CLEARFIELD, Pa. - A 100-pound female college student is the first to meet the Denny's Beer Barrel Pub challenge: down the restaurant's six-pound hamburger — and five pounds of fixins' — within three hours.

Kate Stelnick, 19, of Princeton, N.J., made the five-hour drive with two friends from The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, after they saw pictures of the monster burger, dubbed the Ye Old 96er, on the Internet and on TV's Food Network.

"I just saw it on TV and I really thought I could do it," Stelnick said, after downing the burger in two hours, 54 minutes.

Stelnick didn't eat for two days to prepare for the challenge. "I felt very full, but I was too excited that I actually ate it to notice," Stelnick said.

Denny Leigey Jr., the owner of the bar 35 miles northwest of State College, had offered a two-pound burger for years and conceived of the six-pounder after his daughter went to college and phoned him about a bar that sold a four-pounder.

But nobody had finished the big burger in the three-hour time limit since it was introduced on Super Bowl Sunday 1998 — not even competitive eater Eric "Badlands" Booker. The 420-pound Booker — who has eaten such things as 49 glazed doughnuts in eight minutes and two pounds of chocolate bars in six minutes — tried three times to eat the burger and finally did on his third effort. But it took Booker 7 1/2 hours.

The burger takes 45 minutes to cook, and those who try to meet the three-hour limit must use no utensils and eat all of these fixins: one large onion, two whole tomatoes, one half head of lettuce, 1 1/4 pounds of cheese, top and bottom buns, and a cup each of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, banana peppers and some pickles.

Leigey said he was pretty sure somebody would meet his burger challenge, though he didn't have a petite woman in mind.

"I wouldn't have made it if I didn't think it was possible," Leigey said.

For her trouble, Stelnick got a special certificate, a T-shirt and other prizes and — as advertised — Leigey picked up the $23.95 tab for the burger.

I've noticed that weight has nothing to do with how much you can eat fat =/= stomach size. I recently lost around 70 pounds and now I'm actually able to eat more in one sitting then I was previously able to. I believe fat crushes your stomach causing you to feel "full" quicker. Just thought I would throw that in, although that is mighty impressive.

damn That is enough cheese to stop you up for a month. That is a serious burger although betting my fat ass could handle it
Holy shit, she actually goes to my college. I have nothing else to add besides that.
Maybe you should date her. You could storm every burger joint in town.

I have a bunch of friends at the College of New Jersey.

Some girls I dated, and the likes.

Right around the corner is Rider,..... home of the biggest SLUTS in the state!!

Talk about stuffing big things in mouths.
Wow that is disgusting.

Not unless dcfox joins us to regale us with his tales of him and his animal friends. :)

"Hmm...TCNJ is one of the schools I am looking at. Same with Rider. Is that where you go drone?"

No,........ my sister's best friend goes to TCNJ. Along with my ex-love.
My SLUTBAG fiance, was going to Rider,... but besides her,... the school sucks ass!

If you can,.... skip both, and head up the road to Princeton.
If you aren't accepted there,... check out TCNJ.
It's really nice.

Rutgers is crap!! Although the education is decent, depending on your major. My sister, and my brothers ex go there.
They love the education,... but hate the ghetto-ass people.

My brother is at Stockton.
He parties a lot,... so I'm not sure how the education is,... but the frats rock, if you're into that. I'm not.

I went to NJIT for a while,... but dropped out when my dad died. Now I'm USAF,... and I'm reaping the rewards.

I love NJ though,......... even though I didn't care for Garden State,... so when I get back from Japan,... I might actually move back.

Good luck with school.
:)

Thanks!

Yeah, I am looking at schools in the NJ area. I want to be able to come home every now and then without a problem. Most of my friends want to get the hell out of NJ but I like it lol.
TCNJ was really nice when I went to visit it.
And unfortunately I don't think I can get into Princeton.
I have the same opinion of Rutgers. It's a good school education wise, but it wasn't that nice when I went there.

Indeed, if memory serves, the guy that is the world record holder for most hot dogs eaten is a 144 lb Japanese guy, and the woman of the same record only weighs like 110.

TCNJ rocks. We may be in the middle of nowhere, but hell, Jersey on a whole is the middle of nowhere unless you're close to Philly or New York. Though I don't know if I want another Devils fan going to TCNJ . You already probably outnumber the few Flyers fans (myself included) up there.

I think they also have 2 lb and 3 lb burgers as well. If it wasn't such a long drive (4 hours) for me, I would like to go to that place just to see how big the 6 lb burger is.

I'm also curious to see how big this burger is.

TCNJ is my first choice as of now. I am kinda worried though if I will be able to get in. Do you mind if I ask your SAT scores and GPA?

I had a 1310 on my SAT's and I forget what my GPA was, especially because we used a weird curved GPA scale, where since I took AP and Honors courses, my final GPA was over 5.000 on a 6.000 scale. I forget what the non curved GPA was too. To give you an idea, I graduate number 7 in my class and was the top male.

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!!!! Its a monster! A very delicious, yet deadly monster.

"I can feel my heart slowing down!"

Well, I am definately not as good as that. I got a 1270 on my SATs, but that doesn't matter too much as I am a Junior and I still have to take the new ones. My GPA is a 3.78/4.00 for now. I still have a year and a half to improve that or ruin it lol. I am 32 in my class (out of 225).
Unfortunately, I think I might just be under the cut to get in.
That is SO hot.
It kinda is, but If it was a large woman it would be gross. I always find it hot when a I see a pretty girl carry a 64 ounce soda from some fast food chain.
