Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

At this point, they are really living up to their name...game, stop. Stop gaming.

Anyway...

I was going to use a $25 gift card I had towards a preorder, but I don't know. It's confirmed that gift cards can't be used on PSN or Meta or eshop cards anymore, right?

gamestop raising another $1.3 billion

how on earth is anyone dumb enough to keep investing in a company that is only afloat because they are earning interest on $4 billion they scammed from gullible reddit idiots.

And their brilliant plan after 4 years of doing nothing but shutting stores is to BUY BITCOIN LOL

I'm curious if anyone has had an item you could order for pickup in store be cheaper than what the item actually sells for at the brick and mortar location?

Ordered a clearance t-shirt this morning to use my free $5 on and assuming it gets filled for pickup, it was 60% cheaper than what it showed in store when I was there yesterday. 🤔

Most likely they never updated the price tags at the store.

Hoping the Most Wanted trade promo is tomorrow. Been 5 weeks since the last one, and that one wasn't very good for a lot of the triple a Switch titles.

Welp, this isn't the week. Those trade values are just embarrassing. $18 for high profile Switch first party games means they must not want trades.

I dont know, there are some games with some unusually high values. this may not be the bump we want but instead the bump we get stuck with? pokemon arceus is $35 base and there are several $30 base games as well, monster hunter, wwe 2k25, mario party jamboree. maybe they have been at that value for a while but i don't remember seeing any $30 base games for a while.

Arceus has had that base for at least a week. I already traded it.

Round 2 of 4 for 40 was a success. Complete RDR2, Greedfall, HZD Complete and Kena Bridge of Spirits all for PS4. Also used my $5 to get Jedi Fallen Order for free since they didn't have enough stuff for the 4/10.

ETA: Wish I'd seen the Arceus trade value earlier. I finished it a while ago and haven't wanted to replay. May go back out tomorrow to trade it in.

What's weird about 3D All Stars going up in value so much is that there are over 10 million copies of it floating around out there. I'm almost leaning towards trading it in, but every few weeks the value seems to go up instead of down. It may trade in for $100+ by the summer. I know I'm never going to actually play it again either.

This is the same thing with other popular games. They sold a lot so there is a lot out there, but there isn't a lot out there for sale. Most people keep their copies, and then demand is higher than what's for sale. So price goes up.

That coupled with sellers hoarding copies and obviously gs as well to drive up prices.

There are a lot of copies. But it’s probably also the game that the most people own multiple copies off possibly ever made? I’ve never owned 2 copies of the same game. I have 2 copies of 3d all stars (one I’m keeping sealed and one open so I can play it)

Yeah you can easily find New copies on secondary markets for less than what Gamestop sells it for used. It'll still continue to go up, just not a drastic increase anytime soon.

If I order Mario RPG(great price with the double dip, btw) how many days do I have to pick up. Would like to wait until Tuesday so I can use my monthly on something when I pick up. Gamestop just no longer in my regular errands driving area.

The policy seems to be 3 days. I've picked up orders around 5 days later but I've also had orders canceled on the 4th day. Looks like you should still be good for Tuesday

This is from an email when I ordered an item:
We will hold on to your item(s) for 3 days from date of purchase

That's my struggle nowadays, especially with only one store nearby now. If I gotta go through the awkwardness of trading in a game back to the same Gamestop, I'd prefer it'd be more than just $5 worth of profit from flipping. Otherwise, I'll have to time it when I'm running errands lol

I also don’t expect that GameStop to live through the next batch of closings. So then the next closest will be way out of any regular driving for me. At least my Pro is up in May.

I came here just to says that Super Mario RPG is part of the 4 for 40 deal, but others beat me to it. Picked it up today, along with a few other games I wanted for 38 bucks. A tad disappointed that I tried to pick up Monster Hunter Rise as well, but it was "mispriced" at 19.99 and not part of the sale. Still, I was so pumped about the Super Mario RPG deal, I didn't even complain, which is pretty unlike me lol

I had that happened to me a few times. Every time the reps adjusted the price for me, however doing so still does not include it in the 4 for $40 promo. All 4 titles will have to be manually overridden to give you the correct pricing.

SW: Fallen Order PS5 dropped back down to 19.99, at one point GS was selling copies for over $50. I flipped my copy a while back, as MSRP was $20 and traded in for much more. Picked it back up yesterday with a few other titles.

Anyone know if it's possible to filter their site by a price range any more?

I have the option on the app.
