Broken Sword GBA -- any good?

Its not bad if you missed it in its Playstation release. Granted, its been a while so I forget much of it.. but I do remember it fondly. If your an adventure game fan, its worth picking up.

Good, but you have to be careful, there is a glitch that if you miss a step before flying to a different country it screws up your game save so you are unable to finish the story and you have to restart.

Its excellent. Its a port of the PSX version, its a great game on either platform. Might want to check out the sequel on the PSX, and the 3rd in the series, on Xbox. Theres a new one in development for PC, and possibly a console down the road. I think all of them are also available on PC, too, but good luck finding copies anywhere but the internet.

I loved Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars on the GBA! Great freakin' game (save for the already-mentioned glitched) with some nice gags that actually work. Also appreciated the Newcastle United supporters near the end, mashed up on brown ale.

Pick it up and enjoy it!

I liked it too but i stopped playing cause of another game ending glitch. It was something when you had to make a fake key. I cant remember at the moment but for some reason it just wouldnt work. I followed the guide too.

Holy fuck im so angry right now. I cant remember what the last time i played this was but after reading this i decided to go back to the spot where i thought it was impossible to move on. Turns out all i had to do was press a different button describing this thermostat then the option to talk to the guard about ti would pop up. fuck fuck fuck. Sucks ass. A year two years i cant remember the last time i played this. I cant remember the story and i dont really want to replay it from the begining when im this far in.

I think I got stuck at that part to, but it was in the psx version. You just got into the clown's hideout and you need to make a fake key to get in the door. You have the puddy (or whatever it was) but you needed water. I remember reading in the guide that you had to get the towel from under the guy's arm in the bar then wet it in the sink in the basement. I did all that before hand but when I went to look for the towel, it disappeared from my inventory. After that I just quit.

I actually beat the game in one night... Shouldn't take too long. You could just read a walkthrough up to the point you stopped, just to pick up the story. Its really a great series of games and some of the best adventure games in the post Sierra/Lucasarts era.

It's a pretty good game, but it's easily best on PC. It looks blurry on both GBA & PS. Luckily the GBA one's interface relies less on being able to see inticate details. Though the GBA one doesn't have voice and that detracts from the whole experience of any adventure game.

I don't know how the port holds up, but it was enjoyable on PC. Very easy though. I really wish a company would wise up and release these types of games on the DS. A compilation of SCUMM games would be great (Sam and Max, Day of the Tentacle, Manica Mansion, the Indiana Jones games, etc.)

Thats true, but its easily obtainable on GBA, the PS1 version isn't that easy to find, but its still a lot easier to get that than the PC version, unless you can find somewhere to download it from.

I heard 'classic adventure games' and 'Live Arcade' in the same sentance somewhere, but I don't know if that'll really happen. It wouldn't be difficult to do, if they wanted to. But I don't know if they want to.

A fusion of the uncensored PC Maniac Mansion version with the graphical upgrades of the NES version would finally push me over the edge to purchase a DS, I've been wanting a portable version of this game since the release of the Game Boy Color.
