I don't know if anyone else got the PSU Winter '04 demo disk in the mail, but I did yesterday. It had a Viewitful Joe 2 demo, along with some videos and stuff that they released on the internet about VJ1, and some other shit demos, like Jak 3 and R&C3. Anyway, I play the demo, I enjoy it.

Now this is where the story gets good. Or really ridiculously shitty. Depends on your whole POV.

I take it out and go to play some Katamari Damacy. The game tells me I have no data. Perplexed, I go to the PS2 browser and look at my memory card. It somehow became unformatted. I reformat it and replay a level of KD to create a save file. Then I play the VJ2 demo again. I go back to the memory card, and it's unformatted again. Did this happen to anyone else? I would't recomment playing the disk with a memory card in your machine if you get it. It just lost 54 hours of progress in Dark Cloud 2, 35 hours of La Pucelle Tactics, and a lot of other shit that I was almost done with, but not quite. I think I really fucking hate Sony today for mailing this virus to me.

I wonder if the VJ2 demo is on the OPM disc and if it has the same glitch. Otherwise, I'll take out my memory cards when playing demos.

I didn't notice it until like now, and didn't see the other thread about it. Either way, I played the demo before that thread was posted. fucking Sony.

Damn, I really dodged a bullet. I saw the new demo disc in the case at hastings a week ago, read the back and decided to purchase then spent 10 minutes looking around the store for an employee to open it. I didn't find one so said "screw it" and walked out. Never have I been so happy that my local Hastings has crappy customer service!

There's no Killzone demo...

It's Jak 3, Ratchet 3, VJ2, ATV3, Tak 2, Spyro, Ace Combat 5, Star Wars: BF, Crash Twinsanity, and the Incredibles.

smart move... Sony is selling the game based on the commercial, the commercial is really cool, too bad the games not

Screamed bloody murder when I found out all my data was gone the next night.

Hopefully y'all can dodge the bullet.

Btw, it doesn't erase HDDs. At least it didn't erase mine.

Yeah, I got the same one.

Good thing these things go to my permanent address and not school because my memory card would have been erased, and I would have been pissed.

hey guys, I FINALLY completed the ambulance missions and I'm about to get 100% complete in GTA:VC. But I really wanna try this VJ2 demo first, so I'm gonna check it out first.

read yer mail folks, I got the e-mail 2 days before i got the disc (got it on saturday, e-mail on thursday). Sorry if you lost anything importnat, but look at it this way. You now have a full memory card to fill up again ^_^. (can't believe capcom let that bug slip through, and can't believe whomever is responsible for QA on the disc didn't catch it).
Demos arent usually subject to QA they arnt completed games and they tell you to expect gliches.
Glitches are too many jaggies or having your main character drop through the floor.

Things like frying your PS2 or erasing your memory card - that's disasteriffic (i admit it - i just started FFX2)

Interestingly enough, I got my PSU Holiday 2004 disc Saturday, but with no VJ 2 demo on it. It has Ratchet & Clank 3, Jak 3, ATV Offroad Fury 3, Killzone, MGS 3, Area 51, Silent Hill 4, Prince of Persia 2, Star Wars Battlefront, & Ace Combat 5. I was wondering if anyone else got a disc like this.

The point is it wasnt subjected to the tighter testing that consumer games are. Whether it be crashing the system when you turn a corner or some bit or errant code that writes over your memorycard.
