Episode 5 of Phoenix Wright - Help!

So i've been stuck on this part for the better part of a month or two. I've even used a FAQ and it didn't help.

I'm at the part in Episode 5 where you discover that Edgeworth's ID was used to get in the evidence room. I've found both handprints, the bloodstain, the glove, the blood on the floor, all the evidence in the room, put the vase together, etcetcetc. I've even went to the guard's office and found the blood on top of the cactus. I showed the ID list to Gumshoe and he is supposed to tell me that Edgeworth is getting out of the meeting now, but he never does. I obviously missed something here. I went step by step in the FAQ, retraced my steps.. i've done everything.

Those of you that have went through this part.. help!
 
Reread the gamefaqs walkthrough.I follow the exact steps faq suggested and went through the without a hitch.The game is not that hard because it is so linear.There is no right or wrong.You can follow one paththrought the game(which kinda sucks) and you always have to meet certain requirement to advance to the next area.


Here some helpful tips in Case 5.Since case 5 is such a long case,one little thing missing like talking or presenting evendence to people will open new dialog menu will prevent you from advance the game.

*talk to all people

*use the sciencetific anaylsis and examine the item(the one you get a 360 view and can view the items)

*use spray to find blood

*use finger duster to find finger prints

*present evidence to the people related to the conversation

*listen to the small hints the game give you such as the cowboy is hungry and you give him sushi



The bestbet is ask me,but I need more details.The chapter is very long with so many triiger leading to the next event
 
If I remember, one of the FAQs on gamefaqs have the order messed up.

It would help if you tell us what characters you can talk to at this point.
 
I think I know you problem.According to the faq

Juding by your suitution I think this is the problem.

The faq is missing one step in that case. I know I was faced in a same suitution before (that y you can't be too dependant on the faqs) if Gumshoe does not leave you did not finish the talking sequence with him.The trigger for the next event will not be open until the requirement is achieved.


I think you have to present him with evidence recieve during the examination of the locker room such as vase and bloody paper.This will open new dialog or talk menu.If he start to say"he got to leave".You achieve the trigger and Edgeworth bulter will appear in his room.

I can't remember exactly if this was where I got stuck as well, but earlier on when you spoke to Edgeworth he crumpled up a note and threw it on the floor of his office. If you check the note he should pop back in. I hope that helps.
 
What does the note say? I've already talked and presented everything to Gumshoe, I literally went and presented everything one by one.

Did you find the fingerprints on the second bloodstain? The ones who belong to Jake Marshall?

Umm.. chick that hands out food (Angel?), Cowboy dude, Gumshoe.. and the officer at the station.. it's been a long, long time since i've played it, I got frustrated that I couldn't progress through the episode. I'll try to figure out how to match fingerprints or something..

//edit: Here's my inventory if it helps.. no crumpled up note from Edgeworth:

Attorney's Badge, Goodman's ID, the K statue, Edgeworth's knife, parking ticket, blue badger panel, autopsy report, victim's note, lana's cell phone, parking lot floor plans, crime photo, victim's shoe, luminol, goodman's lost item report, evidence room floorplans, glove, broken pot (missing a piec e) and ID Card Record.

Try using the aluminum powder on that handprint near the evidence locker door. You need to get a print on Jake Marshall so it becomes your "Trump Card" for the next part of the trial.

The finger print dusting kit? You get that from edgeworth. Also with the note, its the second half of the evidence list.
 
ok,I replayed the game and fast forward the game as fast possible to that event.It took about 1hour so you better get it right.

Once you go to the evidence room

+get 3 talk sequence with Gumshoe.
+present id list to gumshoe-update listwith edgeworth
+present switchblade to Gumshoe which was recieve during the court case
+a new talk sequence is avaiable when switchblade is given called "SL 9 Incident"
+talk to him about it a learn more about it
+piece the vase togethor
+use lunion fluid on 3 blood stains

1st blood stain-(left screen)upper left locker
2nd blood stain-(right screen) near the vase pieces
3rd blood stain-(right screen)spray the partially revealed hand print

After this,Gumshoe say he have to leave

+go to Edgeworth and talk to him
+present id record
+present switchblade
+you soon will recieve screwdriver and fingerprint set

Once receive the fingerprint set is recived go back to the evidence room

+dust the 3rd blood stain-(right screen)spray the partially revealed hand print
+pick gumshoe
+dust the 1st blood stain-(left screen)upper left locker
+pick marshel day ends

a)examine the tag on screwdriver
b)examine the blood stain jar-the blood part and bottom part
c)examine the tag on glove
d)spray the lunion fluid on catus near the evidence locker
e)spray the lunion fluid on Edgeworth room

This is RIGHT where i'm at. I've done all of those things above, and I just went back to make sure I did them again, and nothing happened. He won't leave. I go to Edgeworth's office and he's not there. On your optional bit, you mention a screwdriver. Where's that at? I don't have that. But I have done EVERYTHING else you mentioned.

What aluminum powder? I think you're describing a situation that I haven't gotten to yet.

You will receive the screwdriver after you present Edgeworth with the 2 pieces of evidence.Of course,you can't proceed further until Gumshoe leaves.

Gumshoe will say "Hey,pal,look at the time!! Was there something you need to be going to? It's just that Mr.Edgeworth's inquiry committe should be letting out soon.I'm going to go give them my report for the day.It might help, you know...." then he leaves.

Hmm,the only logical thing is that either miss one of these steps or missed a conversation with another char.Maybe Marshall?
 
Nope. I'm wondering if I did things so out of order (I found blood stains, put together the vase.. then found the ID card list then showed it to Gumshoe).. I wonder if it's a bug.. I hope not.. i've been wanting to finish this episode for a long time.. *sigh*
 
Don't worry about the powder, you get it from Edgeworth after you pass this sequence.

I'm still not sure what's wrong. I'll think about the sequence a bit more. Maybe I'll whip out the game and play it through again.
 
Can anyone help me? I'm stuck at cross-examination on Chief of police Gant.
I already press him and the switchable knife shown up as an evidence ,but I can't get through the rest. It gave me a headache, I can't find how to go on.

The first time you examine him? Or the last examination where you can't present evidence until he says so?

I think you have to view the knife in evidence, and notice the tip is broken off or something similiar.

He should slip up, and the testimony was amended. Then present the knife.

Whats his statement?
 
God knows why I read this whole thread, but now I'm curious: did Scorch ever get past this? ( I realize this was 2.5 years ago)
 
I was wondering, if someone could tell me how to get the fingerprint stuff to go when I'm working on the fingerprint by the door that's going to be Jake Marshall's. I can't get it to examine the middle print for anything. What am I (or what am I not) doing to get this to take?
