Hey guys, need some help. I just bought a Sega Dreamcast along with the game "Hydro Thunder". When I put it in to play it, it will get to the main menu of the game fine, but once I select the option "Game" to start p[laying it, it freezes. The disk is in perfect shape, I even bought another one just incase it was the disc and it won't even read the other one. What the hell is going on? How do I fix this?

perfect as in no scratches?

did you clean the lens first?

while the power is off, try pushing the lens upward, put the disc in, close the lid and turn on the power.

There were a few GD-Rom disk issues at launch like Hydrothunder and Ready to Rumble, and you may have one of those disks. The corrected disks had the "hot new" sticker on the cover and that's how you can identify the corrected disks.

Yeah, this is probably the issue. Your game(s) are probably shit. I got a Dreamcast on launch and I remember it did not play a few of the games. Brand new system, brand new games, and they didn't work. I specifically remember Blue Stinger didn't work for most (if not all) people. I had to return my copy because it wouldnt read and I was told none of them would work.

My Dreamcast (not the launch one, I stupidly sold it years ago and replaced it) plays burned games, but wont play any of the actual real copies. Annoying as I love games in their cases, not bullshit copies.
