I have been watching Best Buy's site and checking in stores for this item ever since it showed up in their Outlet Center. It has been OOS online and in-store for several months.

I accidentally stumbled on several copies in-store today. They were marked as $19.99 and I had to get a price match override. I'm not sure if this is very YMMV or if Best Buy is getting more back in stock.

It's in stock at alot of the stores around my way in the Platinum Hits display because it has it's own space for it but it's definitely YMMV because Bestbuy is not supposed to price match outlet center prices but I was successful a few weeks back when I got a few to flip to GS but I also did get 1 for myself because I will start the trilogy soon on 360.

None of them should match it. Unless you get someone who doesn't know what they're doing they wont. This topic is misleading and should be deleted or edited to mention that its an outlet center price and they DONT match it in store

Yes this is in stock but its $20 not 8. I tried several times to get them to PM the online price but they wouldn't. I really want a copy too since im gonna replay the firs 2 before i play the 3rd and want the DLC

I was successful in part to showing them the price off the mobile version which doesn't easily indicate it's an outlet center item so maybe you wanna give that a shot.

They matched it for me, so "misleading" is not an apt description. "Challenging" perhaps or "YMMV" but not misleading. I did the price match at the normal register and not the video game center, so maybe normal cashiers don't know to avoid PM from the Outlet Center. I didn't even realize that was their guideline when I got it matched. Also, i'm pretty sure this isn't the first time I have gotten price matches from the Outlet Center.
 
Congrats on getting the match, but this is a high YMMV. The game is regularly in print and retails at standard PH/GH price ($20) so there's no reason for them to be put it on clearance at this time.

I would agree with you except that Best Buy has no regular listing for it on their site. The only Mass Effect listings are for the Outlet Center price of $7.99 and pre-owned for $14.99

I don't understand how Best Buy operates (I don't think they do either). I really like Best Buy, but it's no wonder they are having financial problems.
 
I was able to grab what appeared to be the last copy at my Best Buy and had the cashier price match it with no problem.

I realize this deal was very YMMV. However, just one obvious tip, don't rely on the BB website to check stock, check the shelves yourself in person. I have found the BB website to be unreliable when it comes to stuff being in stock or out-of-stock.
 
If BB won't price match, I was able to get a price match at Frys when the BB outlet had Borderlands GOTY for $12.

As has been said many times in many different threads if BB has less than 3 in stock it will come up as unavailable.
