Ok so i always use to play wii 1 player. I've never had any problems with it but i always had roomies who would bitch about how they wanted to play but i ony had one controller. So i just got wii play the other day so im like sweet now i have 2 controllers so we can play each other in all these wii games that i have. So the problem here is syncing them i guess. So i tried it this way i syncd one of the remotes by pressing the sync button on the wii and then on the remote just to get one syncd. Then i will go into the wiimote settings and will press 12 12 12 12 12 until the 2nd wii remote pops up which isnt a problem. The problem is whichever remote is the 2nd user ALWAYS gets disconnected! Like it'll work for about 5 mins then get disconnected for 2 seconds and then connects back on. Which is annoying in most games because a screen will popup and say it lost connection to one of the remotes.

We wont move or anything and itll connect back on without making any serious movements just by sitting down. It's not any of the wiimotes because they both do it whichever one is on user 2. I also tried it this way, i pressed the sync on the wii and had 2 of my friends press sync on both of the remotes at the same time. IT as well got 1 controller to sync and then i had to sync the other pressing 12 12 12 12. Battery isnt a problem brand new batteries. Both remotes do this problem whichever one is user 2. Doesn't matter which remote they both do the same thing.

I have no idea what the problem is and would like any opinions or help. Or any other successful way besides the 2 i tried that got to to sync both of your controllers. I am very upset and am about to sell my wii over this problem. I heard i could send it back to nintendo but i dont have a receipt. It might be at the usps because i had a notice a month ago to pick it up but stupid me i never did. Would nintendo still fix my wii? Let me know asap on anything i need help!

Using the 1+2 sync is only temporary, designed for when you take a remote to a friend's house. The Sync-buttons sync is permanent, though sometimes it flakes out a bit and you've got to unplug the unit from the power and restart and resync.

Make sure you're following the Manual's order for sync-button-pressing. There may also be a problem with the remote. If you can't get it working properly, call Nintendo. They warrnty those things as well as the console itself is.

Were you playing WarioWare by chance? I almost threw my WII-Mote through a window because nowhere in the manual does it say 2 player versus doesn't open up until you beat the 1 player mode. So I thought multiplayer didn't open up until the second Wii-mote was on..............

So I spent an hour trying to get the second wii-mote to power on and turning the first one off just to go on gamefaqs and find out it's not supposed to work. Thanks for the heads up Nintendo :wall:

If it wasn't Warioware you need to hit the red sync button under the battery lid to sync with another system.

haha no wario ware it was excite truck and then wii sports. i did read the manual. there way says to press 12 12.... to add a remote. it says to sync it with 1 and to add them using the 12 12 stuff.. which hasnt been working because it cuts out randomly.

Don't press 1 or 2 at all. I've synched extra remotes to my system twice, and not once have I pressed 1 or 2. And I've never had a problem.

I just synched remotes 3 and 4 yesterday with no problems. I hit the synch button on the Wii once and then the synch button on # 3 once. 3 seconds later I had a working player 3 mote. Same procedure and success with #4. I don't know why you would have to press 1-2-1-2 or any of that crap, mine worked smooth as silk.

Of course, I then clicked on the Game channel to start Wii Sports and the thing froze up to a black screen of death.

ok im going to unplug all cords from the wii and plug it all back in and sync 1 remote by 1 without hitting any of the 1&2 crap. just the sync on wii then hit sync on remote until your cursor pops up. will do i will let you know when i try this in an hour or so. Thanks for all the suggestions, feedback, and etc.

Anything else that hasnt been said that you want to add to any of this please do. Thanks

Just have to reply to this. Just so you know Warioware does not use a second remote at all. All of the multiplayer is played using just the one remote. It's a stupid design decision IMHO, but don't get pissed when you finally do open Multi and find out you can't get the second remote to work anyway.

From the Nintendo FAQ:

If you're having trouble getting your Wii Remotes synced to your Wii Console, or your Wii Remotes were synced previously and now the blue lights on your Wii Remote just flash and nothing happens, try the following.
  • First, make sure you have a fresh set of batteries. As the battery life depletes, the Wii Remote may begin to experience issues syncing properly.
  • Take the batteries out of your Wii Remote and wait one minute. Reinsert the batteries.
  • Turn on your Wii and wait until the Health and Safety Screen appears. (Don't press the A button.)
  • Now, press and hold the SYNC button on your Wii console for 15 seconds. This will delete all synced remotes from the system.
  • Now, re-sync your remotes one at a time. Open up the battery cover of your Wii Remote, push the red SYNC button inside, and then push the SYNC button on your Wii Console. Repeat this once for each controller.
  • If you're still experiencing issues, try to eliminate any wireless interference between the Wii Console and your playing area. Items such as cordless phones, microwaves, and other wireless items can prevent the Wii Remote from communicating effectively with the Wii Console.

As an english major and future teacher, how do you afford video games, much less food or the van you live in?

By the way, sneekpeaks, I suggest selling your wii.

ok so the problem still exists!!

Less disconnects but defantly the same problem only with user #2. It's not a remote problem because both remotes do it just depending on which one is user #2.

They mainly disconnect in the racing games where you have to turn ur controller sideways. But it also happens normally. It happens A LOT and its very very annoying. They both have perfectly new batteries in them full all the way to the bar when i press the home button. I did the nintendo website way to sync press remote sync then wii sync. Then do it again with the 2nd remote no more 1 & 2 crap. But it still has the same problem. Anyone have any suggestions or to just turn my wii into nintendo and hope it doesnt keep up?

So it disconnects while you're actually playing or is the player 2 just sitting idly bye waiting or something? Cause if you stop playing for a while they disconnect and turn-off and this happens more quickly if you don't have the remotes pointed at the sensor bar/TV.

It's while im playing, and i realized its one of the remotes just shorting out or something. The lights turn off(disconnects for a few seconds) then it makes the noise it makes as it just turned on. Then it catchs on again. I thought it was just user 2 but i marked the working one switched it up and it was the same remote messing up on user 1. Even though i havent tired using the assumed broken controller 1 player.

ok so its the damn remote does the same crap on 1 player. cuts out when u hit the home key and crap gay. guess im buying a new remote and selling this on ebay as barely touched because i got the damn wii play sealed opened it played all the games attempted to on 2 player.

wtf so you going to sell the broken controller on ebay as barely touched?

Can't you just return it to the store you got it from?

or take it back to the store...no need to screw someone over on ebay, because ebay will eventually get ya...

plus it'd just be so much easier to call Nintendo and get a replacement controller. Not that hard to do.

Like what Nintendo did to him?

Just sayin'....

Don't panic man.

1. You have to sync your controller in the black screen that pop up when you turn on your Wii. To do that, press sync in the controller then sync in the Wii (near the SD port) and them wait until each controller get sync.

2. If your controller is not working, you can reset the Wii sync. So you will have everything starting from "zero". In order to do that, just press the Sync buttom at the Wii for more than 15 seconds (I always wait more them 30 seconds) than resync all your controllers agains.

Usually that solve the problems, if after that your controller still dont work, just send it to Nintendo and they will replace it.

OH yah, like Nintendo knew the controller was malfunctioning and thought, "hey, let's scam this guy".

Manufacturing defects happen all the time. Nintendo has without a doubt the best track record in the industry on making things right in these situations. Either take the controller back to the store for replacement, or call the big N.
