Phillip K. Dick (it's based on his book) is the man.

I just started reading some of his essays, and he has this chaotic way of making connections between objects and events that just ends up making a believer out of you.

BTW I'm pretty sure that PKD is a gnostic christian - the title is a reworking of that christian bible phrase "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known"

Oh, awesome! I think PKD novels always have the potential, at least, to be great movies. I love his work and really hope to see more good movies based on his material. I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would, but I still thought that it could make a good movie, albiet a possibly strange and confusing one. I really hope it turns out well.

Edit-And, personally, I thought that the visual style was very cool. And it kind of makes sense, since some parts of the book could be very difficult to do live action.
It's NOT cel-shading! It's called rotoscoping.... or something.
You're right. Cel-shading is applying filters or effects to 3D polygons. Rotoscoping is roughly "tracing" in a sense, drawing over existing video or film. That's what they're doing here, using the software they developed for Waking Life.

I hated that movie. But I liked School of Rock and Tape, all by the same director. Hopefully this won't get too heady or have mangled intellectual concepts. ....I have to say again how much I despised Waking Life. I really hope the animation is actually useful and purposeful in this case.

i dont think i'll be able to watch it just because of the comic book effect... that will bother me so bad.

kind of looks interesting, but it has 2 of the most terrible actors in hollywood, Keanu Reaves, and Winonna Rider (even though keanu is a bad actor, i enjoy most of his movies).

That movie looks pretty cool. Hopefully, if it's a good movie, it'll do good in sales, but I doubt it. It looks like a possible DVD purchase for me...
