:bomb:

I bought this 2 days ago, now when I finally opened it at home I found out that there was no game inside! The guy working placed a ghetto sticker seal on the outside, I'm a bit worried I'm screwed over. This was sky crawlers on Wii if that matters
so.. call them? their inventory will be off and they will realize you didn't get the disk.
and if they don't, guess I'm SOL..
Seems to me like that's something you make sure of, you know...before you leave the store.
they seal the games with a sticker :p and how did you miss him not putting it into your case? I always watch them, they're sneaky :/ Call them, ask to speak to a manager, if not try this:

If you have an issue with a store, please contact the GameStop.com Customer Service Center at (800) 883-8895. At the menu press 4 to be directed to Store Issues. They will be able to assist you with any issue you may have regarding stores. Hours of operation: Open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (CST); Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (CST) .

This was the first time this happened to me, I tend to past gutted display copies, the problem is most stores only carry a limited supply of sky crawlers

happened when I purchased ICO through their site. I called and was told to return item to a store and was offered either a refund or place a special order. Made the order and got the game about a week later

YMMV. Some stores only do this if you ask. Most I have dealt with just give you the game.

I got the wrong used game once or twice. Always check your purchase if it's not completely sealed.

This happened to me once ages ago when I bought used. I just walked right back in and the guy immediatly got me my disc and apologized.
I always check my games when I get into the car to check again that I am satisfied with everything, even if its new.
I never buy gutted games from Gamestop. Never ever. Buy sealed, always. Saves hassle and worry.

It's the responsibility of the salesperson to put the disc in the box so it really shouldn't be necessary to double check.

In any case, OP, you should be fine, I've had this happen plenty of times with no troubles. Just go to the store, explain your situation, and they shouldn't take any kind of issue with it. Hell, I had two weeks go by once before I noticed I didn't get the disc, and it still worked out fine.

Sounds pretty necessary to me.

came back into the mall today, the guy just grabbed the disc in the super cheap envelope and scanned it in their system to make sure I wasn't trying to scam them. Told me they had 1 more copy then they should have @_@. Less than 10 seconds in and out no questions asked, didn't even bother looking at my receipt

btw what's NInja dog's side of the story, did he have the same scenario or so?

The key word was "shouldn't", it is something you should check, but generally you should be able to expect the store employees to be competent enough to put a game in the case.
I wonder how how ninja dog feels about this.
He actually just PM/ed me. He had no clue this was going on, and he's pretty pissed about it, let me tell you.
gamestop sold you a used games as new? isn't that illegal or something?
Nope, because it wasn't used, it was a display copy. Retailers have been doing it for over 100 years. Why should they be different?

Have they really?? When I goto best buy I get huge discounts on the display model that's how I got $300 of my $1000 TV.

well, they've only gotten away with it because people have been afraid to report them to the BBB.

UNTIL NOW.

But these don't cost as much and the floor model doesn't let every joe shmoe use the actual product, the DVD/Blu-ray.

Which has done a lot to change the ECA.

You want it changed, stop shopping there. Realize that for them to change their methods it's gonna cost you, and all of us, as buyers. The cost of a new system will come back to us and I'm just cheap enough to not care.

They always put the disc inside in front of me.... that's a sure fire way to make sure it's in there.....

....unless they have lasers, mirrors and smoke now. Damn illusions.

I bought a bunch of 'gutted' games recently from the 50% off sale and got all of them but I watch the sales person like a hawk when he's getting the games out of the drawers to make sure they go into the box. The guy also put a white tape seal on the boxes. They didn't leave full sealed boxes out because the sale display was located close to the exit and it was in the mall so someone can reach in, grab a handful and run. I had an issue at one Gamestop where a used disc I got had a gouge in it and obviously was going to cause me problems if I tried to return it later and I made a big scene before I even left the store so they pretty much know in that location that if there's more than one copy in the drawer, I get the best one and if there's only one and it's obviously damaged, they tell me and I choose something else or I make trouble. :D
