a real wrestling game

before i start, i just want to apologize if ithis is in the wrong forum, its labeled general so i just assumed....(please dont flame, im sensitive!)

anyway, im a high school wrestler(varsity in case you were wondering :D ) and me and the team have been thinking about how great it would be to get a wrestling game that you can make your wrestler, start out in high school, train him up, go to college etc etc etc. i think it could work out if it incoperates rpg elements in that you have stats to increase, weight to gain or lose, status effects from starving yourself to cut weight and have the move system combo driven but not to the extent where everything is so scripted you cant change your mind mid move, and so on and so forth. if they can make numerous pride and ufc fighting games then im sure they can pull of a real wrestling game right?

anyone else think this could be a good idea for a game? or if anyone might no if this kind of game is coming out(said with a hopeful smile)

Actually, if done well, it could be a cult hit. It's the sort of thing that, like horse racing sims, attract a modest but loyal fan base.

Horse Racing has a much larger fanbase and is followed by a lot more people.
 
well, if it was a clone of no mercy but upgraded and had WWE wrestlers too or something i would buy it... online play too!
 
If you became a pro wrestler I'd buy it. I wrestled in high school too... It's good and fun, but not to watch. Pro wrestling on the other hand, is like an action based drama, it's interesting. Sometimes the story lines suck, but often you can find good writing. I like your idea... *gets to work on it*

indeed it seems like a game worth making
 
Honestly, one of the things that keeps people watching wrestling is the... interesting... cast of characters that exist.
 
i was trying to think of games that wouldnt appeal to the mainstream, but still have success with the crowds that are interested in it and horse racing is the perfect example to that! i really think this would hit home with alot of the wrestlers out there who just overall love the sport. football players get their video games, cant wrestlers have theirs? :D

edit: another great idea to add into the game would be the ability to compete in the olympics.

I think its a good idea!

There are worse games out than this, and people pay the $50 like dumbasses.
