Anyone have the Vizio VX32L HDTV?

CAGiversary!
I am thinking about getting this set, and was wondering if anyone has one and uses it for gaming. I am looking to hook up my ps3 and 360 to it. If you have one let me know how it is for gaming.

It's actually "Vizio".

I sell a ton of these Vizio 32" LCD's. It should be just like any other HDTV out there. Vizio's have great quality for the price you pay. With an 8ms Response Time you should have no ghosting either with games.

Yeah id like to know also. because I saw it on newegg for like $450

also (since i've never shopped at newegg) are recertified TVs any good?
thanks.

I seen this tv it has good colors. Though I seen lots of people reporting that they stop working easily. I'll buy it but locally to return it if theres a problem.

I just picked up a 26" Vizio for my Wii and PS2. It looks pretty good, but those aren't exactly hi-def consoles. I hooked up my laptop via HDMI and played the Quake Wars BETA in 720p resolution: THAT looked great.

Don't know if it's anything like the VX32L but I have a Vizio L37 and it's pretty shitty. Standard def *anything* looks horrible, including PS2 with component (even with progressive scan turned on in-game).

Won't let me play PS1 games thru my PS2 either. Have to switch to composite to do that. And the lag is so bad on it that I can't play music games anymore unless it has a calibration mode (like Guitar Hero).

My 360 with component looks great on it though. Also emulators on my Xbox that have 1080i mode like NES and TG-16 look awesome on it too.

I have one and I enjoy it a lot. Like other posters have said, standard definition stuff does look pretty bad on it, but that is to be expected I guess. It just really hurts when cable reception in the dorm room is already pretty bad as is, and then to be amplified even more on a high def tv, it's not pretty. But I use it more for games anyways, and it works very well. Xbox 360 and the HD-DVD add on look great through component. One odd thing is that there are issues with playing PS1 games on the PS2 and while using Swap Magic (for legitmate imports, mind you), through component it is always split vertically, like playing split screen. But after Swap Magic is done, the imports play fine through component, so I don't know if it is the TV, or the PS2 (sliver slim model). When I get my PS3, I can update with how that looks through HDMI on that tv as well.

Yeah, but I've seen standard def cable on other lcd tv's and it doesn't look half as bad as it does on these Vizio's. They're REALLY bad, and I'm not even a snotty AV-phile.

Just to give you an idea how bad standard def is on Vizio's, my local Sam's doesn't put them with the other tv's on display that all have standard cable running thru them. They actually use hdmi dvd players on them so you can't tell.

That is a good point about the DVD players that I forgot to mention in my last post. If you get one of these TVs, make sure you have an upconverting DVD player, or a VGA cable for your Xbox 360 (or an Elite with HDMI), because non-upscaled DVDs on this TV will look pretty bad. But, I have been happy with how upscaled DVDs look on it.

Well If you get a crappy one that breaks on you your going to have to ship it back and get a new once. If you can deal with that go for it. + they only got a 90 day warranty.

are those Vizio the ones being sold at WalMart? coz last time i was there, the picture looks awful, and pretty messed. but you can adjust it, right? demo units look weird. so i dunno if those being demoed and displayed are default settings or you need to adjust them to make the blurry picture go away.

i'm actually deciding between vizio and winbook, though.

If you are getting a 32" Vizio don't buy the one from walmart with the black bottom. It has less inputs and theres other things that the VX32L has. I have the VX32L and it has been very good for my PS3, 360, and Wii.

hmmm... ok... will keep that one in mind.
i need to check on those next time i visit wal-mart, since they probably don't carry VX models in my store yet.

I got a 37 inch vizio for 360 and PS3 gaming and its great. If you don't mind getting a refurbished one, then you can get a 37 inch one for under 700 taxed. I got mine for 595+tax off of craigslist, and buy.com had the same one for 600+shipping for a while.

I'm on my second so far. The first one developed a very thin (you wouldn't see it unless you were really close) bright line on the bottom of the screen. The floor model at costco had it also. Now I have the second gen, I guess, which comes with a non-universal black controller (I kept the silver one from the first tv). It's a lot quicker when changing channels and picks up the over the air HD a lot better. Anyway, my Xbox 360 at 1080i looks amazing. I hadn't played Gears for a while on my SD tv, but instantly picked it up since it looked so good. The 37 is pretty much the same tv except bigger (I think it has the exact same everything except screen size). HD-DVDs looked great, but it's a little small to see a big difference. Bottom line though, if you don't want to spend over $1k for a solid HDTV, Vizio delivers. (You should get an extra year of warranty if you buy at Costco.)

Looking forward to playing/watching through HDMI this weekend.

Well it looks like a warranty is a must then....damn. that newegg one looked good.

anyway, does anyone know where I can find the 32" for a similar price and where I can buy a warranty?

Yeah, the L37 I bought was a refurb and it looks new. Only $500 (+$60 ship) thru geeks.com. There was a 1 year warranty on it from Geeks.com and since I used a Master Card, it extended the warranty for an extra year.

Standard def may look like shit but my 360 looks like a dream on it.

According to Consumer Reports its a bad idea to get extended warranties on LCD tvs because they have a very minimum failure rate in the first two years.

I have also read this. I am looking at costco for mine. Anyone know if they still extent your warranty for free or do they just do 90 day returns.
