Bestest Cookie?

Even though I'm a "fatty" I don't like sweets that much. Don't have a favorite.

If I do eat a cookie its more important to me that the texture be crunchy then the flavor. Last time I ate a cookie was about two weeks ago. My sister made some homemade choco chip, and I ate about half of it and threw the rest away.

If not, I'll settle for EL Fudge Butter with chocolate filling.

Chocolate Chip is always good, but there's some from Pilsbury (or Tollhouse, I can't remember) that are premade that had bits of chocolate and peanut butter in them. Wheeeeeeeeee.

My family has a recipe for frosted sugar cookies. We call dems "Charlie Brown Cookies," and they are most delicious.

Sugar cookies, thick, soft, cakey like ones, with icing. I have a really, really old recipe for them that I remember is very heavy on the powdered sugar, I think that was what made the difference in texture, but they're heavenly. Very similar to Lofthouse sugar cookies (Assuming those aren't regional). I haven't made them since I've found Lofthouse just because it's easier to buy a similar product than make it from scratch. Also, the brighter the icing, the better on those-- the 4th of july bright ass blue ones with red and white sprinkles are my favorites.

Otis Spunkmeyer used to deliver some fan freaking tastic fresh chocolate chip cookies at my old high school. Those were pretty much unbeatable, as far as chocolate chip goes. Thin, chewy but soft, melty but not warm... I miss those.
 
I periodically make batches of about 40 chocolate chip cookies from scratch. They typically last 2-3 days tops. I just shovel them down my throat :)

As far as store-bought cookies are concerned, I vote for the classic Oreo, the gingerbread men around the holidays (I think they're made by Archway), and the long-defunct Magic Middles (shortbread outside, chocolate filling)

basically every cookie you can get from a girl scout. those little bitches are the true crack dealers of america. samoas, thin mints, those lemon cookies or the starwberry ones or the peanutbutter cookies down to the shortbread cookies. i cant get enough of them and they always show up when youre trying to cut back on sweets.
 
That sounds like an awesome sugar cookie, care to share the recipe for it? I love sugar cookies more than any other (besides the oven fresh chocolate chip anyway).

Classic choc chip cookies are great. But really most cookies are fine by me. Cookies >>> Cake. Cake sucks.
 
I would like to change my vote to fortune cookies. Traditional almondy flavored ones.

It might be awhile but if I can find the book that has it in it, I'll PM it to you. Strell shared the charlie brown ones and they sound pretty yummy too.
 
Sams Club has these awesome cookies. It's considered a cookie cake I guess. 2 giant chocolate chip cookies with icing/creme in the middle. It's huge and you usually eat it in slices.
 
I was going to say there was this really good, hole-in-the-wall place in Downtown NY on Broadway right by Ground Zero but they went out of business back in December. Seems the MTA took over their location and forced them out of their lease.

I only bring them up since they had one HELL of a chocolate chip cookie. They added a few extra ingredients into what would otherwise be a standard mix and it was just flavorful and hearty. I guess a bit of really ground oats and perhaps some extra brown sugar? Wow. The best part was that you could get tiny little ones, about three for a buck. It was a good way to taste their entire cookie selection for around $3.

God, I miss that place. Delectable and cheap in NYC. Fan-fugu-tastic.
 
Now: Homemade Toll-House Chocolate Chips with Toffee and Walnuts added.

Before it closed there was a bakery near me that made the best iced sugar cookies. They'd cut them according to season, so you'd get hearts in Feburary, shamrocks in March etc. I miss that place.
