2nd Gen DS4 and launch PS4 issues

Like the title says, I recently bought a 2nd gen dualshock 4 to use with my launch PS4 and I've had nothing but problems since I paired them. Pressing the ps button will start the controller and PS4, but sometimes the ds4 will disconnect less than a minute after turning on. Other times, after being on with blue sensor bar light glowing, the controller will turn totally unresponsive after 10 or 15 minutes. Nothing on it works and I'm forced to use the reset button on the back, after which the cycle just repeats. After some searching, I've seen mention of the Bluetooth frequency and wifi clashing, but I haven't been able to really do any tests yet.

Any ideas?

I have a new 2nd generation D4, will open it and check it out with my original PS4 and let you know.

I have several 2nd Gen DS4s and have zero issues with them and my launch PS4.

Still have any original DS4s?  Issues with them?  My guess is that it would be the BT on the PS4 and not the controller but you could have a defective controller.
