Yeah, I doubt we'll get Deus Ex MD: Part 2 sadly too.
Also, if you ain't played A Criminal Past DLC - it's great! Go play it! It's MD's TML of sorts, more or less; and then some. Though, ACP feels like a stand-alone story, even if they do tie it a bit into the main MD storyline.
To sum the above video up - i.e. Eidos Montreal worked on MD for like 5 years; Square wanted the game out the door yesterday so Square split the team in half to get one half of the team to wrap-up stuff and the other half to get to work on MD2; MD2 got cancelled b/c of poor sales.
Also, Square was busy trying to follow the Marvel money train and then stuck Crystal Dynamics on Marvel's Avengers ("bleh") and then stuck Eidos Montreal on Guardians of the Galaxy action-RPG (awesome game - it's like a linear Mass Effect of sorts in the Marvel Universe).
If you want to know where MD Part 2 was actually headed and how it would've tied into OG Deus Ex eventually, see this from one of the writer on HR & MD:
To sum up where it was headed MD2 was headed & how it'd tie in Deus Ex 1:
Basically, Jensen in MD2 was eventually going to have his tragic downfall and also Jensen was going to be the cause of Bob Page actually finally turning into that "Monster" villain Bob Page we saw in Deus Ex - which leads right directly into Deus Ex.
Jensen's death was actually supposed to happen in HR, but MD retconned that b/c Jensen got too popular as a character & was too beloved by its fanbase. We were supposed to originally get a new hero in MD, but...that plan got scrapped.
Also, if you ain't played A Criminal Past DLC - it's great! Go play it! It's MD's TML of sorts, more or less; and then some. Though, ACP feels like a stand-alone story, even if they do tie it a bit into the main MD storyline.
All the content-DLC's are good for MD - but, A Criminal Past DLC is the real star of the DLC Show there.
Also, ACP DLC feels like its also on some Dishonored stuff too. Namely b/c you can opt in (or not) into Augments (think like The Outsider does for in say Dishonored games where you can opt in or not into Superpowers), which are all Black Market in prison. They have side effects, if you take 'em too.
And ACP DLC feels like a better conclusion to the MD storyline, since it's mostly its own thing. It also felt like set-up for MD2, which we never got b/c it does go more into...
...Who else actually sits in the Illuminati chairs storyline, basically setting up who'd Jensen be at war w/ in MD2. Not much here on this, but still something.
Though, I'm glad one of the writers explained where the heck Deus Ex MD2 was actually going, as I feel a bit better knowing how it actually should've tied into OG Deus Ex [2000].
Notes:
-> So, if you're playing and notice quests get modified (with mods) - don't save!
-> Capcom is planning to hand out suspensions, bans, etc. on players w/ saves that have dealt w/ anything modified by players.
Yeah, so...I don't wanna deal w/ this nonsense, so I got questions; esp. for gamers who got this on PC.
1. Does MHW have a "no other players allowed mode" while playing online type of mode?
B/c when I buy the game way later - well, I'll just use that, if there is.
2. Does MHW have an offline mode and I don't say gain Achievements there?
B/c to me, that's a good option too, for whenever I buy this game, down the road.
I don't wanna deal w/ any of this nonsense of mods - I just wanna play the game.
Blue Prince Review after FINALLY beating it after 19.8 hours. It was a very frustrating journey where I went from being excited to just feeling miserable near the end.
First of all this is a first person rogue lite exploring game. The rogue lite is drafting rooms in this mansion where you are a nephew and trying to find a special room to claim your inheritance. Rooms are filled with items (gems for buying rooms, gold coins for buying stuff from shops, keys for unlocking doors and other special items you'll figure out how to use). There are certain classifications to each room with them corresponding to a color such as brown rooms being hallways. You generally get to use each room in your drafting pool once, but over time get more rooms, and have to solve puzzles to try to get to the mystery and eventually the hidden room to claim this place. There are puzzle rooms (not very many) that get repeated over and over that you will tire of. I was sick of the dart puzzle by the end. It's recommended to take notes for every note/page/whatever found as it likely leads to clues to figuring out one time puzzles in the dungeon. I did feel good figuring out these puzzles and making notes, so that part of the game was fine. There are many parts I don't like which I'll go through in a different section.
The music/sound/graphics are all good enough although the music is mainly ambient and does come out now and then. Your movement in the mansion is alright controlled with mouse and keyboard although you run very slow. The main gameplay is drafting rooms with certain rooms and trying to not get dead ends which make you lose. You also need to keep a good supply of keys and gems with coins being useful as well. The RNG of this rogue lite part becomes a nightmare over time. Sometimes you want to solve a puzzle in a room, but it's missing rooms that need to be in line with it. When you finally get to where you can beat the game (use a guide when you get a certain special item that's very obvious as I wouldn't have figured out one of the puzzles at all without it). At that point I was tired of the game and about to give it up. I gave it another hour or so and luckily in my 3 runs I did at the end (one I reached it but never got something happening) I made it to the ending. The ending I kind of predicted and it wasn't amazing IMHO.
I feel this game loves to waste your time. Every day does a slow pan to the entrance with some music and I forget to mention there is an energy system that you keep up with food and certain rooms. If you don't reach places with enough energy you will faint and have to start a new day. Also if you unlock a certain area you waste energy going there too before even going around the mansion. Your movement is slow and some of the puzzles become infurirating. The puzzles are annoying, but can be done. RNG for items and rooms will drive you bananas and even when you know what you need to do to get the ending, you still have to play by the games RNG and rules so it may take a few times to get the ending even if you potentially unlock it.
Overall I would say this game is worth playing maybe if you like puzzles and it's bundled in a cheaper bundle. There is some frustrating things and some puzzles are very hard to figure out on your own. So much wasting time and slowness. If I could quick travel or something in the place I would have saved hours. My time for the game is also about an hour over what I played as I left it on because you cannot save and quit or it will END YOUR RUN. This is bad design and makes some runs very annoying. I liked the game a decent amount for the first say 10 hours or so, but those last few hours were torture for me to see a lackluster ending. This had potential, but it just had a bit too much repetition. 6.5/10
Yeah, I gave this a shot when I saw you had played it....I noped out after about an hour playtime...two great tastes (roguelite and puzzles) that don't taste great together...you have too much habanero in my peanut butter....or too much RNG in my room selection.
