Beautiful Katamari heading to Wii after all?

When Beautiful Katamari first showed up on the radar (I think it was a Blockbuster computer listing), it was expected for all three new systems. Then, it was a 360 exclusive, in some form, likely timed. Now, rumor has it that the PS3 iteration of the game has been canned in favor of a reworked Wii version.

Still haven't ever played a Katamari game, so I'll just wait it out for this one.

I'm sure I'll get smoked for this but... I don't really care too much about this coming to the Wii. The first Katamari was great, the second one was good, and the PSP one was ok. I can't see this game being anywhere near as fun as the first two (I'll ignore the PSP one since it was mostly due to hardware limitations).

For what it's worth (not much) Gamecrazy has this available for preorder for the 360 and Wii. Personally, I'd prefer the 360 version unless they can come up with a great control scheme for the Wii. My son has been really into playing We Love Katamari recently - he'd be thrilled to get a new version on any system.

Was at Gamecrazy earlier taking advantage on the last day of the extra 50% promo and was asked if I wanted to pre-order something. I looked at the Wii list and asked to pre-order this game. I was surprised to hear it when he mentioned that it was going to be $30. Hopefully Beautiful Katamari will come out for the Wii and at such a great price.

Er, remove the time limits? There is no challenge without time limits.

And besides, in the first game at least, you can unlock "eternal mode" for each stage which lets you do it without time limits. This is nice for my kids who just want to roll around and not worry about the limits. I think this was missing from We Love Katamari (but was back in the PSP game). Hopefully they include that in this new version. I may just end up with BOTH the 360 and Wii versions if they price them appropriately. The 360 one was priced at $39.99 at GC which goes along with the $29.99 pricing for the Wii version. Those both seem fair enough to me...

I have to say, I'd be pretty disappointed to see the PS3 version cancelled, as that's the only version I could have confidence in controlling well.

Not if you shift the "challenge" to something else. I don't know what because I haven't played the game enough, but it can be done.

I just hate being rushed to do something in a game for no apparent reason.

D'oh!! That was supposed to be posted in another thread.#-o

How embarrassing.

i'm happy to see nintendo finally get a katamari game. i really wouldn't mind if they just ported over the original from the ps2.

i'd also really like it if you could control the game with the vc controller. the wii is all about innovative controls. well, this game already has that. so why change it.
