Local Multiplayer Games?

Is there a list anywhere of games that support 2-4 people offline? I've been looking around, but never really found anything.

Perhaps I could get some reccomendations, or maybe we could compile our own list? Sports games are the obvious choice, but I haven't really seen too much of anything on the offline front outside of that.

Let me know any good games to play with some friends over, or maybe just let me know of any and all games with local multiplayer and I'll do my best to put them in the OP.

The Simpsons and all of the Lego games have offline co-op. Kung Fu Panda has multiplayer minigames, although the main campaign is single-player. Buzz Quiz TV is another obvious one.

I've actually seen that before but forgot about it. Doesn't have any competitive multiplayer games included though... Thanks for reminding me either way.

My friends really enjoy playing BZB, S.A.R.P.B.C. and Comet Crash was a lot of fun with 3 people
 
Is Resistance 1 Co-op and competative or just co-op?

I was dissapointed in R2 being 2 player co-op only and hard as fuck to boot... I might have to pick up R1 again though.
 
Red Faction Guerrilla, Skate 2, and Burnout Paradise have multiplayer modes where you take turns (Burnout's is DLC).

Worms 2 Armageddon will be on the PSN eventually.

My recommendations are Bomberman, Buzz Quiz TV, Motorstorm:pR, and fighting games for competitive local multiplayer.
 
Calling All Cars supports 4-player offline competitive multiplayer. The Dynasty Warriors games have 2-player co-op, and I think also competitive 2-player multiplayer modes that I have never tried.
 
Yup R1 has cooperative and competetive up to 4 people. And Calling All Cars is an absolute blast with friends over. Very very underrated game
 
Okay, I decided to put together a list for personal use - hopefully others can get something out of it.

Just let me know how many players and if it's competitive, co-op, or both and I'll add it to the OP.
 
frigin FIFA 09, I think you can have 8 players there competetive. Also WWE SvR 09 can have 6 players I think, 6 competetive and 2 coop.
