange (a driving game that controls okay and a lot of Hogan’s Alley type battles which are a bit repetitive but fine). The characters and the story seem decent enough. The puzzles are also not crazy to figure out. I liked this enough and it showed a lot of heart. The mini games actually bring down the experience a bit, but they’re not super hard for the most part. Overall, I would get this one cheaper or in a bundle. 8/10

Neon Apex: Beyond the Limit – 17 minutes completed a few races. This is a racing game with a career mode and a story mode (a little nonsense) with a pretty sleek look overall for the racing and the cars. The character models are pretty basic but OK. This one controls alright and I’m sure later racers will be harder. It’s very arcade like and has a pretty pumping electronic soundtrack. I don’t play racing games much, but this would be a fine enough bundle game. There is potential here. 7/10

Nitro Express – 9 minutes. This is my winner of one of the best-looking pixel games that plays like total poop. This one is a 2D action-adventure kind of trying to be a Metal Slug like game, but it plays and controls awfully. The story and characters seem quite nice but the game just functions sluggishly. If it had anywhere near the speed of Metal Slug, Contra or even Mercenary Kings, I think it would be alright. It just felt like a frustrating mess that I’m sad turned out to play so badly IMHO. There is potential cause the graphics are excellent, but the gameplay is just too slow and clunky. 5/10

Noobs are Coming – 12 minutes died on one run. This one is a Brotato clone about you playing a big boss in an MMORPG and you’re there to kill noobs powering up between levels. This is pretty unpolished though very playable. It is one of those if you’ve gotten tired of Brotato you can play it, but it won’t be as good. Like Brotato like tags stack to get bonuses. I would only get this bundled, but it played okay enough. 6.5/10

OGORA: Prologue – 18 minutes lost after 2 levels to a boss. This is a Slay the Spire like game where you dig through tunnels and there is some magic to cast skills you have. Otherwise, it’s pretty similar and not that exciting and a little unpolished at times. 6/10

Out and About – 24 minutes completed demo. This is a wholesome game about foraging, identifying and making things with ingredients while you help a little town where your grandma lives. It looks pretty nice, controls pretty good and was relaxing and fun. I like the character portraits as well. This would be an easy buy in a wholesome bundle although I don’t play these types of games as often. 7/10

The First Berserker: Khazan – Way too long beat demo on the PS5. The PC version is similar except with better graphics. This one is a souls like with some anime visuals. It actually has a story that seems okay enough. The game for normal enemies is pretty alright though hard if you don’t play strategy. You get different weapons eventually and can fine tune your playstyle. This one is one of the better of this genre of games and is more akin to Sekiro cause parrying is essential for many harder enemies. Now one big big big dislike is the actual bosses are cheap and all yes but also very HP spongey. I remember pretty hard Dark Souls bosses, but these feel like you need to be perfect because it takes a lot to wear them down. Both took a long time to get through in the demo and both were a pain. You feel good after doing them, but really this is not good. Other than that, the game other than cheap deaths now and then was pretty good. I am rating it lower because of the good boss battles that have way way way too much HP. Also, the parrying and dodging frames are very tight and I feel sometimes my presses were missed leading to damage. Still worth a try if you’re into these types of games. 7/10

Gothic 1 Remake – 19 minutes abandoned. This one didn’t run too badly from me but it had some pretty bad jankiness mainly in combat, had some bugs already (I talked to someone twice in a row on accident and got stuck just looking at each other), Had bouts of slowness at times, and frankly the demo is kind of a mess overall. I just wanted to try out combat and a few quests if possible. Also there seems to be no autosave so be sure to save before you go in combat (I didn’t and wasted time). This is a wait for sale likely unless reviews are glowing on release. It looks really nice and the voice actors are good, but it doesn’t feel amazing to play. For a remake that’s not a great sign. 6/10

The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- - 78 minutes completed day one. This one is the Danganronpas team’s new game. It is a mix of visual novel like all the Danganronpa games and a strategy game set in an interesting setting of which I will not spoil the story. It has crazy characters as usual of the team, an interesting story likely filled with a million twists. It runs excellently and looks good. I think it will be fine on the Switch if you get it there (I will) because the battle graphics are not too fancy and I’m pretty sure other graphics will be fine on the Switch. Highly recommended and I’ve already pre-ordered this one and am glad it seems like it will be a fun game. 10/10

KIDDO – 4 minutes. I just hated this game. It’s a black and white adventure game about some kid wearing a mask and no pants and it’s just depressing. It starts with showing just endless days of pizza and tv and the dog disappears cause the owner just stays there. It’s hard to tell anything in this game because every room is a mess, which may be the point of it all, but I hated it. I like adventure games overall but this is not for me. 5/10

Monster Train 2 – 15 minutes lost horribly on the boss. I may be super rusty but I didn’t seem to be able to kill just about anything on my demo play. I just felt too weak, but I may just need to learn the clans. It’s more Monster Train, which is a great alternative to Slay the Spire. I didn’t love the original, but it was solid and fun to play until it wasn’t. I’m still sure I’ll get it on release. 8/10

PaperKlay – 29 minutes abandoned level. This is just a cute looking 3D platformer with cardboard asthetics. The voice acting, controls, and music are good enough. The main thing is I couldn’t find the main objective super easy so I quit. This one is a very decent 3D collectathon, but also not exciting at all. Good enough for a bundle at least. 7/10

Paws and Whiskers – 11 minutes lost to boss in story mode. This is a not extremely well localized Backpack Battles clone, but not as clean and not as fun. The main quirk of this one is troops that are in your backpack and magic spells from scrolls in your backpack. Just a bit too unpolished and honestly just not that fun for an auto battler. 5.5/10

Pokettohiro – 3 minutes got bored quickly. This one is a 2D adventure action game with floaty controls for both jumping and sword swinging with the Series X controller. The music was pretty decent the GBC aesthetic was nice, but I was bored quickly. The story was a usual bad guy takes the land and good guy fights him. I think this is OK enough bundled, but I was not feeling it. 6/10

Promise Mascot Agency – Close to 2 hours the demo had a limit on the PS5. This was a surprise. I didn’t know what to expect but I didn’t expect Mascot Agency management in a small town that’s run down in a chill small open world environment. This is from the Paradise Killer creators so expect some weird mascots and other characters. I was enjoying playing this quite a bit and it was relaxing and pretty fun. It’s really wacky and might have a strange or disturbing story later, but for now it was really nice and is my type of relaxation game. Easy buy on purchase to support these types of games. 9/10

Psionic Sentry: Infinite – 20 minutes completed demo. This one is a very unpolished one-person indie arena third person action game with skills. It has rogue lite elements for leveling skills. Honestly it was pretty fun and the models for the characters were nice and everything worked as intended. I honestly commend the effort to making a very playable game, one which I may get once it releases out of EA to support these types of games. 7/10

Redemption of Liuyin – 23 minutes completed first level after dying to boss 4 times. This is a very janky Chinese Sekiro like. It is a souls like where it is better to parry and attack afterwards as the dodge is a little janky and should be for when the enemy does unavoidable attacks. The controls are decent enough although floaty for the Series X controller. The graphics are decent. The game does not need QTE, but they come between areas. Honestly it’s way too janky to recommend, but I would love it bundled as there is some potential here and it was decently fun when I could get the controls to work well. 6.5/10

Reignbreaker – 52 minutes beat mini boss but died. This one is a nice looking somewhat janky HP spongey Hades clone. This one has a lot of style but some bad choices. First of all, its annoying enemies are on the map. You get a lot of enemies spawned from challenges, which offer skill level ups, but the enemies around are just sponges to maybe get you some more currency. The story is not amazing and I hate that you have to execute bell like enemies and some others. There is a lot of questionable decisions that keep me from recommending it. It’s very close, but a bit too janky and time wasting IMHO. 6.5/10

Resimon – 15 minutes. Garbage adult Pokemon inspired game. It isn’t label 18+ but I think one of the monsters had a hard on. Also, there is some adult language and some of the monsters are something like a head with a neck with a needle in it. You pretty much are thrown out by your mom because you’re a loser. Just not funny, slow fighting with slow animations, and a dumb story and characters. 4.5/10

Rogue Loops – 7 minutes abandoned early. This game is getting positive reviews but it sucks pretty badly IMHO. I don’t know which designer’s idea thought it was a good idea to alternate between two rooms endlessly getting buffs/skills between. The graphics are nice, the control is okay, the skill system sucks with a cooldown based on how many hits you do to enemies so skills are constantly waiting to be used again. It’s a Hades like, but no where near as good. I got bored and it felt more like a Diablo like because my skills weren’t available a good portion of the time. Just very boring and extremely repetitive feeling. 5.5/10

Roots Devour – 10 minutes abandoned. This is another one where the other reviews like it a lot. It feels to me like a not so fun puzzle game where you have to keep spreading your roots as a cult tree. I don’t care for the story or the gameplay, although I liked the graphics and sounds. This could be for you if you just like building up blood by draining things by extending your roots. Not for me at all, but I could see this being good for someone. 6/10

Rusty Rabbit – 25 minutes completed demo. This is a Metroidvania where all the characters are rabbits and you play Rusty who is an old rabbit and you do digging in a mech thing and explore and collect parts and stuff. The voice acting is decent with a not too amazing story. The graphics are pretty nice and overall, it’s a fun enough better than most Metroidvania. It’s interesting NITRO PLUS is behind this since they’re known for VNs, but it will be an alright enough side game. I don’t think it’s amazing, but it controlled well enough and was fun enough playing. 7.5/10

SANAE's Sylphid Breeze – 7 minutes lost my lives and it restarted from beginning. Just a Kirby clone with cute graphics, Touhou characters, and some very awkward dpad only Series X controls. It was alright, but seemed punishing. Would only get it bundled. 6.5/10

Shadowveil: Legend of The Five Rings – 93 minutes beat act one. I started badly in this one and grew overtime to understand the mechanics. In the beginning you want to liberally abuse camps because everyone is so weak to start. This is a weird autobattler with classes and skills and positioning at the beginning of battle. You have to grind a little because your first set of characters is awful. After a bit of understanding you get to know more, even though I think the grind is always there. It was fun enough once I got it and it’s a balance of abilities that helps win the game. I liked this after that early frustration for sure. 8/10

Shotgun Cop Man – 35 minutes completed demo with a few deaths on the boss level. This one is just plain awesome. It plays amazingly with the mouse and keyboard and is a speed running shot gunning around shooting demons game. The story is nonsensical, but this is a pure gameplay game. The graphics and sound are good enough, and this would be an amazing bundle game, and maybe a heavy sale game for me. 9/10

Skewer of Heroes – 37 minutes lost 2 runs. This one is another survivors game where party members are in it and the attacks depend on them with items giving passive bonuses mainly and some stuff like turrets. Overall, this one is not too amazing, but would be alright bundled. It also doesn’t help the HP of enemies is very high and you won’t get anywhere close to winning the first few runs. 6.5/10

Slot & Dungeons – 10 minutes completed one dungeon. This one is a simple dungeon crawler where the floor layout is generated by slot machine. You don’t have to kill every monster on a floor but it’s smart to get XP. You will unlock extra dungeon pieces which you will spin on future rooms. This one is just a bundle game overall as it’s pretty basic and not super exciting. I won but I didn’t do anything special other than heal between attacks for the boss. 6.5/10

Star Fire – 55 minutes completed the quite a few level demo after one loss. This game is a ridiculous massive HP MMO action feeling game where you are on the 2D plane and auto attack with a held button while your other moves are on cooldown and you can dodge and perfect dodge to do massive damage. This is all balanced out with some bosses and elites having massive HP pools. I know I was doing massive damage and the last boss still took a few minutes because of how much HP they had. Honestly it was kind of fun, but the repetitiveness was kicking in, there was no story, and any enhancements were boring me. It just adds more and more flare and numbers. This is a very generous demo and feels almost like a full game, but it’s lacking polish and balance for sure. Still worth a try, but would only get bundled. 6.5/10

Starless Abyss – 21 minutes abandoned. This one is a turn-based deck building rogue lite on a grid in space vs aliens. It is pretty tough and a lot of your cards are expensive and you have to figure out what’s right according to what the enemy intentions are. This is a pretty unique game and looks and sounds great. It gets really hard and I’m sure will take a while to really do good in the game. It wasn’t super exciting overall, but gave a solid enough game to get it bundled or relatively cheap. 7.5/10

Streets of Rageness: Beat 'Em Up Fighter – 2 minutes completed demo (was a short one level demo). This is garbage. It feels like it has art assets from some pack, generic music, AI generated character portraits and art for the main game page banner. This is about as low effort as you can get and I never want to play anything like this again. 1/10

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown – 6 minutes abandoned. This feels like a minimal turn based mobile port of a relatively boring game. You just take out enemies, new terrain appears, you eat pizza to restore health and you move on. This was not my type of game although I love the turtles. Just super simple. 6/10

Tenebris Somnia – 33 minutes completed demo. This is an older demo and is a horror action-adventure game about a girl who has an ex and finds some crazy stuff in his apartment. The combat is a little wonky, but this is a creepy game and it mixes in live action parts that are also creepy and well done. This is really unique even though I rarely play horror games. I would get it bundled or cheaper, but it was really well done. 8/10

Total Loadout – 33 minutes lost first run and won the second. This is a weird take on Backpack Battles. It is a little more fleshed out than some, but it was confusing for when things trigger and such, but it’s not bad at all. The graphics are pretty nice and the gameplay moved quickly. Just seemed to be some weird targeting and triggering. It has potential though. Also taunt and shield can be broken. 7/10

Twisted Tower – 49 minutes completed demo. This is a very obvious Bioshock inspired game set in a twisted carnival. The graphics, sound and music are creepy. The game is probably best with mouse and keyboard but all the prompts are only for the Series X controller when I played. Not the hardest game but pretty good and I think was a lot more interesting than some like the Sesame Street inspired FPS (forget the name now). Likely would only get it bundled, but it’s on my radar. 7/10

Vanguard Exiles – 11 minutes abandoned run. Richard Garfield what is up with this auto battler? It is random in a way and you work up round by round getting some VP to try to get to a total. It auto battles in rooms like a board game of sorts with different rooms having different VPs and powers. It’s okay enough though very confusing. I just was not having fun at all and it felt like the VP threshold was very high. It just felt like a board game I wouldn’t play, but because of the designer I’ll keep my eye on it anyway. 6/10

Vaporware Odyssey – 3 minutes an odd vaporwave themed rouge lite with a cat with a sword and it’s kind of wonky and weird and controls a little floaty. It was alright for what it was and I didn’t hate it, but I wouldn’t ever buy this. 5.5/10

Villages & Dungeons – 10 minutes. This is a strange auto battler where you choose cards and then they do stuff and activate on cooldowns and have dice that sometimes work, and it’s just confusing and mess honestly. Also, the window is tiny on my widescreen. There is a lot of AI art too right now, and while I can see potential, it needs a lot of work. 5.5/10

Wanderstop – 37 minutes completed demo. This is a cozy tea shop running game from two creators of both Stanley Parable and Tacoma. This is exactly my type of cozy game. It’s whimsical, relaxing, and there is actually a story in this one. The main character is a fighter who is on lower times after losing a fight and going downhill. She really wants to meet her idol which is a former fighter. She becomes exhausted when travelling and ends up in a tea shop run by a man. He offers to help her in her rut by letting her help out in the tea house. I was getting into the narrative, the controls with the Series X controller are workable, and everything just takes time in this and it is actually relaxing. The tea shop is in an interesting place and the way things works is not just normal planting and such. I was almost going to skip this one, as it was one of my last demos. I’m glad I didn’t because I liked it a lot, and it really felt beautiful and calming. I may buy this one on release, but I would get it on sale or bundled. 10/10

Wheel World – 18 minutes completed demo. This is a really decent biking open world game with races and other things. The DX12 mode was a little wonky performance at times, but it ran well enough. It controlled excellently with the Series X controller and was a decent amount of fun. I’d probably get it on a good sale or bundled. There was a lot of heart in it and the feeling of it was nice. The racing actually felt pretty good as well. 8/10

Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade – 45 minutes completed demo. This is a Hades like except with demons and some okay fighting. It’s not as clean as Hades, but it’s pretty easy to control with the Series X controller. The story is okay as well having some drama and some silly comedy as well. It would be a good bundle game for sure, as it isn’t amazing, but it seems like it will be a decent game. 7/10

Zero Order Tactics – 5 minutes completed tutorial then it crashed. This is kind of a god strategy/puzzle game where you can influence units, but they move themselves and you need to protect/guide them as much as you can. It seems okay enough, but I couldn’t play much either. I would say it has potential, although I probably would just get it bundled. 6.5/10

Game of the Fest - A La Card. I think this is the demo I played longest and was having some of the most fun with. It isn't as polished as some other games, but was very unique and had a lot of potential. The music was the only thing that was a little grating, but I always like to support the smaller games in the fests.

Best Action Game - Shotgun Cop Man. This one was easily one of the most unique games played in the fest. It controlled so well and makes for a great speed running game.

Best Auto Battler - Knightica/Shadowveil: Legend of The Five Rings. Knightica was very easy to understand, easy to play, colorful and nice, and was just fun overall. There seemed to be a good amount to the battle system because of spells on armies and leveling up armies. Shadowveil took a bit to grow on me, but was very fun once I figured things out. I think the skill system along with the equipment system helped make it more customizable, as well being able to choose things on level up. The grindy unlock nature may be its downfall, but there could be something here.

Best Deck Builder - A La Card. One of the more unique deck building games where you get ingredients with different traits/stats and try to make recipes and satiate customers' needs in a food truck. I always praise originality and this one was a heck of a lot of fun.

Best Hades Like - Lost in Random: The Eternal Die. There was a lot of this type of rogue lite this fest. A lot where decent enough and many were pretty poor, but this game was super high quality, easy to play, great looking and had a decent narrative.

Best Metroidvania - Rusty Rabbit. This genre is usually overrepresented in fests, but I didn't play as many, and many were not games I would likely buy. Rusty Rabbit had a decent enough narrative and pretty solid enough gameplay in a weird underground area with a lot of scrap. I think it will be a pretty cool game that has some good action.

Best Platformer - Advent Neon. An excellent Sonic inspired game with a great sense of speed and a very fun brawling system. The graphics were good too and I wanted to keep playing levels.

Best Relaxing Game - Promise Mascot Agency/Wanderstop. These both were excellent quirky unique games. I rarely play this genre but both had me wanting to explore more of the world and the people in there. I feel Promise Mascot Agency is the more obvious going to be a good game, but I believe there is something special in Wanderstop.

Best Rogue Lite - Kiborg/Monster Train 2. Kiborg was a really awesome mix of third person beat em up and rogue lite. It is hard and has a lot of interesting things going on. Monster Train 2 has similar gameplay to the original but looks to expand on it with new clans/card/equipment/etc... with some graphics that are alright.

Best Survivor Game - I Am Legion: Stand Survivors. This category showed that these games are getting very old and repetitive with many just not innovating too much or just being poor quality games. It's probably easy to make these type of games. This game had unique elements in the party system, equipment system, needing to mine and moving through areas by unlocking doors with money. It seemed relatively deep and was a lot of fun figuring out different combinations of classes.

Best Visual Novel - The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- Not a lot of great visual novels this fest although there were solid ones. I think this one has the most chance of being very interesting after the somewhat tropey start. There is a lot of potential and very strange characters. For more traditional ones Mirage Noir/Winter Girl both had interesting stories and characters.

Just take Deus Ex: HR type of semi open-world stuff for main and side missions. On Normal, you actually feel like Robocop: a slow moving tank of a half-man and half-robot that can run through enemies like nothing. You can die on Normal and I did die a few times, but that don't feel like on Normal is the point here. The point's really to make you actually feel like and actually BE Robocop, like he was almost indestructible in the first 2 movies and can just wreck enemies. It's a very violent & bloody mess of a riot, to say the least.

As Robocop, you're not Adam Jensen - no, this isn't a stealth-game; not at all. This is an action-packed FPS with some light RPG-upgrading elements (upgrade and learn skills, moves, and more) and do some decision-making. This is way more straight-forward. Do you help the public or go against them? Well, it's up to you; there are decisions to make, of course - like other games of this sort. And also per each area/section/chapter - you'll get graded and scored on how good you do; whatever evidence and Lore you find; and more. I'd guess it's going to be tougher for gamers on Harder difficulties for those who want a challenge and whatnot - which I'll probably have to check out way later b/c it does feel a bit Easy on Normal purposely, namely to get you into the story & keeps its pace of that going; and to actually make you feel like you actually are that tank-y & almost indestructible Robocop.

This game is smart, taking place after the Robocop 2 movie and before the mixed-bag Robocop 3 movie. TBH, this Robocop: Rogue City game feels like the real Robocop 3 that I've always been wanting.

EDIT:
The only real complaint that I might have here is performance & stability can be....a mixed-bag. So, you only have checkpoint-saves here - you can't just save at anytime here, sadly. With DLSS On and/or DLAA On, the game would crash every now and then on both my Gigabyte RTX 3060m laptop (R5 5600H, 16GB RAM, RTX 3060m with 6gb VRAM, 1 TB SSD & W11) and my CyberPower RTX 3070 desktop (with Intel i7 10700KF, 16gb RAM, RTX 3070 with 8gb VRAM, numerous SSD's and HDD's & W10). Flipping NV-based upscaling off solved that & using no upscaling tricks or turning on AMD's FSR3 instead was fine. Performance-wise, I can run it fine at 1080p at 40-60fps at Medium settings mostly on my 3060m laptop - and to solve that, locked it down to 40fps with NV's Control Panel. On my CyberPower desktop, it could run at 1080p at High with mostly 50-60fps on the regular with Lumen On.
