Can anyone fill me in on the details of this promotion? I am guessing it is buy 2 used titles, get one of equal-or-lesser-value free. Is that right? Will 1 new + 1 used = 1 used free work?
 
You were right the first time....new shit doesnt count...yet you can mix it up with DVD + PS2 game = free X-box game (Of equal or lesser value of course)

All GS's should be running this sale and it really started today. You can also do the 10% coupon in the June GI and the GS card (meaning 20% off along with B2GO) in conjunction.

I just traded in a crap game (got $15 credit) , then using the card and coupon got 1 $27.99 game, 2 $17.99 games and reserved Halo 2 for around $25.00

My local GameStop said that the sale doesn't start until Sunday. He showed me an ad and everything. So for the next couple of days this might be YMMV, but starting Sunday this should be everywhere.

Also, was able to use additional 10% off coupon in this months game informer, so I got 20% off with card and coupon and one game free.

Picked up Splinter Cell:pT, Silent Scope Complete and MGS:Twin Snakes for $65.00 all complete in good condition...I'm not complaining.

Dang! I wasn't planning on them doing this again so soon. All my cash be tied up elsewhere.

Oh well, perhaps when they do this next time Jak II will be at GH price and I'll have the funds. Just as well, though. I'm far behind on the games I already have as it is.
 
Just want to pass on some advice that somebody on here told me. If you see that one Gamestop may have 1 of your preferred games while another in the area has the other 2, ask that store to do an inventory transfer so you can purchase the games you actually want. And you can always do a quick check to see what they have in stock at your local gamestop by going to the website.

The inventory transfer has done me well. I used it for the "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" deal to get Suikoden 2, Valkyrie Profile, and then Suikoden 1 for free. I felt great that day. Thanks to whoever told me about the deal!
 
At least one Gamestop in Tucson, AZ is running this; pretty slim pickings for XBOX tho; but I managed to find a few to make it worth the drive

That seems like more work than it has to be. Just tell the person to buy what they want from the first store, then take those games to the other store, return them, and do a new transaction that reflects all three games. I've done this a thousand times for customers. Any employee who tells you not to do this is full of shit.
 
i took advantage of this today. I-Ninja, Soul Caliber 2, XIII (which I was doubting, but i love it). all for about 36 bucks. possibly less, my mom has been wanting to get me something so she may go half. (i'm 19, but whatever, if my mom wants to do that, hell, i'm down).

what sucks though is when i got home from the store, i put in XIII get through the cutscenes and into the action and my boss calls, i was 30 minutes late for work and didn't even know it.

Probably will end up getting Onimusha 2 as the other game.

also probably gonna pick up Resident Evil outbreak, Disagea, and something else of those two are still there tomorrow
 
I got Halo, KOTOR and Prince of Persia for $45 total with the GI coupon and card. I now have every Xbox game worth owning till theres some deal on Riddick, and FSW.

I have an important question. Well I bought 3 games (Splinter Cell 44.50, Rainbow 6 44.50 and Counter-Strike 26.50) yesterday. I was very surprised at the total, expecting to spend more, when I saw that the buy 2 get 1 used dealie was going on. Well, the reason I got Counter-Strike and nothing else at the time was because I didn't have the money... now that I see I could've gotten 44.50 worth of game, I'm wondering if it's possible for me to take Counter-Strike back and get a higher value game.

Yeah. I bought the NES SP today, along with Eternal Darkness, THPS4 and Spider-Man. Came out to $160 or so. (8.9% sales tax in Bellevue, WA)

Bought Splinter Cell: PT ($44.99) + The Suffering ($44.95) + Ninja Gaiden ($44.99. With the sale, plus GI card, plus GI coupon, I got all of them for $76.00 after tax. I forgot to ask though, how long is this sale good for?

Picked up Panzer Dragoon Orta, Otogi:Myth of demons, and Armed and Dangerous. (all xbox)

Also got 20% off the used titles with my gamestop card and the gameinformer extra 10% coupon.

They also had a deal on trade-ins'...trade in 3 or more xbox, ps2, gc and get an aditional $10 for your trade...
 
Which issue has the gameinformer coupon for 10% off preowned? Do you need the original coupon or is there an online/printable version? Thanks.
 
It's in the June 2004 issue. It gives you an extra 10% off with your gamestop card (which already gives you 10% off). It wouldn't matter if you have the coupon or not if you don't already have the card. An online/printable versoin would be pretty useless since if you don't have a GI subscription, chances are you don't have the card either.

This kinda annoys me, my local gamestop doesn't let you use the card with buy 2 get 1 deal. They say you can't combine the offer with any other offer.
 
That does suck. Look at the fine print and if it does not say it can't be used with any other offer, you should be good to go.
 
Yeah why even have the stupid card if not to get the maximum deal. What bastards. It should be an automatic 10% off nomatter what's going on.
 
They should let you use the card with this deal, that's how it works, I also believe you can use the extra 10% coupon...I just rip it out of the mags they have sitting there, ummm SC2 is 9.99 used for gamecube before all the discounts or B2GO deals; just a heads up
