Microsoft Wireless Steering Wheel question (no disc?)

Hi Guys,

I've got a chance to buy one of these used for $40. The problem is is that it is ala carte, no disc, no power cord. Just the wheel and the pedals. Will the wheel work without the "driver disc" ? Also, I have PGR3 but it's the old one -- I saw posts that it gets updated from live but even if I never install the drivers from the disc?

Thanks!

You are awesome. I just checked:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/2006/1030-novemberupdate-completelist.htm

So as of November 06, there it is:
 • Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel support.
Thank you for the idea!

UPDATE:
It works just fine without any "driver" and my plain old copy of PGR3 supports rumble just fine as well. Presumably the Live updates I received in the past added the functionality that the disc didn't.

So, for the record if someone offers to sell you the MS Steering wheel without the disc it's no problem!
i think the the semi-annual dashboard updates on the 360 already has drivers for the wheel.
I'd think that'd be a good reason to email you if the thing could possibly catch your crotch on fire. I never would've found out about this since I don't frequent Major Nelson's site nor do I knowingly look on the Xbox site for hardware problems (though I probably should). I wonder what kind of bullshit they'll have me do to "retrofit" a $130+ wheel. Wonderful, MS. Get your damn hardware right.
