Need For Speed Underground vs. Underground 2

What could convince me to shell out an extra $30 bucks for NFSU2 rather than NFSU. I already know about the free roaming thing and it sounds cool but is it $30 cool? Plus what other new features are there?

I liked the first better, they screwed up the neons in this game and yes it actually ruins a lot of the experience for me.

NFSU 2 is great. The free roaming is much better than the first, much more cars, and tons more ways to customize your car, and you can also fine tune your car. Supposedly the online play isnt as good as last game's but i havent tried it out yet. I think its worth it if you are a fan of cars, especially the street racing scene

I haven't played the second game much at all, but from the little I did play I preferred the first one. This could be because I wasn't used to the new one though. If I were you, I would pick up the original for now. Then later on you can get NFSU2 when it drops in price.

Is the core gameplay the same?

I prob wont go online w/it for a while and I'm not very educated on street car upgrades (I own an SUV).

Off the top of my head...

- More cars, including SUV's

- way more upgrades; including spinners, stereo equipment, hydraulics,etc

- Free roaming

- Some new race/track types

- Fine tuning

- Online play

- New soundtrack... ooo!

- New features with the magazines, DVD covers,sponsors,etc

Trust me, it has a helluva lot more than the original NFSU.. The gameplay is basically the same, though. Unless you're real short on cash, go for NFSU2.

A lot of people complain about the free roaming in NFSU2, but I guess it depends on the person. Some of my friends absolutely hated that part of the game though.

I personally enjoyed the first Underground more. I think the sequel was just more of the same and the free roaming got rather boring (in my opinion).

Both games are good, but I don't think the sequel offered enough to warrant the price difference you're facing, but then again, that's just my opinion.

well a really noticable difference? Cuz i'm a fan of car racing... but if there isn't that much of a graphical improvement... i'd buy part one and wait for two to go down.. but if the graphics were noticably different and outstanding .. i'd shell out for part two. just asking for opinions..
