Kung Pow or Kung Fu Hustle

CAGiversary!
I know this has been discussed, but in terms of comedy which would you say is more comedic, Kung Fu Hustle or Kung Pow, they are both comedic marial arts movies, ad both employ bad CGI, but while one spoofs action movies, the other merely portrays action in a comedic way you choose, my vote, kung pow, since steve oderkirk's wacky sense of comedy appeals very much to my MST300 personality

Kung Fu Hustle. When I watched Kung Pow a lot of it just wasn't funny to me. Kung Fu Hustle did have some weird looking CGI, but I liked the characters more and seemed like it was trying to be more than a "squeeze any jokes we can in to this" type movie.

I haven't seen Kung Fu Hustle, but as Kung Pow is right up there among the very worst films I've ever seen, I know where my vote would go.

considering kung fu hustle is only out in two cities until friday, you might want to wait til next week to ask that question

forgot bout that, im a new york man so it must have buzzed right over me, well anyway i guess this thing will be booming on friday, ill bump it back up then

Kung Fu Hustle has been out for a long time. It's another movie that is being redubbed and rereleased over here. I managed to get a copy of the Cantonese version with english subtitles. It's pretty funny.
you forgot the option of "neither. they both blow ass"
it doesnt matter one of them has to be better than the other either way

Kung Fu Hustle is infinitely better. Everything by Stephen Chow is. Hell, Kentucky Fried Movie's 30 minute Kung Fu skit is better than Kung Pow.

It's not being dubbed for the U.S. release. It's only subbed. They didn't try to do the same thing they did with Shaolin Soccer.

Oh, well that's even better. I was worried that the dubbing may be bad. But if it's just subbed then awesome.
I hated Kung Pow, I couldn't even finish it...
certain things were very funny, but then again give me mystery science theater anyday

agreed.
I haven't seen Kung Fu Hustle yet, but I hate Kung Pow with a passion, so I'm voting for KFH.
agreed.

agreed. i almost have stephen chow's whole collection and watch them whenever there is a shortage of good new releases :)

Watching Kung Pow was an exercise in torture. Anything has to be better than Kung Pow. Hell, I may go so far to say that Catwoman might be better than Kung Pow. Actually.....Let me think about that for a bit...

Apples and oranges. Kung Pow wanted to be the 'Whats Up, Tiger Lily?' of kung fu movies while Kung Fu Hustle seeks to be the Blazing Saddles. One had to operate within the confines of an existing film while the other got to do everything from scratch.
Kung Pow was awesome. It had so many laugh-out-loud moments.

"Chosen One, Oh Chosen one..... Iron claws hurt like crap!"
personal favorite part
where Betty, and Miss Piggy, are repeating their noises they make at each other

i never think kungfu hustle as a comedy, if you watch chow's previous movies before shaolin soccer all of em are hilarious. Growing up watching wu xia or kungfu soap opera if i might say, to me kungfu hustle is more an action movie rather then comedy

and i havent watch kungpow, i voted for kungfu hustle

Kung Pow got exactly one laugh out of me: the "I've 'chosen' the large tub" line. Twas gold.

so are any of you who posted as disliking kung pow also fans of mst3k? as the first poster mentioned, i think its a similar type of comedy that not all can appreciate

Actually, yes, I like a lot of MST3K. Not only watching the series but doing that kind of commentary myself while watching terrible movies ;) I don't know why I didn't like Kung Pow, but I haven't even seen it all. I can't stand it long enough to sit through it.

Kung Fu Hustle. I saw Kung Pow for 5 seconds and realized it's one of the worst movies ever made.

Kung Fu Hustle is even more fun if you understand all the parodies they do.

Kung Pow! Okay, I'll admit that I haven't seen Kung Fu Hustle, though it does look amusing, but I've got to throw down some support for KP. I laugh every time I watch it. Weeoooweeoooo!!!

Agreed.

I haven't seen KFH yet either; I am looking forward to it.
