Aerobic vs. Anaerobic Activity

Which one do you prefer working out with? Aerobic is usually good for working out with losing weight (running, basketball, swimming, dancing, etc) while anerobic (weight lifting, push ups, sit ups) focuses on excercises require no oxygen or usually require high energy expenditure but last for shorter duration length compared to Aerobic exercises.
 
For some reason i always thought basketball was anaerobic, with the slowing at each end of the court and what not, and only stuff like constant running where you maintain a heartrate is aerobic. anyway i prefer lifting wieghts, but thats in a whole nother class for me, i really gotta start running or something, i got little to no stamina.
